  1. Watched The Great Gatsby last night. Unfortunately i had to go the a Vue cinema on a Tuesday, which meant i got ripped off, and then insulted as they repeatedly asked for my ticket and double checked i was sat in the correct seat. Then they had 30 mins of adverts (not even trailers) before the film. I fucking hate Vue cinemas.

My local VUE has cheap tickets on a tuesday... ?

Only found out when I went to watch Iron Man 3 and I just had to sign a quick registration form for 'Vue Super Saver Tuesday's'.

  2. Could be a different battle = more bullshit to fill a new series because the events were so terrible none of it was revealed. EVER.

Lol, possibly but Moffat likes dropping hints in episodes and I reckon that one in Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS was one of them.

  3. Just had to rewatch the last coupla minutes of the episode just to remind myself before I would've made a mistaketastic post.

Whatever bad stuff this Doctor did, surely it must be forgiven/accepted since shitloads of life thrived thanks to the Doctors involvement:

All the planets disappearing when he was being raped out of time.

But here's to another season of random shit all being tied up at the end by the final episode to make the fans explode their jizz.

Wikipedia fapping: "The Valeyard... He is described as an amalgamation of the Doctor from between his twelfth and final incarnations." ??

Also about River: When did she die?

River died in series 4 the library episode, basically the first time we seen her on screen. Good old time travel, they have been going in opposite directions kind of thing.

I really enjoyed that episode, good finale!

I am pretty confident it is the 9th doctor. In the centre of the TARDIS episode Clara said she seen the doctors name in the time war book... in this ep the Doctor said he doesn't class John Hurt as a doctor so would have used his real name in this case and so a hint that it is timewar Doctor.

  4. Just a warning, some Americans somehow received their BluRay copies early (like a week early, what's with that) and it contains the last episode, including the final five minutes which were not revealed to anyone. As such, the internet is likely to fill with spoilers

    Thanks for the warning! :)

Going to have to not google anything Dr Who related!!

  5. I don't understand why they aren't leaving little clues or doing a running theme, like with the 'cracks in the walls' or other such running threads throughout a series.

Probably because people were accusing the show of being too complicated. I can't remember where I read it, but particularly with series 5 finale I remember reading.

They have made quite big point with Series 7 as a whole to be single episodic stores (hence why we have had no 2 parters etc).

I agree with you in the sense that I do miss that kind of stuff, however this finale has the potential to be super awesome with it's promise and may link to a lot of things.

I'm hoping they will actually address how the TARDIS blew up at the end of series 5 with the message 'silence will fall'.

EDIT: Just a thought, the only other 'hint' we have had (potentially) is Clara getting the impression the TARDIS doesn't like her, might be nothing but they have brought it up more than once.

  6. It wouldnt surprise me if the movie ended with Clark donning the glasses and joining the Daily Planet.

I was thinking they might do this.

Like near the end of the film he realises that he wants to lead a more 'normal' life to talk to people n stuff without everyone being like 'OMFG ur an alien'

But whatever happens I would just like to say, I am super super excited for this film!! More so than Star Trek (which is really saying something - as I am for that as well)

  7. I live in a town called Winsford in Cheshire which no-one will have heard off... Except @Aneres11 & @nightwolf! ;)

As it is basically in the central of Cheshire it boasts the headquarters of both Cheshire Fire & Rescue and the Police...

Apparently it has the largest salt mine in the UK and is only one of 3 commercial sites where it is mined. So there is a very high chance that all that salt on the road which helps keep you safe is from my little town! ;)

Oh, and it's a shithole with nothing else decent in it.

  8. Update from me!

I went to see PT again on Tuesday and was weighed in again. Well chuffed.

Lost 9 pounds total weight but gained 6 pound in muscle compared to the figures it given off in Feb! (the scales give muscle weight/body fat % etc etc :D So I am now 15.2 Stone.

So he has given me a new program to work on now. :)

  9. I thought it was a decent episode, although in the end it didn't really get across what the danger of the planet parasite thing actually was. Some good character moments with brilliant acting, and I thought the make-up and effects were brilliant.

I wonder how long The Doctor will use Amy's glasses for.

Pretty much my thoughts on this weeks ep.

Id say the weakest of 'series 7' as a whole so far.

  10. Ooh, I didn't notice that was the same actor! I don't think this is the same Clara, though; the Oswin name has followed all the incarnations, and the Dalek Clara was on a space cruise, implying she was from the future, and didn't know who the Doctor was. She was a computer genius, though, but her genius status seems to be a trait of the character in all incarnations.

Oh, and apropos, another reference: The girl's name was Nina - the nickname Dalek Clara gave Rory.

Near the end the CEO referred to the screen as 'The Great Intelligence' as well. So yeah it looks like that could be a re-occurring theme, GT knew UNIT were really old friends with the Doctor as well, suggesting it is building up a lot of knowledge....

Puzzles though, who was the woman in the shop that gave clara the Doctors phone number? Saying 'best helpline in the universe'. I'm guessing it could be River?

And in Clara's book where she has been crossing out each year with the leaf... it is missing 16 and 23 birthday (I only noticed 23 missing, when I had a look a again to check I wasn't seeing things I noticed so was 16. What could that mean though... if anything!?

  11. Just a warning: In the preview I saw with The Hobbit (3D IMAX), the 3D for Star Trek Into Darkness was awful and made me dizzy (it was glorious in The Hobbit). It looked like lots of 2D cutouts and was extremely distracting.

And the film won't be available in 2D IMAX.

    You have destroyed me.

How come it wont be in 2D IMAX?
