  1. Trauma Team :(

I would love to play this game. Own both the other Wii games. This is one of those few times in the modern day where I'm genuinely angry at a missed PAL release.
  2. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

Man Kojima is full of shit. He was intent on MGS4 being his last MGS game as director and here we are again. Same with Shinkawa actually. I mean I'm not complaining, but I wonder if he just can't escape the franchise or what. Game looks good anyway. Uh no, it's Big Boss. He just ages Big Boss a bit more in each game.
  3. Sequels you would like to see

Sequels to Wii games: Other M sequel - fix up the shit they got wrong: the bullshit writing, awkward first person mode and crap soundtrack. Keep the general gameplay mechanics and visual style and I'm happy to see another one of these games. Warioland: The Shake Dimension - fantastic platformer and a joy to look at. I would also type Trauma Centre, but oh hey Trauma Team does exist, just not fucking here.
  4. Team Ninja would like to make another Metroid

Uh what, because Adam has backstory now? All it really does, for me, is makes Samus look like a complete fucking moron for being shocked at the "twists" in Metroid Fusion.
  5. Team Ninja would like to make another Metroid

Fine! The general gameplay for running and gunning and the visual polish on Other M were both fairly good. The aiming gimmick was a bit shit but I don't blame Team Ninja for that. The biggest 2 issues I have with the game are terrible writing and boring music. The former is self-explanatory - it was Samus character assassination and severely cheapened the plot of Metroid Fusion. Most people probably don't have an issue with the music, but I had a serious one. There isn't a SINGLE memorable track really except maybe the music from the teaser site and that's only used in the ending of the game! The entire rest of the Metroid franchise has good music. Metroid 1 has Hip Tanaka's genius score which basically set the mood for the franchise. Metroid 2 has the awesome tunnel theme and the soundtrack as a whole retains a great atmosphere. Super Metroid - legendary and perfect. Fusion, some good tracks here and there, does the job well. Zero Mission - also legendary. Prime Series, goes without saying. Even Metroid Prime Pinball. I don't think it's coincidence that the 2 worst games in the franchise in my opinion (Hunters and Other M) have probably the worst music. Music is key to the Metroid franchise, for nailing the mood and identity of the environments you explore. Other M's soundtrack is insanely fucking lazy. That's what you get when you use a composer that's never composed a videogame before this. Hence why only the cutscenes have decent music.
  6. Toughest moments on Wii

Most of Trauma Centre: New Blood on singleplayer is a nightmare.
  7. Mass Effect 3

You know, the fact the extended cut will be on the disc actually makes this feel like a more robust game than on other systems. Like, on the current consoles the extra stuff is "tacked on" but here it's there from the get go. I like how that makes it feel more integrated with the game experience out of the box. If we could have inter-system save file transfer I'd consider rebuying on Wii U. Sadly, that will never happen. Of course, the game might run like shit anyway though, so we'll see how that goes.
  8. Sonic Adventure 2 HD

I found this game marginally better than SA, simply because it's more playable. The camera doesn't go mental as often as it does in the first game. However, it still kind of sucked and I don't really get the excitement.
  9. Grand Theft Auto 5

Shots are nice, but Rockstar feeling pressured into posting them doesn't seem like the best sign. It kind of makes it seem like they weren't holding back because of some secret, well-prepared and long-planned marketing campaign, which is what I had hoped was the reason for silence, that they had it all "under control" and were waiting for just the right time . It seems more like they're "slogging away" on the game and still don't feel "ready" to show it off in great detail, but unleashed these just because they felt they had to, in order to prove the game still existed. I'm just not getting the same aura of creative confidence from GTA5 so far as I have from virtually every other Rockstar North GTA game since GTA3. I hope this is all bullshit though and the game is fine.
  10. Epic Mickey 3DS: Power of Illusion (Nov 23rd)

^It's not lazy to "not make your mind up" when the differences are marginal. That's when it's hardest to know, so letting the consumer decide makes sense. I prefer the one without characters because I prefer less clutter.
  11. 3DS XL

So. 1: You're right, the 3DS XL is being made as to 3DS as DSi XL was to DSi. Except, that was after they'd dealt with issues with the 3DS. DSi in particular has a lot over the original DS. With the 3DS it's like HEEEYYY let's just forget the part where we fix genuine faults and just skip to marginal improvements. The 3DS XL isn't the problem in itself, it's what they've basically skipped over that's the issue. 2: So your argument is, the number of games that use CCP is low, so it's not important to have the stick on 3DS. So, (i) that's because it hasn't been out long, (ii) why is that even a valid reason, when fans want it and developers ARE adding support in? It'd gain more support if it was built in, obviously and can always be optional but ALWAYS be a great option to have. On it never being used exclusively, so? The big screen will never be used for essential gaming purposes, but we're getting one right? Why are we getting one? Oh, because some people might buy it. Why would an extra stick be a good idea? OH, BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE REALLY WANT TO BUY IT!
  12. 3DS XL

