  1. Metroid Samus Returns for 3DS (2D Metroid game)

This game is great. So happy to be playing another sidescrolling Metroid after 12 years. The 3D use is very good too. Makes me miss 3d on the Switch. Also, I like that the combat is focused on the precision of free aim. Gives it a fresh feel compared to classic Metroid combat and it's nice. For anyone mentioning the ice beam power - freeze then missile. I do it all the time. I like that it gives me a reason to use regular missiles outside of boss fights.
  2. Splatoon 2

It's funny, the original was so well-received but this is generating no hype. I think the problem is it looks like the same game. It's the total opposite of most Nintendo sequels.
  3. Will you be getting a Switch at launch?

I don't know. Before the price reveal the answer was yes. Now I am so convinced they need to lower it that I'd feel like a total idiot for supporting them at this decision.
  4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Great game that I'm definitely not buying again. I wonder if the DLC is bundled or not. Edit: ok it is. Good
  5. 1-2 Switch (March 3rd 2017)

This game is a problem. It's supposed to be their Wii Sports equivalent system seller for casuals from the looks of it. Yet I don't have a clue how to play any of the games. "You don't look at the screen" ok cool. But what do we do then?
  6. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

If hardcore Nintendo fans are hesitant to buy it at launch for 279.99 who the hell will. Remember getting a Gamecube for 130? That was amazing. Before something sayss huurrr inflation, 1) not that much, 2) I'd pay more for a Gamecube than a switch at this point. Back then I was salvating at all the exclusives coming.
  7. Ultra Street Fighter 2 - The Final Challengers (2017)

    Well, ok then Capcom. Thanks.
  8. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (2017)

Looks good, but I dont like the main character design at all.
  9. Arms

Project H.A.M.M.E.R looled kinda fun. Wouldnt have bought a Wii for it though. This title falls in the same category for me.
  10. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Just Zelda on launch isn't enough, not at that price. I don't know what they're doing.
  11. Arms

Looks like the type of game they were trying to sell the Wii on in 2006.
  12. Super Mario Odyssey

    I cried tears of joy.
  13. Metroid 2 fan-remake

I played this for a while tonight. Excellent game so far and a fitting tribute for Metroid's 30th birthday. Shame Nintendo don't have the same respect for the franchise as the fans.
  14. Just had to be the SNES. When a system has 3 of your favourite games of all time on it (Super Metroid, A Link to the Past and Super Mario World) it becomes hard for any other system to compare.
  15. Super Mario Maker Level IDs

Bullets in the Wall. C276-0000-0088-AA21 You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse Main concept is wall jumping + bullet bills. Shorter than a few of my other levels and a bit easier, but I find it pretty fun. There are 2 main branching paths but within one of those paths there are 2 additional secret rooms (1 of which is in plain sight, the other less so).
  16. Super Mario Maker Level IDs

The Maze Beyond: 6A64-0000-0080-4B6C Difficulty: Medium to hard Description: An auto-scrolling ghost house level. There are a few paths to the end, but also a number of wrong turns (although I've structured the level that most of them wont penalize you with death, although there's not much I can do if you get caught in the middle of one of the maze segments).
  17. Super Mario Maker Level IDs

So as the 3 tracks I've uploaded prior to this have plays but 0 stars I tried to pour much more energy into a course today. The result is this course took about 10 hours across today to make. The competition out there is crazy. I never thought it'd be so hard to get 1 or 2 stars on a course. Ayway The Elevator of Doom. C34D-0000-0055-09AD It's a castle level focused on the illusion of vertical height and rising up throughout the castle on elevator platforms, avoiding numerous deadly obstacles. There are 3 secrets paths, although the 2nd does require the 1st to get to, so maybe 2 and a half.
  18. Super Mario Maker

Is there an easy way I can share screenshots from my levels without some outdated capture setup or something? I'd rather not be taking cellphone pictures of my screen. One of my favourite levels of the ones I've made so far, but was still on a limited toolset (unlocking and what not). Thwomp-note Castle CF04-0000-004C-418C
  19. R.I.P Satoru Iwata

Iwata took the wheel of Nintendo's ship when they were sailing uncertain waters during the Gamecube slump and the gamble of the DS. He ended up steering them to an unparalleled success with the DS and Wii, a success that next to no one saw coming. It should also never be forgotten that he was an amazing programmer for Nintendo in the 90's, who achieved some incredible feats (like compressing Pokemon G/S enough to be able to include all of Kanto). And of course, he was part of Nintendo's amazing personality. He started becoming public around the same time as Reggie and together they shaped Nintendo's promotional image for the last decade, cumulating in many memes and memories. However you feel about Nintendo's recent decisions, I don't think anyone can deny that his loss has left a massive hole in Nintendo, one that will be difficult to fill. RIP.
  20. 3DS StreetPass Plaza

Dunno if there's a more appropriate thread for this but today I finally passed Arcade mode in Streetpass Squad/Mii Force (North American name, which is where my 3DS is from). I really like the weapon customisation in that game, I think it's a good schmup with the only real flaw being that it's a bit short. That and well, you can't quicksave during arcade mode to go into at a later point. I think hard mode in it is an insane challenge though, which I can tell I'll never accomplish. Has anyone ever finished that?
  21. Nintendo Activtiy Log 2014

Unfortunately there's not an easier way, because god forbid the Wii U having the same level of functionality as its handheld counterpart. I mean obviously home consoles just aren't ready for that level of customisation. I seriously resented having to add up the totals. Not because I'm lazy, but because Nintendo is.

  23. Bayonetta 2

How anyone got through the original just "button mashing" is a mystery to me. I played on the normal difficulty and found dodging to be crucial throughout the game, as was choosing what order to attack enemies in. Sure, mastery of the combo system wasn't a necessity to beat it, but if that's a complaint then that's a complaint with virtually every game that exists that has a combo system - you can always beat them by using basic moves and less skill, it's just that if you use that approach you'll be dying a lot more rather than mastering the game. I'm only a few levels into Bayonetta 2 but so far I enjoyed the original a bit more because the sequel is very safe so far. Like, maybe it'll freshen up as I progress but so far I may as well just be playing more levels of the original. There are many things that are essentially exactly the same too, e.g. Rodin's bar scenes and the "alfheim" style sections (almost idential environment, just darker). I prefer sequels that change things up a bit more than this, but hopefully it'll have more impact as I get further through.
  24. Mario Kart 8

DK Mountain was in MKWii. Where it should stay...
  25. A Link to the Past or Super Metroid?

No game matches the atmosphere of Super Metroid. It should always be anyone's choice, regardless of question asked. "Cookie or crisps?" "Give me Super Metroid".
