  1. Thanks, you made me laugh. I haven't actually tried the CC myself, due to similar wallet issues, but then again I never got DKC, due to similar wallet issues. That is quite unbelievable they'd do that though, what does A and X do on it? I think £15 for a controller what has to run through the wiimote and can only be used for VC titles is too much for me. If they're made it so you could wire it through the gc ports or something, then I wouldn't have minded at all.
  2. Adding Wii codes to address book

I got your PM and promptly added you, I haven't check my wii address book for a couple days, but when I looked on friday, you were still greyed out Yep, I just checked again and you are still grayed out. I'm fairly sure the code is right too, did you add me with the right code?
  3. Christmas Films.

Nice, I think I'll watch monsters inc! I've never seen it before, but I hear its good. Alice in wonderland was on this morning too, but I didn't see much of it. I've never actually seen it before. THE SNOWMAN IS ON CHANNEL 4 IN 21 MINUTES.
  4. Christmas Films.

The Santa Claus 2 was on earlier today, I've never seen it, but I taped it as I was at work. MERRY CHRISTMAS N-EUROPEANS!
  5. Gremlins - Channel 4 @ 4:05pm TODAY (Saturday)

CGI Gremlins? Maybe it won't be that bad, if they could make it look non-CGI. That's the thing with CGI, it's used because it's easier and cheaper(I imagine), but it can ruin films slightly because it isn't at the point yet where it is realistic enough to be unnoticed as CGI, if that makes sense. They used it in the spiderman films, and possibly the only thing I have issue with in them, you can see the bits with it and they look a bit unrealistic cos of the way he's moving, it's just not quite natural looking. What time is Gremlins 2 on tomorrow? I'm probably gonna miss it cos I'm at work in the afternoon, but I might be able to slack off and watch TV while I'm there
  6. Gremlins - Channel 4 @ 4:05pm TODAY (Saturday)

Dammit! I fell asleep halfway through the film and only just woke up 5 minutes ago, that is made of pure suck. I don't recall ever having seen the film before neither, I think I seen Gremlins 2 and remembered it as the first.
  7. Cynicism and Optimism

Shouldn't the title be pessimism and optimism? I didn't read much of this thread other than the first post, and I'd say its kind of hard to say what I am. I mean, I'm optimistic in some senses, but very pessimistic in others, so I don't really know.
  8. Gremlins - Channel 4 @ 4:05pm TODAY (Saturday)

I'm watching it, but to be honest, if I'd known about Five Children and It being on, I'd have watched that. For anyone who doesn't/hasn't heard of it, you probably might remember a cbbc drama when you was little about a little sort of ugly looking but very friendly psammead(a sand fairy) who granted children wishes that lasted til the end of the day. They apparently made a film about it a few years ago, which is on bbc1 now but started at like 3. It's pretty good for a novel written in 1902. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Children_And_It Hmm, apparently he was a grumpy little fairy, which sounds more true. Is there a topic anywhere for talking about all those shows you watched when you was a kid?
  9. Xmas Lights interfere with the Wiimote.

I read it in the paper too, was a tiny little article, like seriously tiny, but it did use that rather hilarious quote about rendering the system useless. I think that's actually quite a harsh thing to write though. (Thanks FL for pointing this out to me)
  10. Wiimote Possible problem

Just take it back to the shop for a replacement, that's all the advice that I can offer, it'd be faster than going through Nintendo. I don't see how so many of the first few posters had trouble comprehending the problem, or giving advice to help the situation rather than just criticising. I clip mine of my leg/stuff in pocket quite alot when bowling, but never had much bad consequences as a result(except it fell out of my hand one time). I do however find it quite extrodinary that you managed to chip it through your pocket, what did you have in there that you hit it on? Also, how hard do you swing your wiimote? Sounds like you were either using beyond excessive force, or have very sharp pockets!
  11. Christmas Lights

I saw on page 3 of The Mirror the other day a tiny little thing about christmas lights interfering with the wii, I then proceeded to point my wiimote at various kinds of lights with various coloured bulbs, and did find it to seem sensitive to all of them at a closeish distance. Luckily for me though, we don't have any lights near the wii and we got a fibre optic tree so no lights on that either. I'm curious though, has anyone here had any sort of interference problems with the pointer function on their wii, possibly due to xmas lights?
  12. What has happened to disney?

