  1. Looks like Grandia is getting trophies after all. https://www.exophase.com/game/grandia-psn/trophies/ Guess they are getting patched in. Trophies for Grandia 2 have also popped up. This means it's probably not too far away from a release.
  2. I'm currently working my way through all the previous story missions again. Figured I would go and get all the Korok Seeds as it looks like I'll need them all to unlock everything on the map. Gotta say, it's very satisfying revisting older levels and tearing through enemies with my much more powerful team. Love it. I've still yet to play the final misson. Still lots of side quests to be completed and tasks to finish. Playing through the story again will at least net me loads more materials I need to help complete the map.
  3. Monster Hunter Wilds (2025)

I was there day 1 for its Western release and it became one of my favourite ever gaming franchises. So many good memories from playing the game online back on the PS2. The servers were split and so it was just a small group of Europeans playing, so much so that you would always run into the same people time and time again. This built up some pretty solid friendships which in turn made for some great hunts. The way hunting online works in the newer games is far faster but it lost that community feel and became more impersonal. Crazy to see just how far the series has come from those humble beginnings.
  4. Contra: Operation Galuga (Early 2024)

Reviews are out and it looks like the Switch version is pretty rough, which makes sense given the state of the demo. Nintendo Life are usually pretty positive but they had this to say. Definitely looks like it's worth picking this up on another platform if you have one available to you.

I see Cena was at the Oscars.

Thing is, these are games that deserve a remake/second chance. TTYD has long been a fan desire to be remade. Mario vs Donkey Kong was a GBA game which is 20 years old now. Another Code are 2 games from the Wii/DS era. It's not as if they are releasing games from last gen. They already done that throughout the Switch's life with Wii U games. The only one that is a little questionable is Luigi's Mansion 2 and I say that purely because why put the second one on the Switch but not the first? Barmy that the full trilogy isn't going to be complete. As for Metroid, I still think it's coming for Switch, with an enhanced version on the next console. I don't think they would want to annoy Switch owners after they've waited so long for it to release.

That's pretty much how I feel. If certain stories are to be believed, he's become very arrogant in recent years.

Yeah, it's fine, as you said, it's working for him, I just think the other two guys have branched out more and shown how good they are in front of the camera. I love The Rock but there's no denying he's become a bit of a meme when it comes to his movie roles.

With Paper Mario: TTYD and Luigi's Mansion 2 now being dated (Pyoro was spot on again), I imagine that's Nintendo done for the first half of the year. Another Code: Recollection Mario vs Donkey Kong Endless Ocean Paper Mario: TTYD Princess Peach: Showtime! Luigi's Mansion 2 Not a bad line up for the first 6 months, especially when you consider this will no doubt be the console's final year.
  10. That's sooner than expected. Same goes for Luigi's Mansion.
  11. I've been trying out a couple of the unlocked characters. Finished up a couple of harder challenges today. One had me face off against 3 Lynels in a very small arena and against the clock. The other was called Hair-Width Trial: Expert+. This pitted me against a host of strong enemies. One hit and it was game over. I barely scraped by on both of these, despite being level 73. Fun though.
  12. Nintendo x Lego collab

Lots more sets for @BowserBasher to buy.

Yeah, the stuff about him making the Fast and Furious films where he wanted the same amount of lines/punches as Vin Diesel was bonkers. Agreed about his early stuff. I love The Game Plan and The Toothfairy is pretty funny as well. Gridiron Gang is another good one and that really showed his acting chops.

Sat and watched John Cena's new film (Ricky Stanicky) that arrived on Amazon this week. It was pretty hilarious. Crude but funny. After watching it I was thinking just how much better and diverse both Cena and Batista are than The Rock when it comes to acting. I was confused why Zac Efron looked so weird. He clearly has had work done on his face. A quick Google revealed that he apparently smashed his face in and his jaw was hanging off. Needed lots of surgery to fix it. No idea how true it is though as I know Hollywood stars have a thing about admitting they've had things like plastic surgery.
  15. Stop giving me more things to do!!!
  16. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (29th February 2024)

To be fair, you don't need to explore the open world. I pretty much sacked it off, just continued the story and it was fine playing it that way.

