    Loved that scene.

I couldn't get away with Afterlife and came away disappointed by it. It just felt like a retread of first movie. Also, I hated what they done with Egon's character and his relationship with the other OG Ghostbusters. Watched a couple more movies over the past couple of days. Creed III - Due to Stallone not being in this one, I wasn't too fussed about giving it a watch but I'm glad I did because I loved it. Majors done a fantastic part of being the antagonist and the final boxing fight was really well done. Training montage was a bit weak though which was a shame as I always love watching them. When Harry Met Sally - Loved this one. Given how much I enjoy Rom Coms/Chick Flicks, it's surprising that I've never seen this before. Billy Crystal is absolutely hilarious in it, although I'm on the side that doesn't agree with him about men and women being friends. I forgot how attractive Meg Ryan was before she ruined herself with all of the cosmetic surgery. It was nice to see Carrie Fisher in a decent sized role. It was rare to see her in big movies after Star Wars.

Man, this could be really special if they get it right, which they probably won't.
  4. I had a good chuckle at that one. The messages before the show started were also quite funny, with one popping up saying that they couldn't believe nothing had leaked. Decent show but as always I'm wary just how many of these will turn out to be good. So many indie games look full of promise but end up falling at the finish line
  5. Vampire Survivors

PS4/PS5 version finally announced for this Summer. Also, Contra DLC is on the way.
  6. Slay the Spire 2...as if @drahkon didn't have enough on his hands with Balatro.
  7. Patch was released yesterday evening. I had to replay a couple of levels in order for it to unlock. As well as the patch, they also added Infected Mode for free. It originally came with the special edition of the game so it was pretty nice of them to put it in this port.

I've been watching some movies over the past few days. It's funny, since cancelling everything but Prime, I have found myself more focused on what I'm watching. I think choice paralysis was certainly a thing when I had a bunch of subs. Over the past few days I have watched... The Negotiator - Haven't seen this since it was released on DVD. Great movie and cracking performances by Kevin Spacey and Sam Jackson. Coach Carter - Love this movie. I'm always a sucker for a true story, especially one that involves sports. It's up there with Remember the Titans and Miracle. Love this scene. The Upside - I've seen this before but wanted to give it a watch again. It's one of those times where an actor shows what they can do if they step out of their comfort zone. Kevin Hart is still funny in it but there is a serious side to him, which makes sense given the gravity of the narrative, and he really pulls it off. Ghostbusters 1 + 2 - Still absolute classics. I will always be in the camp of preferring the second over the first. Don't get me wrong, both are still amazing but I just find the second more likable. Vigo over Gozer any day. I didn't realise that the actor for Vigo didn't get to use his own voice in the film. He didn't find out until the premiere and was fuming. Watching the movie made me think of the cereal boxes that came out during it's release. You got free stickers in certain cereals and you could place them on the back of the box to create a scene. I've not seen/thought about these in decades. Really brought back the memories. Being a big Ghostbusters fan, do you remember them, @Helmsly
  9. Star Wars: Outlaws (Ubisoft)

  10. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

I fully finished the game last night, staying up way later than I should be on a work night. I actually enjoyed going for the platinum more than the main game itself. It required collecting pretty much everything in the game and this meant that I had to master all the abilities in order to get through the optional and very tricky platforming stages. Some of the most challenging sections are locked behind the side content, with one of the side missions being a very hard series of platforming jumps, where one wrong move and it was back to the start again. It was kinda like this game's version of Champion's Road. Getting around the large map wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. This was mainly due to having all the abilities at my disposal, as well as a lot more fast travel points to work with. This meant that mopping up all of the collectibles that I missed wasn't too much of an issue. Plus, the normal mob battles were easily dealt with now that I was fully powered up.
  11. Baldur's Gate 3 (PC out now/PS5 September 6th)

I hate it when I get like that. Usually I end up just sacking gaming off for a day or two and then come back to it a little more focused and refreshed.
  12. Football Season 2023/24

    Blade would have been happy.
  13. God of War (PS4)

    Fantastic stuff!
  14. Football Season 2023/24

Needed a win really though. It's now back in Arsenal's hands. Crazy title race. It's about time it was exciting again, instead of one team running away with it.
  15. Football Season 2023/24

