  1. NBA Jam!!

Has there been any announcement regarding what is happening with the game here in Europe? Most stores either de-listed the game, or are showing it as coming out in 2011 (some, such as Amazon, displaying dates as far as August 2011!). HMV is still showing it as being released this month, and displays it as a HMV exclusive. Is that it: HMV has an exclusive on the game until well into 2011? What a mess EA did with this game. I think they managed to piss off everyone, on all platforms.

    Shut up Rez, you kent
  3. PlayStation 3 Console Discussion

Yes, you will. All countries in Europe (as well as Australia) share the same region code: B. You can check a map of the various region codes at Wikipedia. (Scroll down a bit) Also, some discs are region A, B, C, so they work on players from all regions (commonly called "region free" discs). This site is very handy for you to check the codes of various releases.
  4. In most countries, stores are legally obligated to have a complaint book, which costumers can use to "voice" their dissatisfaction with that particular store's services. I'm not familiar how it works with online stores, but I want to file a complaint about a UK online store (in this case Gameplay), and I was wondering if anyone knows what's the proper channel to do so?
  5. Thanks for your reply, but I want to file a proper complaint to whatever institution that is responsible for supervising UK stores, not send feedback to the actual store. And I already spoke with their customer service, which again were pretty much useless, since they are unwilling to acknowledge their mistake and fix it, even when presented with pictures of the product I received. Yet again they sent me a used game, unsealed and full of their store stickers, a game they sold me as new (and I paid as such, it wasn't one of their £5 or so games that was part of a special sale). And yet again, I'm asked to spend more money to return the product to them (and I'm not located in the UK, so it's not as cheap as that), so that they can refund me the product or send me a new copy (which, on a few past occasions, resulted in me receiving a product in the same condition). Basically they don't fulfill their end of the deal, and I have to pay additional funds for them to fix the situation. What's better is that I was told maybe it was an ex-display copy, and even thought the game was removed from it's shrinkwrap, had the Microsoft seal removed, and the disc and case were handled by several people, the game is still brand new, so I have no reason to complain. That's funny, because if I receive a sealed product from them and I open it, they obviously won't allow me to return it for a refund, because the game is no longer new and sealed. And the same thing applies if I go to one of their stores to sell a product, they obviously won't pay me the same for a brand new and sealed product, and one that was already opened. So for some things, unsealed is still new, and for others it's a used product. Quite coherent... This is an unacceptable (and frequent) practice, and I won't let them get away with it one more time. It's not fair to sell something that wasn't what was advertised, and then have your customers spend more funds to fix what was their mistake, not mine. I would be really grateful if anyone could help me out finding what's the institution I shall present my complaint to.

I kept mine on the default selection, so it was slit between all 7 entities.
  7. PC Gaming Discussion

They are worth it: -Penumbra: Overture is a physics based first person adventure game, and it was critically very well received (so much it spawned 2 other titles) -Gish is a fun platforming/puzzle/... mix, and one of my favourite PC indie titles from the last few years. It's great fun, and it has plenty of content and modes. I still haven't played enough of Aquaria and Lugaru HD to make a proper judgment (I got the pack for these 2 titles; I previously owned the other 3), but so far I found Aquaria to be a very relaxing game (and graphically it looks great, the graphics look hand drawn), and Lugaru HD is a fun title, well known for it's fast-paced combat mechanics.
  8. PC Gaming Discussion

Yeah, that's the thing: these are actually all quite fun (and well known) games, and not one of those packs with 1 or 2 interesting titles and the rest is filler. I already owned 3 of the titles, but ended up buying the pack to get the games I was missing (I had my eyes on Aquaria for quite some time, so I finally added it to my collection).
  9. PC Gaming Discussion

For those still unaware, there's a great deal going on for charity in which you can pay any amount you want for a bundle of 5 great indie games: -World of Goo -Aquaria -Gish -Lugaru HD -Penumbra: Overture The games are available for Windows, Mac and Linux. http://www.wolfire.com/humble This is a great pack. All 5 games are worthwhile purchases, which makes this pack even more appealing.

Still a day one purchase for me...

Yeah, my main interest for backwards compatibility was because of Yakuza & Yakuza 2. They look awful on my HD set. A blurry mess. By the way, I'm located in Portugal. I had a look around, and all I've seen are the recent models. I guess I'll ignore backwards compatibility, and get one of the slim models.
  12. PlayStation 3 Console Discussion

Sorry, I forgot to mention I'm not from the UK, so most UK onlines stores like Game are off, because they don't ship hardware outside of the UK. What's the reference for the backwards models, so I can try to locate one locally? Additionally, is there really no way for the recent models (such as the slim models) to run PS2 games?
  13. PlayStation 3 Console Discussion

