Yeah I agree with this. I think you need to avoid previous stereotypes that have been attached to gamers and what they want, and now focus on the mainstream. Think of Jonathan Ross' Film 200X, it features interviews, his quick opinions/views on recently released films, a run down of the current boxoffice charts and also manages to keep a slice of humour throughout in someway. I think that's what you should be aiming for, as gaming has now reached mainstream unlike when GamesMaster was around. It may be boring stuff and not be what the majority of the hardcore want to be watching, but I'm no big film buff unlike I am with games for example, and while I watch Film 200X I feel like I'm being informed. Maybe you should be asking the typical EA game buying crowd, as that's where future audiences lie in a gaming TV show. Also, I may need to speak to you soon BGS about Lincoln/Hull and recent developments there to do with the Hull Campus (if you get what I'm talking about?)

It wasn't at all a stab at you! Just purely suggesting that in light of recent events we're now missing two users who provided answers to alot of peoples problems...........we can still have a crack by all means, but they've nearly helped everyone in their time with tech related issues.

I think that's because there's no one really here anymore who has the sort of skills to diagnosis peoples typical computer problems. I would check if your monitor has the same problems during running games or using any other applications. But I would advise kicking IE straight away, as we all know what produces better browsing results (firefox or opera). Also make sure you run an ad-scan, as you say you've got no spyware, but have you really checked or just assuming? Your problem is so vague that I doubt anyone will be able to give you a quick and useful result with the information you've provided.

What was so funny about that was the added smile on the end............it makes it seem like asthma is a good thing nowdays. :wink: But tees will most likely end up on my UCAs form, I'm just worried about all the travelling, as I'm based very much south of the country.

Going through Uni courses at the moment, and have been all day, weighing each one up and talking to some contacts from CGtalk about them. Teesside has now moved up my imaginary chart of what's a decent uni. It's all so worrying, and UCAs forms have got to be in soon and I'm also wondering if I'll be able to walk out of uni and into a straight away.

I've received a total of 15 since R-E opened. None of them would really be of any interest to anyone, but I'll let you know that they've all been very welcoming and friendly.

Considering your spelling of the word thought, then it's no surprise to me that you thought it said that. But I have to say that I was alittle concerned with my choice of domain name, but it's got to stick as it rolls off of the tongue nicely. That sig I created was such a half-arsed job though, and I'm really not impressed with my efforts on it. Your sig is bliss though, and captures the retro spirit with two Nintendo nes classics. 9/10

Yeah, retailers do make bugger all on games. They typically buy a £34.99 game for around £23, then the 17.5% is then taken. So retailers are looking only at a 10%-15% profit max like Offerman said, and while it's Christmas and retailers are competing it'll most likely be even less than that. And play.com rock, as they happily sent me a £5 voucher. :wink:

I'm not all that familiar with US hardware prices, but I know NewEgg are by far one of the better places to buy from. Ebay won't always give you the best prices around by the way. And that monitor excepts both standard VGA and DVI, so either of those graphic cards you listed will be fine. So you're tempted by that X800XL for $355 (inc. delivery), which I find to be quite overpriced compaired to this X1800xl for $375 (inc. delivery). Or if you really want the Nvidia option then this 7800GT priced at $369 (ends 22/11 though at that price) is a hell of alot cheaper than the one listed on ebay. Out of the two I would get the Nvidia 7800GT purely because of better drivers. So in future always check Newegg for hardware prices in the US.

I slept earlier today when I got in from college, that was from 5pm round to 11pm. So I obviously can't get to sleep, so at the moment I'm sitting around playing in Photoshop (hence new sig). Also got work tomorrow, so I best get a little sleep at some point.

I like it alot, it's also quite original and goes with your username. Some pointers though, I think you should add a boarder, center the sig, and reduce the size a tad. Still, it's easily worth 8/10. I've finally made a new sig, which is my first one on display on the new forum. It will soon be linking to my online portfolio and online blog, but that may all take another 6months atleast to set up as I've got to design and code the site. Be kind on it!

Yeah, that's right. The PC CoD2 was ported to the 360 aswell (more horsepower), but apparently the 360 port is quite inferior to the PC version in quite a few ways. I've yet to play the 360 version, but someone posted that on their blog after having some play time with it.

System Restore I recommend, then you may be able to see what caused it.

The PC game Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 2: Big Red One are totally different games. The PC versions hold up as the benchmarks for the whole series, so you're unlikely to get a console version that's as good. CoD2: Big Red One isn't developed by the same team that made Finest Hour either, but if you're after a fun shooter then I can hardly see you being dissapointed with it.................(it's not Medal of Honour afterall!)
