ROADER
My god, Wheelie. What happened to you?
If this enemy is anything like Wheelie, then I'll be doing this mode more often than not.
POPPANT
Reminds me of a cartoon. Nice design, though.
BYTAN
The pokéballs have come to life! Run for your lives!
Fact: Most ball shaped enemies tend to be annoying and/or irritating. Judging from their numbers, seems like they'll follow that trend.
TROWLON
Flying carpets are evil now?
SHAYDAS
Poe (Twilight Princess) + Gerudo Warrior (Ocarina of Time) = Shaydas.
Cool.
AUROROS
Woodpeckers are always nice.
Finally we'll be able to use them as swords/spears.
GREAP
Fact: Giant Scythes in arc attacks are effective.
This guy is gonna hurt.
The R.O.B. Squad
Finally, an admittedly familiar face.
Seems R.O.B. is also evil now. All those years of neglect have turned him to the dark side.
Expect Virtual Boy to come next.

I never heard of this game 5 minutes ago. I just read the name "Meriel" and found the interface very similar to Fire emblem. Just googled these keywords.Is it part of the Fire Emblem series. I found the title on a Fire Emblem site and the character art is very similar.
I found it in a Fire Emblem fansite as well. Serenes Forest.
It's not a part of the FE series (it's on PSX), but was produced by one of its creators.
The game's interface is very similar to Fire Emblem, from the dialog boxes to the weapons to the units. It even was called "Emblem Saga" in development stages. Nintendo even filed a lawsuit because of the similarities.

Tear Ring Saga: Ytna Heroes Saga?You're right.
I certainly didn't expect to be answered this quick. (5 minutes! )
I think it's Utna, not Ytna, but that hardly matters.

What I want in 2008?
-A Wii (I'm just waiting for Fire Emblem/SSBB, I swear!)
-SSBB/Fire Emblem
On a more serious mood:
-F-Zero Wii Online. If it could support a good number of human drivers (10+) I would definately buy it on launch day;
-Drill Dozer 2. A franchise with such potential for further games shouldn't be wasted. The Wiimote and 3D could add more puzzles and platforming originality.
A 2D DS game would be fine too;
-A game where the plot advancement is similar to Metroid Prime.
In other words, a plot, world and setting you have to discover by yourself. No cutscenes, no important dialogue. The only thing that advances the plot are boss fights and location discoveries.
If you don't bother reading scans/clues/descriptions, you don't understand what you're doing.
I don't care if it's a futuristic or medieval setting or if it's 1st or 3rd person.
I want more games like that.
For the DS:
-Donkey Kong Land/Country styled platformer;
-Fire Emblem DS;
-Wario Land DS (not in the style of WL4);
-Adventures of Lolo revival;
-Elite Beat Agents 2;
-Mole Mania revival (this franchise needs to come back. I can think of a few innovations/additions they could do for new puzzles and they don't even need the touch screen).
Heh, seems my list is bigger for the DS than for the Wii

I am just starting to play Metroid Prime 2 now. Playing it the second time all I can say is that it's really underrated. Don't know why people give so crap to this game. IT WAS GOOD!!!!!!People keep comparing it to Metroid Prime 1.
Echoes ain't a bad game, but out of all the gamecube games it's the only one that keeps getting that treatment.
To be fair, any game looks bad when compared to Metroid Prime.
-
I'll bet we get the shielding update tomorrow to compensate :pI actually want some clarification on that. I have seen characters dodging without the shield bubble popping into sight.
Add that to the fact that Mario can shield while attacking with the FLUDD and I can tell some things has changed.
-
I was starting to get suspicious about such an important update on a Tuesday... but it's the 100th update, so it doesn't matter much.
Of course the best part of the update is Sandbag himself.
Best loading screen EVER!
-
The final boss was a bit crap though, not hard, and it wasn't even a metroid. Now, the meta ridley fight on the other hand...Well, it is a bit hard to compete with the Meta-Ridley fight...
And Metroid Prime didn't return in MP 2, either.Go watch the 100% ending and then tell me if Metroid Prime appeared in MP2 or not...
-
I don't mind if wavedashing is out tbh. It's only in the game to prevent us from air-didging through the level, so if they can stop that from happening it's all right.The question is: How can they stop it?
Air dodging in any direction is mainly used for escaping any enemy offense. If the best way to escape is towards the ground, then the Wave-Dash is there to make it work on the ground.
It works specially well with Luigi and Samus (for me anyway).
Do you think they would remove this mechanic just so the advanced players don't use it for running faster (or better mindgames)?
-
It's funny how so much of melee was designed around the hardcore game yet you say the opposite. Also, we've already established that wavedashing isn't a glitch. Pretty much all glitches are banned from tourny play anyway.I don't know if Melee really was designed around the hardcore gamer (gameplay-wise). I bet the prgrammers were surprised as well when the competitive side of smash started to become popular.
But I'm sure that won't change for Brawl, I mean, they already know how competitive smashers play the game. Any change they do to that metagame will be felt, so I don't think anybody's going to try to hinder the competitive scenario. I'm sure even Zero Suit Samus is available without the Smash Ball.
About Wave-Dash, you're right, it's not a glitch. It's just a gameplay mechanic that was explored beyond belief. If they take away Wave-dashing, they take away the gameplay mechanic, so I think that technique is probably safe.

