I think most have it these days, although quality may be an issue(or maybe not as you said casual pics/vids). What's the one you've got now and what's your budget for a new one? I tend to like Canons, though I've no particular reason for that.

Haven't played this for almost a week! Had to move the wii out of my room on account of Having Shit To Do™ and worried terribly for sleep and it works pretty well but I might get back into it. That's how good this is btw Retro, and how I know you'll 'find time' for it. It's a bit russian reversal tho, you don't find time for xenoblade, Xenoblade finds time for you! On the plus side I might getting a flu so I can trip out and sit in bed all day playing this shit instead of going to work and getting paid ohh yeaahhhh.

Take a look at what's genuinely 'collectable' now, timeframe it, shazam! There's your answer. What is there really of the 80s and 90s that is actually all that 'collectable' right now, and not actually just some person's tat that they sold for a few quid at a car boot sale?

I was gonna say, they're not even comparable to each other, surely? Totally different things that it seems redundant even trying! Not only that, but even trying will possibly ruin the latter game, if not both, so just...don't. Well...it's a game that can wait, I guess. However if you got it, and gave it just 2-3 hours of your time...you'd find the rest of the time to play it just like peterl0 said. It can still wait, of course, and maybe you'll find it cheaper(assuming they keep printing it, that is ) but please make sure you do eventually play it, because it's something I think every gamer should have experienced. I put it in past tense, because I get the feeling it's a game that doesn't leave you. It's one of the ones you'll most certainly remember.

Oh, yeah, I'm aware of that. It's just compared to most people I know, an annual payrise(no matter how small it was) was actually more than they sometimes got! You know I haven't even noticed if it really was frozen, just cut, or what, people just say it's been frozen. (It's not just not just cos I'm an idiot of that that i haven't noticed, i've flitted between like 3 different pay bands this year and i never payed much attention to my base wage anyway to a.) underestimate my earnings in order to accidentally save and b.) because there's all sorts of weird additions on top that it's a bit irrelevant. I'm a bit rusty having not played in a while, so here's hoping you don't obliterate me on the first turn :P Me and @Yvonne @The_Arbitor @Marcamillian were talking about the game recently and thought how amazing it'd be if you could end up with more than 2 players, although it'd take a bit longer, imagine a 4 man dark map! It certainly feels different to any other rpgs I've played. Given your love of them it'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on it once you get going!

I'm gonna ride it out for now as totally naive, it's a long time since I've been like that with a game, so it'll be interesting when ti comes to playing and see how I feel about it.

See, it's good that you mention that, cos I do always wonder if it's an age thing or not. It was much easier to be excited for games as a kid, probably cos they were so few and far between. I might take the day off the day after this arrives and wake up at stupid oclock in the morning and play it before the sun rises(which is how I had to as a kid). I'll go with your suggestions and skip out watching anything for now. See how brilliant it is when it arrives. Seriously hope this game manages to do everything right that TP didn't.

Not having a lot of experience with JRPGS and especially not this generation, I would still say it's an absolutely bang up game and I reckon you'll love it. It's one of those games that grows constantly imo, you like it at first, but it keeps throwing stuff that makes you like it even more so the more you play it the more you love it!

N-E are being quite good with their news and spoiler warnings, I'm tempted by the latest article about the opening footage! I'm trying to weigh up how good it'd really be waiting for the game and seeing things totally fresh as opposed to allowing myself a few little teases. I still remember the awe I felt at the opening of OoT through navi's eyes, but back then it wasn't the sort of thing you could chance across seeing easily at all.

Good point on the loss leaders and making money up later on. Definitely less risk attached these days with it being digital/electronic content they tend to make the money back on. Anyhow, as I did mention I really don't know much about this, does anyone know how it compares to other versions/market competition that makes it so cheap?

What would happen if someone edited a quote into a post after they'd made it? Just something I just did, then wondered if it still notifies. The whole editing and mentions does intrigue me so I just edit'd Peep's post into above as a quote, maybe he'll let us know if he gets notified? Plus it made me chuckle

Can't remember my party levels, but I've just passed through there iirc. What are you struggling with? I had a few sticking points in places, but eventually got through ok. I think this game does eventually give you that sort of...playable progression? Like, you can be struggling and stuff but the dying's so forgiving if you kill at least one thing each time before you die you'll slowly be levelling up? Though that makes the game sound like suck, which it very much is far from! Do you have mob colours(like relative level) turned on? What sorts are you coming up against? Or even just the levels of stuff you're attacking and also what's your party setup? Just thought, you could always tele back to the more recent areas and just grind up a little bit. Maybe go do some questing etc and see if it helps(the xp rewards might level you up plus you'll be questing anyhouw)

I haven't read any of this thread, but short of the world/media/facebook etc saying 'holy shit we're in a recession!' I've probably gotta say that realistically I haven't actually experience that much different due to it. If anything I've got more work than I ever had(which is possibly more notable given I've nothing on contract) and the only way the recession is actually 'affecting' me is that I know about it and everyone talks about it and tells me about it and it actually makes me wonder if we didn't live in a world where this information is so readily everywhere would anybody actually even really notice that they're in the big 'credit crunch'. I get really shit pittance of interest on my money, actually. That's about it. Maybe I didn't get an annual increase on hourly rate either, but that's not really a valid point.

Ah I wasn't sure as I'd never tried, I know you can do it for a lot of wii games but there's some where you can't. Sounds like you're happy with where you are though!