There's an old Yamauchi interview from 2001 doing the rounds on Era. The salty PS2 quote and his answer about online gaming are hilarious but the majority of what he says is scary accurate about what we are seeing in the industry today. All hardware being the same, ballooning development costs, diminishing returns on visuals, looks over gameplay, all true today.
  18. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (29th February 2024)

Don't worry, I'm very much in the minority when it comes to disliking the open world stuff. As long as you're having fun, that's all that matters.
  19. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (29th February 2024)

Crazy SOB. Yeah, a friend of mine said the Fall Guys one is a bit of a nightmare. I've yet to come across it.
  20. I said many and you are but one. Yeah, I know you're a fan of it but you don't see it talked about that often. The mainline games get all the attention. A lot of the characters are fun to use. I still favour Link and Revali but I've been having a great time using... There's certainly plenty of diversity between each of the characters and I imagine most will have a favourite, depending on how they like to play the game.
  21. I decided that this would be the next game that I would tackle from my 2024 Pledge list. Back when I first bought and played this, I didn't get very far into it. This being the case, I started it from scratch as it had been so long since I played it that I couldn't remember the story. The narrative has been a highlight of the game. Back when I played BOTW I was looking forward to an epic story but what I got wasn't that at all. Fast forward to AoC and I finally got what I was after. The music in the game has also been pretty fantastic. Lots of the remixes kick in at just the right moment to give that epic feel when you are in mid battle. There was one of the later stages (think it was the Great Plateau) where the main Zelda overworld theme kicks in but has a Halo-esque choir playing to accompany it. Sooooo good. The missions have been great to playthrough, with some offering a fair bit of challenge. Fort Hateno was really troublesome and required me to manage my team a lot better than I was doing and also restart sections a few times. Most of the main levels do feel like you are in a war and fighting for the survival of Hyrule, with massive amount of mobs and bosses been thrown at you. Like the first Hyrule Warriors game, it seems to have a stupid amount of content. I'm not sure I'll play through all the side missions ( finish 1 and the another 10 pop up ) but they are there for people who want more out of the game. I stopped at the final story misson because I figure once I clear that then there's very little reason or desire to play the side stuff. Once I get sick of all the extra content I'll then go tackle the final stage. Yeah, been really impressed with the game and think it's a bit of an underrated title. You don't see many people talk about the game. Maybe most just didn't enjoy it as much as I have?
  22. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (29th February 2024)

Now that I've finished the game, I've been able to look at the trophy list and have been mopping up some of the them. I've no intention of grabbing the platinum yet. It would require another playthrough on the hard difficulty but I also want to make it my 750th, which is 30 games/platinums away. Maxing your level your super easy. I finished the game at level 50 and that was without doing sidequests. Those who do decide to tackle them, I imagine max level could be hit before the credits roll. I've been having fun with the Queen's Blood card game. I didn't really faff on with it during the main story and wasn't really paying attention on how to play it. I've got the hang of it now and have won a few tournaments and nabbed a trophy for it. I've read that some of the trophies tied to mini games are a bit of a pain but I've not come across any difficult ones yet. I did grab one that was tied to playing a piano. Clearing each of the open world maps is gonna be a slog. Definitely something to just keep picking away at in-between other games.
  23. Absolutely gutted.
  24. Princess Peach Showtime (March 22 2024)

Just played through the demo and quite enjoyed it. I'm concerned though about how little platforming the game will offer. The bakery level (Peach's outfit is adorable) was essentially just a mini game collection. Still, it looks like it will offer a charming experience, if nothing else. Shame the performance is a bit ropey at times, which is pretty baffling considering the game isn't exactly pushing the Switch to its limits.