Hm, it was from the interview where they also talked about a Wind Waker Link. Looking back, it does sound a little ... dubious.That was just a rumour that grew WAY out of proportion. The people at Smash Boards found a few plotholes in that interview and labeled it as fake. Seems they were right.
The full rumour said that I.Climbers and Mr. G&W were cut and Ridley and Bowser Jr. were added. It also said Y.Link was replaced with Cel-Shaded Link.
But as we now know, that was just made up.
Now that I think abou it, a Young Link update to the WW Link would be cool.
By the way, Mr. Game and Watch clearly attacks with sausages.:wink:
-
Look at that, the Ice Climbers are back!
And they look better than ever. Gotta love the fuzzy coats and the detailed leather gloves.
I wonder if they're gonna have even more tag team moves. And what could their Final Smash be?
EDIT: I just realized, the fact that they're symbol comes right before the Animal Crossing one means that symbol 13 is a veteran as well. And the only symbol left is Game & Watch...
This Ice Climbers update re-confirmed more than one character.
-
That would mean you would now be able to damage someone with it on if it returns. Otherwise it would be a pretty boring match if noone could get hurt when you select clear mode.Invisible melee didn't give you immunity, but the cloaking device did.
By the way, can't wait to try Fast Mini Light Bunny Brawl! In the flying pokémon stage too!
Or the Fast Mega Heavy Metal Brawl in Skyworld!
God this game is gonna be truly epic.
-
Cool update. Now there's something I wish was in melee.
I hope you can control your HP, now. Being limited to 150 really sucked.
What is "Clear" in the body option? I have no idea.
And now we have Bunny and/or Metal Brawl.:yay:
Two of my favorite transformation items.
-
They are leaps and bounds beyond the poor backgrounds in Melee.The backgrounds in melee were great in several stages. You just have to pay attention to the small details.
The rainbow in Kongo Jungle, Cranky's cabin in Jungle Japes, the owl statue and the moon in Termina Great Bay, the original buildings from Earthbound in Onett, to name a few.
Brawl's backgrounds may be amazing, but the ones in Melee weren't exactly poor.
-
Yeah, you're right.
I was hoping this game was a little more on the unknown side.
But I guess your username does you justice.

I'm sure some of you know one or more of the characters in the picture.
The question is: What game is it?

KING DEE DEE BRAINWASHED/ABSORED BY EVIL POWER!Meh, it wouldn't be the first time.
I still stand by the theory that the Ancient Minister (or at least the mastermind behind all this) is a known character. But who?
*hint*Fawful?*hint*
I won't be happy unless his taunt is the same. :pAs long as Falcon keeps the Taunt, Falcon Punch and exagerated yells, I'll be happy. Those are what made him.
About the stages, there were 29 stages in melee. Even if Brawl is to have the same number, we have only seen little more than half.
Some of them are wackier (WarioWare, Rumble Falls), others are flatter (Smashville, Battlefield, Delphino Plaza). And many of them are very different than what melee did (Castle Siege, WarioWare, Smashville, Bridge of Eldin).
I wouldn't worry too much about the end result.
By the way, I'm predicting that tomorrow we'll have a Game Mode update (probably about the Emissary), a Final Smash or a B-Move update (if double update, a combination of those three).
Friday I think we'll have a veteran update (I'm guessing Captain Falcon).
-
Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot about your pic, Tales. (Still don't know what it is, but I'm sure I've seen it somewhere)
And Deathborn is right. Wario makes a cameo in that game using his Wario Land 4 sprite.:p
You still got Tales of Rebirth right, though.

The Halberd Stage, generic substance? Did everyone here miss the part with the huge cannon? I know it's not much, but still...
Okay stage. I never particularly cared for it when first announced and still don't.
-
The 2 is exactly what I meant with Smash Calibur. She really has nothing to bring compared to others sword-wielder characters, especially considering there is Meta-Knight for super fast character, Link and Pit for bow. With Ike using also sword, maybe the return of Marth, Ganondorf which may use a sword (which will be huge if it's the case so different to handle), they would have to make 4 unique sword or bow moves which can be quite difficult.Oh, ok, I see your point. You meant that she doesn't have anything that makes her stand out from the other characters. You only mentioned the sword, hence the misunderstanding.
To be more accurate, he use magic items. I know he can warp at least (don't play all the game so I don't know if he use other things).I completely forgot about that one. Maybe it could be a recovery move?
By the way, he doesn't use any other of those fancy tricks in Path of Radiance. Don't know about Radiant Dawn, though.
-
What about one of the mages? I've only ever played Sacred Stones, and I can't remember most of the character names, though.Micaiah is the only mage that stands a chance. But it would definately be interestling.

Piplup
This is one of the Pokémon you can choose at the beginning of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It’s quite charming, so I’m sure there were quite a few people who chose it.
It emerges from the Poké Ball!
Suddenly, it starts sliding around using Surf!
The simpler the stage, the greater the effect of this may be. If you’re wondering why, it’s because anyone who gets caught up in that surf will get washed away with Piplup.
They’re getting washed away!
If you get washed away, do what you can to get back. Even simple characters like this really stir things up on stages.

Marril Version 2.0, heh?
Not that I mind. Marril was cool and all, but very easy to escape.
I hope this guy is more effective.
