  1. The first series is 24 episodes and 2 specials, and the second series is 12 episodes. It's a bit of an accquired taste, however, and bears more resemblances to TV drama than to most anime shows.

Have you seen Welcome to the NHK? You might enjoy that more. (it's 24 episodes)

    No, what is it about?

  2. Well, I finished the second (and final) series of Honey and Clover, and the name finally makes sense.

I recommend it to anyone who likes very realistic anime.

Any recommendations on a short anime series i could watch?

Is Honey and Clover short because i might watch that.

  3. I love them,I thought they done a really good job.

    Damn you FMA dub haters.

Now i'm gonna beat you even more at MK

    LOL don't hate me:D

Ok maybe 'hate' is a too stronger word but FMA was the first anime dvd i bought. I listened to it in english and thought fine but as soon as i switched to japanese and then i went back to the english it was no-where near as good. Compared to the japanese i think their bad, but again not the worst dubs ever. This is the point in time where i became a fan of the subs!!!

  4. My ears!

I feel used. I've always hated dubbed, got extremely angry after I had gotten a dubbed FMA. Winry sounded alright but I was listening to it thinking this doesn't sound Japanese.

I didn't watch the rest of it.

I hate The FMA dubs, they are painful to listen to.

  5. Battle Royale 8/10 great movie, forgot i'd recorded it and watched the last bit i had not watched the other day.

King Kong (Peter Jackson) 8/10 The ending is so sad. Poor King Kong so misunderstood... he only ever wanted to be loved:sad:

  6. Seven is an odd number to use....why don't you use an even number?

6 1/2, its gets the half because the final ep made me cry a bit.

As i said before seven is a wierd number to use, i guess you must be insane.

LOL i'm not actually insane. It was just the first thing that entered my head when i read your post.

  7. They should go to Venice which is a beautiful city and the second best city i have ever been. It is so different than any other place. In venice you go everywhere by boat. The first time you see the city floating on water is amazing. There is also a lot to see in venice and lovely resturants along the canals and down the little back streets.

  8. I don't think I would ever watch a new series solely on DVD. The Eureka Seven DVDs are exceptionally well made, the commentaries, interviews and stuff that comes in the special editions - but fansubs will always be better than dubs and DVD company subs. Fansub groups know what the public wants, they find the best possible translation, making sense but remaining completely accurate, plus the text always looks nicer. I find that DVD sub groups are more often not a translation, but just a semi-transcription of the English dub.

I would kill for E7 in DVD quality but with the Nanashi fan subs, that would be ideal. Same with Naruto, the quality is so much nicer, but the subs by Manga are just awful.

I know what you mean the fan subs are better. On the Naruto unleashed DVD, apparently they changed Ramen to Pot noodles because they did not think we'd understand what ramen is and wanted to appeal to a wider market. This however completely takes it out of its cultural context. As if naruto would ever eat Pot Noodles!!!

  9. Watched the first episode of Noein and it's pretty good.Definently looks interesting cause of it's concept but I have a feeling it might information heavy aswell, cause there was parts I was like "Eh?"

On the whole looking forward to watching more.

I watched the first episode of noein a while ago. I remember liking it but as you said the series could be information heavy and i would need to sit down and concentrate on the series. How long is it? It will probably be one that i watch in the summer along with Eureka Seven.

  10. I watched Lucky Star episode 1. I thought that it was a bit slow at first as they spent half the episode talking about food, but it managed to keep my attention (which is a hard thing to do) and on the whole i liked it and thought it was funny. I liked the street fighter reference as i love the games. It was better than i thought it would be.

Episode 8 of mai hime was excellent.
