  1. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

It's a shame that it's only nostalgic stuff like this that does this to me, but this is the most excited I've been by a Nintendo announcement in years. Probably since the Other M announcement actually...hopefully that's not a bad omen.
  2. Breaking Bad

Yes, open-ended finales are both possible and often very well done. WHEN THEY'RE INTENDED. Season 4 was clearly not written as an ending. The show has always been set up as going all the way down to the last moments of Walt's life. Really a big driving theme has been seeing what kind of man Walt is going to die as in the end. The show is driven by moral philosophy really and I don't feel we had an adequate ending regarding that theme at the end of season 4. However, that's not to say that I don't feel the first half of season 5 has weaknesses. It certainly does. However, just because season 5 doesn't currently feel as strong doesn't necessarily mean it should have ended at season 4.
  3. Breaking Bad

Sorry, explain how on earth the end of Season 4 has everything "all tied-up" please?
  4. DuckTales Remastered (eShop)

Fantastic, but I wish it was entirely hand drawn. The 3D backdrops are a bit generic. This is the main thing that matters though.
  5. PlayStation 4 Console Discussion

You know, I wont deny it, usually regarding the other systems I'm a bit spiteful. I want to see them fail. I want to see things like Sony E3 2006. I'm satisfied seeing a screw up, from some egotistical Nintendo Elitist perspective of feeling like only Nintendo "deserve" true success. But with Orbis, I want to see something interesting. I want to be excited. I want Sony to show me that they can do it right, that they can go forward into what's going to be the most difficult generation ever and produce the goods that meet the challenge. Nintendo fucked up. They deserve to be whipped here. I've heard the specs Sony, now show me the package. Show me why I should care about a next generation. Show me it's gonna work.
  6. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros.

The ending of this game better be that the whole thing was dreamed by someone else, like Wario or something, who ends up extremely confused and then wonders if he existed or if someone else was dreaming of him... ...the end?
  7. 3DS Console Discussion

With the new Nintendo Direct and noticing some other upcoming titles, the 3DS is finally looking like it has a pretty robust library to me. May need to finally pick one up soon...
  8. ^I'm not sure if that's true, but I love the idea that DNF's absolute dominance regarding DELAY POWER was so mighty that the game ended up with the ability to delay games that previously had been completely unrelated to it. It's beautiful. Let's hope it hasn't also infected this game with the stench of shit.
  9. Would anyone like a game where the 3 universes collide? Like, the fabric of Zelda time & space is effected by these 3 most important threads (let's assume they are the most important) and Gannon/a new villain is able to discover a rift between them and change worlds, coming up with a cross-dimensional plan to gain inconceivable power? Thus begins a collaboration of Four Swords Adventures, Spirit Tracks universe and Adventures of Link universe? The end result of the story would be permanent unification of the 3 worlds, creating a new existence. Epic? Too silly?
  10. Changes and Opinions

I prefer less to more in general. So I appreciate revisions that condense unnecessary sections. That said, my main thoughts on making a "Nintendo discussion" section are "Well, I guess it's true there's a lot less to talk about nowadays that gets people excited, so I suppose separate sections are unnecessary". I don't THINK that's what you were really going for, but it was my first thoughts upon seeing the change. It does kind of come across as an implicit concession of that point. Anyway, you know what I hate doing on gaming forums? Going across a few pages trying to find a thread for an upcoming game that should probably be on the first page. Yes, I could use search. I think we're all lazy though and prefer to just scroll down the first page if possible. As long as this format doesn't mean relevant upcoming games are constantly being pushed away to other pages, then I guess it's fine. 3DS/WiiU thread icons are an absolute must though. EDIT: And I see they are implemented already. Only thing is the 3DS one is too small.
  11. Rayman Legends

Uh oh. This isn't very good, Nintendo.
  12. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct

My reaction to this is a bit like the zombie's expression in the op.
  13. Lego City: Undercover

New trailer is good. Game is looking smoother. This is the most robust looking upcoming game in terms of scale, content and creativity ant it's almost certainly going to be a legendary bomb.
  14. HMV closes 63 UK stores, all Irish stores

Thank fuck. I was annoyed as I had an £8 one that I got for returning a friend's christmas present (he had the movie already). It isn't much, but it was just really bad timing. I wonder how many people will be flooding the shops tomorrow.
  15. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Wii U

Been playong this the last few days. Excellent kart racer. Been playing multiplayer campaign mode, with gamepad and classic controller. I have seen plenty of frame rate issues and I seriously doubt it's "some people are just unlucky". I haven't seen much of the game in exclusively single player mode though. Perhaps it doesn't happen in singleplayer and perhaps that's why some of you have seen less of it? The worst offender is the Monkey ball level with the whirpool section. The area shortly before that part gets to like 10fps or something. Anyway, it doesn't spoil the game though and apparently these issues are there on all versions, so whatever. It is certainly more robust than the recent MK games, at least the ones after MKDS.
  16. Street Fighter X MegaMan

This is a genuinely fantastic idea and completely uncharacteristic of Capcom. Cool!
  17. Reggie - CNN interview

I lost serious respect for Reggie on hearing this. There's no way to even spin it as half-truth. It's just a massive bold-faced lie.
  18. Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 not expected to sell huh? Makes me wonder now if they'll even bother having any way to download the DLC included in this version, or the online multiplayer. Wouldn't surprise me if they skimped on setting up an infrastructure for any of that stuff. What would be the point if no one is going to buy it?
  19. Kingdom Hearts/Chain of Memories HD

I like the idea of maybe being able to play Final Mix.
  20. Wii U Approaches: Backlog Battle!

Games I should get through on Wii....okay: *turns chair around to look at shelf* -Donkey Kong Country Returns -MadWorld -The Conduit -Trauma Centre: New Blood -Dead Space: Extraction ...the last level of Zack and Wiki They're all partially completed but...eh...I don't know if I can be arsed with some of that. Bugger The Conduit.
  21. Region locking: good or bad?

As a younger guy, I wanted to play Xenogears and Chrono Cross. Later, I wanted to play Katamari Damacy (the original). Now, I want to play stuff like Trauma Team. Region locking is always the thing that stops me from having a way to do this, except piracy. Of course I can shout at publishers and complain that they didn't bring the game here, but if it weren't for region locking, I wouldn't have to. I understand why it's necessary, but it ALWAYS sucks to be locked out of a game, possibly a great one.
  22. Robocop

It reminds me of this. That's not a good thing.
  23. Forum User Photos

Have I ever posted here? I have no idea. Oh well. This is probably me. which I guess makes this me as well. Hey and maybe this weirdo too.
  24. NEW! Super Mario Bros. U

I'm pretty sure Serebii is suggesting that because it's "timeless" it will never be outdated at all. Which is rubbish in my opinion and gives Nintendo a free ride to never bother trying creative aesthetics in a new Mario sidescroller. I'll be willing to let them away with it for this game though, but only because the HD assets and parallax scrolling are impressing me just enough to like the visuals of the game. Still, it is kind of lazy that they haven't tried a fresh approach for a new generation.
  25. Nano Assault Neo (eShop)

It's a port of a 3DS game. Anyway, loving this is available. I'd honestly want to play it on the controller more than the TV though.
