What sort of display is that on? Would it make any difference on a regular CRT TV? I actually kind of prefer some of the composite images, because then you don't notice rough/pixely edges on some stuff. (I do appreciate the comparison muchly, because I'm pretty much the same as kav82, and had no idea of what sort of difference there'd be)

Like you, I'm considering trying to play with my left hand, see how it goes, because I think it'd be quite good for my left hand, and I also want to see if there are any problems with playing left handed, bar the fact that my left hand sucks.

I hope they let you convert VIP Stars into wii points, even if it's at a lower rate (like 1 wii point per 4 stars. I've got tons of stars which I've never used ebcause everything in the catalogue is crap.

Interesting, but don't they still have lots of preorders left to fill? As for the RGB cable, can't you just wait and see? I don't see it hurting to use the included cable for a few days if you have to order one?

It's been done already! :p Does anyone here actually have a TV that faces toward's a window? They maybe should have made a little sort of shader thingy, to make sure the bar will always be in shadow from direct sunlight.

Where's the best place to get SD cards, and in particular, an SD card reader/writer which I can easily connect to my computer, all for a good price? I'm looking to get a 1GB SD card and a reader writer, so I can hopefully keep all my wii stuff on my computer too.

I didn't know of many people who thought the sensor bar recieved while the wiimote sent, then again, I only knew how it worked due to reading wikipedia a while ago. It will work much better(probably rather shoddy otherwise) with a sensor bar though, as the wii is designed to calculate the IR based on the positioning of IR emitters as is in the sensor bar, I think. Lol! That made me laugh, is anyone here actually likely to have that problem?

Me neither. Dilli Gee, I would like to see you post some proof of your silly claim. From what I can see, people are either outraged about both, or don't care about either. I find them both amusing myself. I never though opinions would be so extremely split on such a thing though, tis interesting.

This topic makes me very happy, but also very sad, I sure as hell hope my parents aren't thinking of pulling anything like that on me! I'd love to get them playing some wii tennis though, it'd be well funny to pit them against each other! Just 16 days to go now...

I reckon the reason for that is for the wii to get its wii specific code registered on the wifi, to then be used for encryptions and protection of the VC titles to that specific wii, maybe. Do you know if there are any sorts of problems with very large SD cards? There was word of incompatibility issues.

Isn't there still the possibility of some secret super fantastic channel? It'd be good if they made some sort of thing where you could actually make your own little VC wii games, and they had a Wii marketplace type thing for it.

That would have looked much sweeter, if they'd stood it on the side then taken a full swing at it *imagines PS3 crumbling in the middle* I wonder if people who care about this would care if it was done 2 years from now? Or if it was done with a gamecube right now? Or just something else, like a brand new TV? Would it be such a big deal if the PS3 and Wii weren't in such short supply?

Why don't give it to them? WHY give it to them? I still can't understand what there is to be offended about, it's not like they stole someone's PS3 and did it, or stole a pre-order, or bullied their way into getting a PS3 or anything. Not only that, but it's just 1 console, I think the people who are reselling are much worse, but as with the guys who smash consoles, the people who resell have legitimately obtained their consoles and are free to do what they want with it after. Before they started with the sledgehammer, they should have thrown it high up in the air then let it fall back down to the ground(would have also been nice to see a fanboy run out from the shop queue to catch it, miss it, and lose his place in the queue). I think the guy with the hammer was hitting it pretty hard, but the thing was just built very well that it took the force.

Ahhh, I've had this discussion over on another forum about the ps3 one(http://www.smashmyps3.com). Honestly, I think you're idiots to get offended by it, they haven't done anything immoral. I gotta say, I haven't seen the wii yet, but I was mightily impressed with the PS3's ressiliance, that thing took a good sledgehammer battering and still didn't shatter into millions of pieces, when they did it with the 360 it crumbled like a cookie. Darn you! There were only 2 wiis in Bluewater, and no signs of Zelda . I still have to try and get those pictures off the camera, I dunno where my brother's left the card reader.

Went back today as I said I would, and took like 3 pictures, but I took them from the top floor as the sign said no pictures and I didn't want them to get arsey about it. I'll upload and post them later, but as for the wii I played alot more today, mainly wii sports, more tennis, some bowling, baseball, golf and a tiny bit of wii play too. We had to do alot of queueing for the different gos on wii sports, but it was reasonable, couldn't be wiihogs! I definitely feel better about the wii after reading reviews that seemed worried about the controls, although I'm still feeling iffy about the pointer though. Ice9, I see there appears to be 4 wiis on display there, did they only have wiisports and wiiplay across the 4, or other games too? I can't make out whats in the bottom right of that picture, but I hope it isn't zelda...

Now theres something I hadn't considered at all, is this going to interfere with the online gaming support and push that back even further??

Dissappointed they only announced this now, although the thing about VC titles every monday is nice, but does it mean america will be getting VC titles before us? Will we have different release schedules, like different games to them etc? Is everyone across the globe going to be getting the weather and news at the same time, or will it be even later for us? It's not a big deal for me, but I am disappointed in them. Why haven't they got it sorted out already?

How cheap is a pint in swansea? Also, are Wetherspoons's prices the same all over the country? I wouldn't know, because I haven't been to a wetherspoons too far away.

Why yes, yes I was! I didn't try to play on it too much because I didn't want to look greedy, but I'm going back with my mate tomorrow like I said and gonna try and get a go at all the different things. I just hope there aren't lots more people there this time.

Jk, pretty nice thread, I don't see a problem with wearing the strap though, I barely noticed it, and I KNOW that at some point I'm gonna get carried away and fling my control out of my hand, I'd rather it fell limp or possibly broke my wrist than fly out of my hand and break itself. My wrist'll fix itself for free, a controller's gonna cost me £30!

Whoever's knocking underage drinking, assuming somebody is because I didn't read everything properly, don't knock it. I had some of the best times drinking underage, it was much more interesting than just sitting down in a pub and drinking with your mates. Whoever buys coke and has a problem with the price, try getting a pint of coke instead, in wetherspoons it's only like 10 or 20p more, and about twice as much! I say that, but I haven't had to ask for a coke in a wetherspoons for about a year.