Yeah, God forbid that they make sub-optimal products obsolete and thus are able to stop wasting shitloads of resources. The original DS Phat was made obsolete. Was that bad? No, no of course it wasn't. No one had to buy an ugly brick anymore. Making the original 3DS obsolete doesn't fuck over people who own it, because they have the circle pad pro as an option. Just like how having Motion plus built into the Wii remote now doesn't fuck over people with original wii remotes, since the attachment still exists.
  13. 3DS XL

This decision in its entirety is so brutally fucking the fanbase over that I'm actually tempted to just boycott Nintendo products from here on out. Fans wanted 1 thing from a re-design, the extra stick as part of the system. That's it. What we get is something no one asked for, that accomplishes the following amazingly dick-ish outcomes. 1. Create a market for chargers to be sold separately, solely for the sake of selling more chargers 2. Offers a new model that competes with the original 3DS instead of replacing is, therefore giving people reasons to own both, instead of just one of them, yet still with a sense of dissatisfaction even if they do have both. 3. Leaves all the people who were waiting for a redesign STILL waiting for a redesign, except now wondering if Nintendo even give the faintest shit about whether or not they buy the system, even though they actually WANT to buy it. I'm in/was in that group. I want a 3DS, but I was waiting for Nintendo to do the sensible thing. Except, they haven't...and apparently wont? Fuck them.
  14. 3DS XL

So uh, assumedly this wont fit into the pre-existing Circle Pad Pro, so will require another one to be made. HOW FUCKING BIG WILL THAT BE? This system, with the circle pad pro, will probably be literally un-portable. Like, the size of carrying a psone around in your pocket. It's seriously annoying. They knew there was a huge audience of people who wanted to buy a redesign. A redesign with obvious improvements that were essential. Not necessarily one that's massive though. So what do we get? A redesign with improvements (fixes DS resolution issue? No more shitty two-tone. Bigger) but ignores the MASSIVE GLARING PROBLEM people demanded, 2nd control stick. And now if there is a circle pad pro xl, the system will be massive, heavy and unwieldy. Good job Nintendo, A++!
  15. Mass Effect 3

For anyone moaning about what you'd need to play again to see the Extended Cut, well watch all the options on youtube then if you really can't be bothered.
  16. Luminous Studio: Final Fantasy Real Time Tech Demo

^Stuff like this is I guess. Mixture of 2005 and 2006 videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxCupcM4EYg I remember one of the first things I saw was early videos of Unreal Engine 3. I think it was first shown at GDC 2004? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=501tSvxnSEo - I saw a GDC presentation I think, not this narrated video, but this is basically the same tech demo.
  17. Nintendo Land

I wonder if Nintendo will record statistics of what games are played the most and use that to determine what franchises have the most demand. As in, massive logical fallacy, totally ignoring people will play the good minigames the most, regardless of franchise. Hopefully they don't do anything like this.
  18. New Super Mario Bros 2

    Mario teaches Capitalism.
  19. A new Zelda showing in the 3DS conference??

To be honest, much like they had "too much Wii U softare to show off", I think the same will go for 3DS. There'll just be SO many games that they'll naturally have to go in the total opposite direction and show us absolutely nothing! I expect that they'll spend a lot of time talking about the titles we already know about, with needless amounts of detail into the mechanisms of basic controls.
  20. SiNG

Okay, so people actually saw a game after all then? Perhaps I missed that, I didn't see any gameplay, literally just one people being able to read song lyrics and everyone else singing and dancing and pretending they were interacting with the game? You may as well just put the song on your PC/iPod/Stereo/whatever and have someone read lyrics off a page if you want to sing and dance in your living room.
  21. Mass Effect 3

  22. SiNG

No discussion on this is necessary. I think on announcement, all our thoughts and feelings were in perfect harmony and we all collectively understand what we think about this "game".
  23. Mass Effect 3

^I do think people who miss out on Mass Effect are being deprived of one of the most important franchises of this generation. I absolutely love the series. That's the best thing about this coming to Wii U really. Despite it being a kind of gimped Mass Effect experience, at least Nintendo-only gamers get an opportunity to step into the universe.
  24. Watch Dogs

Exactly the type of game that WOULD have sold the Wii U, using the type of gadgets this game has on the screen. But, currently unannounced for it. I wonder if the Wii U can run it. Anyway, looks great of course.
