  1. What Have You Bought?

Good thing you didn't get it on Orange really, their firmware is said to be shocking on the Apollo and ruins it.
  2. bad stuff thread.

Thanks They're in everyone's room in my block, not just mine. It's just mine has the most in it. I've emailed the main uni accommodation office who forwarded my email to the manager of the uni accommodation I'm in. The manager women met me face to face for a chat and she turned out to be pretty useless to be honest.
  3. bad stuff thread.

My uni room is plagued with silverfish: They're everywhere and annoy me (and freak me out that they could be crawling all over me while I sleep)! I've complained once and they sent out a pest control chap who sprayed my room, now 1 1/2 week later they're back! I've just found one, dead, in a glass of water I was drinking earlier which I left on my desk. Nice. £110 per week I pay. The manager of the accommodation is a massive bitch and keeps fobbing me off on my complaint. According to her silverfish are common in hotels and houses so I shouldn't be bothered by them. Mler. Any advise?
  4. Personally I'd call that cheap after only 1 year of driving on your own policy.
  5. My thoughts are that December 31st 2012 is ages away. :P In theory I think it sounds good for men. I've been driving almost 3 years now and have never come close to having a scrape or a bump, yet I still pay almost £1000 for a 1.1 £400 Rover. The trouble is that we all know insurance companies will do pretty much anything to get more money out of you, so I can't imagine much changing for blokes at all unfortunately.
  6. The Hobbit

First Image of the cast: I didn't realise I liked some many of the actors they'd cast. I'm looking forward to it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903624/
  7. Photography.

Canon 400d (it's getting on a bit now) and the 1st and 3rd photo were the standard 18-55mm lens and the zoom ones were with a tamron 70-300mm lens.
  8. Photography.

At the time it was more a "Oh shit that's big!" rather than it making a nice photo. :P I try to exaggerate the colours a bit, or as close to as the eye would see it. Sometimes I go a tad too far with the saturation though (Opinions?). I just like how it picks up the spray in the water pics.
  9. What Have You Bought?

New Bike + all basic kit. Towbar for the Rover Next purchase will be a towbar bike rack no doubt
  10. Photography.

A few i took last summer (I'm in every one):
  11. Mobile Phone Chat

Free unlocking for San Francisco (ZTE BLADE) here (http://www.nextgenserver.com/calculator/) all you need is the IMEI number (Select ZTE and leave the model as ZTE Bluebelt) that gives you a code that you enter when you put your O2 sim in. This forum is very useful (http://android.modaco.com/category/453/zte-blade-blade-modaco-com/)
  12. Mobile Phone Chat

I bought the San Francisco a week ago. Like Odwin I've unlocked it (very easy) and also installed a custom Rom (again quite easy). Basically it acts like a phone worth a lot more than it actually costs. The camera is the only negative, it is very bad. This doesn't really effect me though as I never user a phone camera.
  13. Mobile Phone Chat

Just a heads up to anyone with a 3 contract. I'm 12 months into my 24 month contract and lately I've been having really bad signal, since about August infact. Anyway yesterday I gave them a ring to complain and gave them a few postcodes where signal was bad. It turns out that since August they'd scrapped the 2G service across the country so whenever I wasn't in a 3G area i would get no signal at all. Anyway long story short, they let me out my contract without charge and I get to keep my phone. Win
  14. bad stuff thread.

Since we're slagging off the couriers, it turns out Home Delivery Network have lost my parcel altogether. It's been in their depot since the 9th December according to track, and even a phone call to a friendly women who personally went to look for my parcel didn't turn up anything. I've never liked the home delivery network...
  15. Grass (Weed)

My reason would be that I'm really not fussed. There's quite a lot of things I wouldn't want to try (smoking, shagging a man...etc). It might be that there are no proven harmful effects, but I can only assume I've been brought up to believe that the people that do it are generally idots. It just doesn't interest me in the slightest.
  16. Grass (Weed)

Never tried it, never will, then again that's not really much of a surprise as I don't drink either. I can't say I'm particularly bothered about finding any buzz effects in my life... Well, not from drugs (and other such things) anyway. I don't mind other people doing it where It doesn't effect me, I just don't like the smell. If anything it gives me a headache and resembles the smell of weird tea bags. It surprises me how the majority of people have actually tried it.
  17. Socks and Sex

Perhaps do a little bit of forward thinking? Go ninja style and stealthy slide the socks off as you remove your shoes when you enter the room. When the sexy times come a rolling you don't even need to worry about the sock scenario and you look like a hardcore knowledgeable porn star.
  18. good stuff thread.

I hope I will, well I'm going to try and keep it up if I can. I do advanced open water next semester as it's part of my uni course and I can take it further the year after by doing Dive Master. It's subsidised quite a lot so worth it for an experience.
  19. good stuff thread.

I'm now officially a PADI Open Water Diver since completing the final test today. Well I'm not until I get my card, but close enough.
  20. Buying presents for others?

This year has been particularly hard to buy for people I've found, mainly because of the bloody snow but also because I just can't find anything decent. I'm all for surprises at Christmas, but it's always nice and easy to have someone who is specific in what they'd like.
  21. Hull is fairly snowy. Snowy enough that I'm not bothering going out in my car, even the main roads are still snowed up. I've heard from my parents that back home (Mansfield area) it's a hell of a lot worse. I was planning on going home this weekend, but that's not happening.
  22. Black Friday deals

I'm assuming the "waiting in the queue" for over 10minutes doesn't mean I've got one?
  23. New Computer

Hey, basically I'm after a new computer and I don't really know if I want a laptop or a desktop. At the minute I'm using a 4 1/2 year old Acer Aspire laptop and it sounds like an aircraft taking off (the CPU fan in knackered, sometimes it doesn't even start) So to me this is a good reason to buy a new one. I'll be going to University in September so I really don't know if it's best to buy a desktop (just the tower), then possibly buy a net book once I've saved up or just buy a laptop. I'll be using the computer for Photoshop CS5 and photo editing, possible gaming and normal computery tasks. My budget is around £400. And I have no idea what's good or rubbish. I have been looking at laptops and spotted http://www.ebuyer.com/product/186603 Is it any good? I haven't actually looked at desktops yet so I don't really know how they compare (I'd be happy to build one). I would appreciate the help. Thanks
  24. Need a new TV for moving to Uni

I'd go with the 22" LG. Full 1080p, lots of sockets (I'm assuming you'll be connecting your xbox by HDMI?). In my opinion a decent price for what you get. The only problem with a TV monitor is that the sound tends to be a bit tinny and crap. It might be worth plugging in some speakers. Then again it might be okay as it is
  25. What Do You Do When You Go For A Poo?

I can't say I spend that much time on the toilet when I need to go, well not enough time to take part in reading/gaming activities anyway. I do read the back of bathroom products when I'm there, just because I can. Also: I can happily say I'm a sitter and a folder It's a toilet seat, sit on it.