I know what you mean, Disney just isn't what it used to be. Cartoons in general just aren't what they used to be, nor films. In fact, nothing is like how it used to be! GRR! I FEEL OLD! My favourite would have to be...either The Lion King or Alladin, I'm torn. Toy Story was a classic in its time too, but not as good in Disney terms. One reason for liking Alladin is that it spawned a decent film to game games which didn't suck ass.
  13. Adverts which may or may not blow.

If you want a really good advert, and they've started showing it again recently, it's the John West's Salmon advert, where he fights a bear. Classic. An advert which does blow however, is the shitty new coca cola one, where the hell is Christmas?!
  14. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Glad to hear the book is on it's way. A little dissappointed by the title, sounds a bit...epicly gay. Because otherwise she'll be swarmed with companies wanting to publish further stories! And the prophecy says so! They shall each die at the hand of the other, and neither may live whilst the other does, or something like that. I think the prophecy meant they will both die at the same time, or within close proximity, at the hands of each other. I have done for a long time too, so that boy better die!
  15. Has the Wii worked?

My dad never plays anything beyond solataire, though he likes a bit of wii sports now and then. My mate who's never had anything Nintendo bought a Wii because he was impressed with what he'd seen. Strangest of all though, is that alot of people seem to know about the wii! I mentioned it to someone in the pub last night, and it was like the entire table turned their attention to me like I'd just come out or something, there was lots of requests to come round to my house to play :p
  16. red dwarf

Male Holly all the way, wish he hadn't left! I know he came back later, but by then it was a bit too late. It was actually a long time after I'd first seen Red Dwarf that I found out The Cat was Danny John Jules, of Maid Marion fame! Classic character though, probably my favourite in the whole thing.
  17. Rate the last film you saw

Susan Slept Here (1954) The police pick up some 17 year old girl but cos it's christmas eve they don't think she should spend the night in a cell so they leave her with this guy who's a hollywood film writer, intending to pick her up the day after and pretend thats when they arrested her, and he ends up marrying her to keep her out of jail, despite already having a fiancee. It sounds a bit pants, but it was quite good, a nice jolly sort of film with a nice amount of funny. It was just on BBC2, which I happened to have the TV on and so I watched it. I'm not normally a fan of old films like this, but it was pretty good and a nice change. I'd give it 7/10.
  18. Joe Barbera has died

Well, all I can say is that this guy brought me alot of my childhood enjoyment, I pretty much lived off HB cartoons, they were pretty much all that was shown! I remember the little swirling star at the end too lol. Glad to hear he had a nice long life though.
  19. Voice-acting in the next Zelda game

I was torn between No and Yes with a silent hero. Why you ask? Well, my biggest problem with TP is that it seems a bit generic now, it looks and reminds me alot of FFX which I played recently, there are less minigames and sidequests in TP, and it doesn't seem to have anything uniquely zelda about it to be honest. Thats the reason I'm not keen on voice acting, soon Zelda'll just be another one of those games.
  20. Clampit buys Wii receipt on eBay

It wasn't ethically wrong though! There are no signs of deceit in it! The description in no way implies that the item in question is a Nintendo Wii. EDIT:I also notice neither person seems to have repped the other for it yet. I'm waiting to see what, if anything, crops up in there.
  21. Hi guys, n00b here.

Hello to you new person, don't be put off by all this apparent League of Gentlemen Elitism, it's the first I've seen of it since I joined. I wasn't even aware it existed until now! I hope you enjoy these forums, they're pretty cool.
  22. has anyone tried the following.

I put it in my computer's drives, running XP, both a DVD-R drive and a regular DVD reading drive. Both didn't seem to recognise it.
  23. Clampit buys Wii receipt on eBay

I'll give you 1 beeelion dollars! To everyone saying how low this is etc, it isn't low, its fair, reciepts have a legitimate use. Whoever buys it thinking it's a Wii is an absolute tard though.
  24. Where do I email to get replacement strap?

I just filled in the form on the uk site, I said I needed 4 when I actually only need 2, I dunno why. I find it weird they ask for the serial number of the Wii, is it a sly way to track/register all the Wiis? You could say it's to prevent people from ordering lots of straps, but surely they can check by checking the address? Although, I suppose there might just be people out there without a Wii who would try it too.
