  1. Playstation 5 Console Discussion

Yeah, I feel pretty much the same. I can't see it getting any better either. There's only Shu that's left who seems to resonate with the PlayStation community. The rest just seem like a bunch of suits trying to nickel and dime the user base. As you said, the 3rd parties have done a lot of the heavy lifting and it's going to be interesting to see how things play out once the new Nintendo console arrives. If it's has enough power under the hood, I can see a lot of developers using that as their main platform, especially if it sells as well as the Switch. Apparently it's being worked on by the same guys who remade the first game.
  2. Comic Book Discussion Issue #2

I was doing some browsing on Amazon last night and seen there trade for Godzilla vs Power Rangers. I was tempted to pick it up. Have you read it, @Happenstance?

Charging top dollar for a MediEvil 2 remake is a bold move. I guess this is why they keep releasing versions of the original game on PS+ but not giving us the sequel.
  4. Your 2024 Gaming Diary

Nice write up, @Glen-i. It's a game I certainly want to play but I would like to go through Star Ocean First Departure R before doing so. That, along with a bunch of other SO games have been in my backlog for many moons now.
  5. Easy to do when you release a fully functional game and you are confident in your product.
  6. General Movie Thread

    Looks fun.
  7. These guys can't even get a showcase out on time. Such a mess of a company now.
  8. Football Season 2023/24

Very happy to see City being knocked out of the Champions League last night. Usually I still cheer on any English club that is in the competition but never them. I'm hoping Chelsea can do them over in the FA Cup as well. Rough week for both Liverpool and Arsenal. Both were in the title race and both were in European competitions. Title race now looks iffy, Arsenal now out of the CL and its gonna take a miracle for us to remain in the Europa Cup this evening.
  9. Finished MediEvil last night. It's ridiculous that this was added to the service when both the PS4 and PSP remakes are already part of it. There are countless other games that could have been added first. I can see why the game got a remake. Playing this version was a pretty rough experience. The controls aren't that great for a platform game and the camera was very ropey, with what little control you do have over it not being much help. Having now played all 3 versions of the game, this is easily the worst. I suppose it makes sense given that it was an early PS1 game and the other two versions were able to build upon what came before them. I'll probably go for the double plat and play through it again over the weekend. It's short enough to knock out in between playing something else.
  10. Indie World Showcase (17th April 2024 @ 15:00 BST)

I think I was spoiled by the Triple I show because I thought this show was pretty weak. As always, the stupid voice overs during the trailers were annoying as Hell. As someone who isn't invested in Silksong, its hilarious seeing so many get excited for an Indie show, only for the game to not show up.....again. You'd have thought people would have learnt their lesson by now.
  11. More people added to the pile. According to Era, that equates to around 550-600 jobs being cut. Here's the amount of profit TT have been pulling in over the past few years. Take-Two Interactive Software annual gross profit for 2023 was $2.285B, a 16.04% increase from 2022. Take-Two Interactive Software annual gross profit for 2022 was $1.969B, a 7.17% increase from 2021. Take-Two Interactive Software annual gross profit for 2021 was $1.838B, a 18.83% increase from 2020. Absolutely ridiculous that these types of profits are being pulled in and yet people are still being given the boot.
  12. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Sword Rain...pfft. Dude has clearly ripped off Vyse.
  13. Your 2024 Gaming Diary

@RedShell Yeah, the original Dead Rising is fantastic. I had a huge amount of fun on it back when it was released on the 360. The sequel is pretty good as well but everything after that turned a bit rubbish. You're right in saying that the amount of zombies on screen back then was super impressive. I think there was an achievement for killing 50,000 of them or something ridiculous like that. I vaguely remember having to drive around in the tunnels in a van and grind the kills that way. That Garfield mod looks hilarious.
  14. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

That's pretty much the whole game. I enjoyed it but its certainly not for everyone.
  15. Football Season 2023/24

Good first half for your lads, @Julius.
  16. Football Season 2023/24

I also think Nolan is overrated and I don't think much of a lot of his movies.
  17. Football Season 2023/24

I just can't see City dropping points. Maybe against Spurs but other than that they seem to have a pretty easy run.
  18. Football Season 2023/24

I still don't rate the guy. Majority of the time he's walked into a club with a stupid amount of money to spend.
  19. Football Season 2023/24

Congrats to City on winning the league.
  20. I figured I would create this for those who are looking to play online. This will stop invites and session times getting lost in the main thread.
  21. Football Season 2023/24

    Best not to.
  22. General Movie Thread

Sat and watched a few more movies over the weekend. Expendables - The fourth movie is hitting Prime soon and so I figured I would give the others a rewatch. The first one is great because this was when Stallone wanted to make an OTT action movie and didn't care about the age ratings. Terry Crews' shotgun alone should have earned an 18 rating. As the series went on, the violence got toned down, as did the age rating. Always loved the speech Mickey Rourke's character gives. Olympus Has Fallen - I never did watch the final film in the trilogy and so I decided to start from the beginning and to through them all. Good action flick and pretty brutal at times. Gerrard Butler isn't that awful in it either. White House Down - Naturally I would go from the last film to this. Crazy when stuff like this happens in Hollywood. It's like when Deep Impact and Armageddon were released around the same time. I enjoyed this much more than Olympus has Fallen. It's more of a buddy action movie, with Fox and Tatum playing off of each other quite well. The scene with them driving the limo in front of the White House, all the while rockets being fired at that was hilarious, purely because of how ludicrous it is.
  23. Share your favourite comedy specials

Another one of my favs. Actually sat and watched it again the other day due to this thread.
  24. Football Season 2023/24

Fair to say our season is imploding at the moment. It's been the same for the past couple of weeks, so many chances in front of goal but just can't put them in the back of the net.
  25. Your 2024 Gaming Diary

After the Triple-i event, I decided to play through some indie games. I played and enjoyed Coffee Talk a year or two back and figured I would give this a go, given that it's pretty much the same kind of game. I wasn't that big of a fan of it. The narrative wasn't as interesting as Coffee Talk and I really didn't get on with the UI when it came to making the drinks. It felt very clunky, although I imagine it would be fine using a mouse and keyboard or a touch screen. There was at trophy for completing a mini game that you end up unlocking. Its a good job I had been playing Cotton over the past couple of weeks because otherwise I would have struggled with it. It's a ripoff of that and pretty brutal as well. Such a weird thing to put in a VN game. This was a fun little game. You have to collect pieces of map that are scattered around the area and then place said pieces to create a bigger world for you to explore. For example, if you come to a dead end, place a map piece down so you can move forward. Want to reach a cave that is out of reach? Pick up the map piece, rotate it so it fits and place it down. It's very, very clever and surprised just how well it works. I LOVED this. I vaguely remember @RedShell enjoying this a couple of years back and now I can see why. It's a massive love letter to Pikmin and plays exactly how a top down, 2D Pikmin game should. Instead of a whistle to call your creatures, the main character rocks what is essentially a Proton Pack from Ghostbusters. You suck up the little creatures to get them back to you. The development team knew what they were referencing because when you fully upgrade it this is what the trophy us called. Yeah, loved this to bits and it's up there with Bat Boy and Tinykin as some of my favourite indie games I've played this year. I also played through the GBA WarioWare game. This was due to Nando posting about his adventures on the more recent Switch version. Its been years since I played the original game and so set about fully completing it. This required me to unlock every mini game and also beat the high score on each of them. This took some doing and so I was just tackling a few at a time, in between other games. It was fun playing though it again and reminded me of when it was first released. I would take my GBA to work with me and during our lunch break, me and the lads would take turns trying to get the high scores.