Why we struggle against this Utd team is beyond me. They are like Klopp's kryptonite.
  16. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Finished the game this afternoon. Still plenty to do in order for me to unlock the platinum but I'm a little burnt out and will probably just chip away at it later. The overall size of the map is a little too large for my liking. Traversal in the game is amazing but even still, it turns into a bit of a slog when you need to backtrack, especially when you have no fast travel in the area you need to go to. Still, I had fun with the game and I applaud Ubisoft for making something like this. For a long time they've just churned out the same old stuff and so this was a breath off fresh air from them.
  17. General Retro Discussion

I loved Too Human. Played the Hell out of it when it was finally released. It was one of those games that got slated by critics but I really enjoyed.
  18. Persona 3 Reload (2nd February 2024)

I may have to track them down and give them a whirl. Both are on the PSP and the first was on the PS1 mini, which I never did pick up.
  19. Persona 3 Reload (2nd February 2024)

Have you ever played the first 2 games, @Happenstance? Just wondering how they play in comparison to the newer titles. I can't imagine they have aged well, especially the original game.
  20. Persona 3 Reload (2nd February 2024)

Not at all. I didn't even realise they were linked!
  21. Persona 3 Reload (2nd February 2024)

Finished the game in the early hours of this morning. Having now played the modern trilogy, I think this is my second favourite, maybe a tie with Golden at a push. That's not to say its a bad game. I loved my time with it, its just that I think 5 is absolutely amazing and this one certainly doesn't reach the highs of that entry. When I play a JRPG I'm usually there for the characters and story. The characters in this game great and I loved pretty much all of them but the story takes far too long to get going. When the narrative does start to pick up, it has pacing issues, with long periods going by where nothing is moving forward. Persona 4 Golden had this same issue as well. The repeatative loop of doing a dungeon every month is fine if you have a narrative carrot dangled in front of you but that doesn't happen enough in both of these games but it's something that was fixed in Persona 5. I think part of this issue is a me problem though. As I said, I'm here for the main narrative and in JRPGs most of the sidequest activities don't interest me at all. A lot of the time I find them to be all filler and no killer. The Social Link aspect of these games are a huge part of them but most of them I don't really care for. You do get a few good stories out of them, the dying man (Sun Persona) being one of them, but most are just schoolyard nonsense. I guess it's probably an age thing. I'm pushing 42 and I just don't care for the teeny bopper side of things. Had I still been in my youth then I no doubt would have been more invested in these things. When the main story was firing on all cylinders it was a fantastic ride. This is one of those games I'm very happy to have played. Having not got into the series until the 5th entry (played 4 when it was out on PS2 but it wasn't until after 5 that I eventually finished Golden on the Vita), it's great to go back and play through one of the fan favourite entries of the series. That's another JRPG down out of the early heavy hitters of this year. It was certainly more enjoyable than FFVII: Rebirth but I have a feeling that once I get around to Like a Dragon and Granblue Fantasy (still waiting for this to drop) that one of these will take the crown.
  22. Tekken 8 (PS5, XBox Series, Steam)

I picked this up at the end of last week. The game dropped to a more reasonable £35 and so I decided to snap it up. Really enjoyed playing this, which shouldn't be that much of a surprise as I do enjoy the series. The story mode was a decent length and has you going through Jin's history with his father, as well as everyone who is connected to their bloodline. Awesome cutscenes and plenty of anime type power up moments were to be had. During the campaign you are forced to switch characters a lot of the time. Usually I'm not a fan of this but the game has a feature which makes things easier to use characters who's movements you aren't familiar with. By pressing the L1 button you can switch to a mode that allows the game to string together combos for you by just pressing a couple of buttons. It made things much easier and allowed me to carry on through the story without get bogged down into learning new move sets. You can use this in any mode, even online. There's also a standard arcade mode which unlocks the story and endings for other characters. This is more like what you seen it the classic Tekken games, where you are pitted against the AI in a series of back to back fights and then get an ending scene as a reward. I played a little bit of the online modes, purely because I needed to for the platinum, and found it to be quite fun. Connection speeds were spot on and you could tell it players were using wired or wireless and then opt in or out if their connections were garbage. This is something any online games should have, especially ones that require fast and precise movements. I also toyed around with the avatar stuff as well. At first I found these lobbies to be quite dead and imagined most were just playing online straight from the menu but once I turned on the crossplay feature these lobbies burst into life and avatars were running all over the place. Great game. I mean, it's Tekken and if you've liked past games then this one will be right up your street.