Sooner or later I'm picking up a PS3, basically for one motive: the Yakuza series. Nothing new in me, since I only ended up buying a PS2 because of Yakuza and Yakuza 2... I'm a huge Shenmue fan (my favorite series of all time), and looking at Yakuza I couldn't help but see a bit of a resemblance between both games. Yakuza turned out to be a bit different from what I expected, but I still rather enjoyed it. I call it Shenmue's evil cousin. Anyway, I haven't followed the differences between the many versions of the hardware (both different revisions, and the typical different packs with larger discs). I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple of quick questions: -what model/version should I get? I would like, if possible, to have backwards compatibility, but I believe only the first model was able to do it, and those are probably only found in used state, which I don't want. -what accessories do I have to buy when purchasing a console? I know the HDMI cable isn't included (or at least it wasn't a while back), but for example to connect to the internet (wired), do I need to purchase anything? -what PS3 exclusives do you guys recommend? I'm looking for RPG's, story heavy games, or games a bit out of the ordinary, and not FPS or the usual GT, Metal Gear or the Final Fantasy series, I never cared for any of those series. For example, from the games I'm aware, I would like to pick up Infamous, Heavy Rain, Demon's Souls, Siren: Blood Curse and The Last Guy.
  14. Mass Effect 2

Bioware mentioned plans of "paid" DLC, so either way you'll have to pay for some of the future content. One of the rumored DLC you may have to pay is the new character, Kasumi.
  15. Mass Effect 2

I managed to get my hands on the Terminus Armor and M-490 Blackstorm code, so from all the available DLC I'm only missing the Incisor Rifle, which was given away with the Deluxe Digital PC version of Mass Effect. I normally wouldn't care much for these pieces of armor, but there's so few options in Mass Effect 2 I can't help but be interested in these bonus pieces. The cool thing about this code is that it includes the M-490 Blackstorm, which is the probably the most interesting of all the pre-order bonus content, and the one piece I was really looking forward to acquire: --- The new (free) DLC is up.
  16. Mass Effect 2

You can check the new armor here.
  17. Mass Effect 2

Bioware is releasing a couple of new items (Cerberus Armor and Eviscerator Shotgun) as free DLC tomorrow.
  18. Mass Effect 2

Your call, but it takes less than 5 minutes to register all codes. When you create your accounts at Dr. Pepper, it doesn't confirm the info you fill in (for example, you don't have to use real emails). The cool thing about the code(s) is that, like the Collector's Edition and the pre-order bonus codes, each unlocks the content for both versions, so if for example you own the Xbox 360 version and pick up the PC version at a later date, the content is present in your account.
  19. Mass Effect 2

I don't know if everyone is already aware, but there's a few pieces of DLC that were given away free with purchases of Dr. Pepper in the US. It was found out that the redemption codes are not unique, so anyone can get the content (which, once redeemed, works for both PC and Xbox 360) by following these instructions: http://hellforge.gameriot.com/blogs/Hellforge/Mass-Effect-2-Free-Dr-Pepper-Promo-DLC-Codes And speaking of DLC, I managed to trade the extra C.E. code I had for an Inferno Armor code, so currently I'm only missing the Terminus Assault Armor and the Incisor Rifle (the later only included with orders for the Deluxe Digital PC version of Mass Effect 2) from the bonus DLC.
  20. Mass Effect 2

If anyone happens to have any of the bonus content codes (except the one from the collector's edition) that some stores were giving (for example, Play), and is willing to trade for the one included with the collector's edition, let me know. I bought the Collector's Edition for both the PC and Xbox 360, and having registered the first of the Collector's Edition codes I noticed it actived the content to both the PC and Xbox 360 versions.
  21. So far there's been 4 compilations of SNK titles for the Wii: -Metal Slug Anthology -SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 -Samurai Showdown Anthology -The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga I own the first two, and after having a blast playing the SNK Arcade Classics vol. 1 (I enjoyed it so much I actually ended up putting aside both NSMB Wii and Muramasa :p), I decided to purchase the other two compilations. The thing is, none of the UK online stores I know have the title available, apparently it was never released in the UK. I did find the two titles I'm missing at online stores from other European countries (Amazon.fr, Amazon.de, ...). I was wondering if anyone knows if the German or French releases of both Samurai Showdown Anthology and The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga have English language options, or if there's any other European country were the compilations were released and were sold with English covers (unlike the German and French releases)?
  22. SNK compilations for the Wii

I know. (também sou Português, bem sei o que isso é ). It's just most online stores apply discounts to their items, which in the case of these items on Bol they were clearly being sold for the full retail price.
  23. SNK compilations for the Wii

Wow, those prices are high. For the price of each of the titles on the store you linked, I could purchase the 2 compilations either from Amazon.fr or Amazon.de. Yeah, most titles have between 5 to 9 languages, but since the distributor in those 2 countries in not the same as in other regions, I'm not sure it applies. It's very likely English is included, but I just wanted to confirm to avoid buying expensive coasters...
  24. Stars Catalogue/Updates

I ended up spending my points on the Game & Watch Collection. Does anyone know the full track listing for the Animal Crossing CD? I was wondering how it compares to the CD commercially released in Japan.
