  1. Wii Motion JPEG

Does this mean there is a way to convert video files so they can be played off an SD card on Wii? I'd be quite interested in that. I also need to find out how to convert .3gp files into video(avi, mpg etc) files. *goes to tech forum*
  2. Do you like your own company?

For the majority of the time, I love myself. EDIT:I am aware how that reads, but it shall still stand! Having said this, it doesn't mean I prefer my own company, just that I don't mind it at all. I love going out with people and stuff, absolutely, but I can totally just chill by myself if I have to, I wouldn't go crazy or anything.
  3. ONM or NOM?

Like 7 years ago(seriously) I used to get NOM, but when I think about it, it was an utter shitfest and I can't believe I wasted my money on so many issues. I doubt it's any better these days, or any newer 'official' magazine. Long live the internets!
  4. What should I buy?

Given that it was Christmas just yesterday, I got alot of money. I feel like I am at liberty to spend around £50 and wish to do so on my Wii. I'm not sure what to buy though, and so I am looking for suggestions. Can anyone recommend something really worth getting for the wii? I have Zelda already, wiiplay, and a few VC titles(no Classic controller, GC pad does me fine). What would you suggest is well worth the money? Preferably something that'll last me a while.
  5. His Dark Materials... the movies

I get that, but why change it at all? I don't understand that at all, and...IT ISN'T A COMPASS! I understand what you mean about the naming structure, but I think we can both agree that the name isn't very related to the story...
  6. His Dark Materials... the movies

I think it will change here, that isn't what bothers me. I'm just bothered at the fact they had to rename it The Golden Compass for the bloody americans. What was the reasoning? If it was something stupid like they wouldn't know about the Northern Lights, well, I didn't even know about the Northern Lights before I read the book! Even after I read about it I didn't believe it and checked it out on the internet(sounds really cool though, I'd wanna go see them at some point). I'm quite glad for this topic, it's inspired me, when I beat Zelda later, I'm gonna start reading Northern Lights again.
  7. The Origin of Mii

It's probably like the things they did with Animal Crossing on GC, and even on Wild World, where animals would move in from friends of a friend's town.
  8. What should I buy?

I might consider something for my gameless PS2, or an old gc game. Time to bop over to the GC forum! Thanks everyone.
  9. Solitanzes 1000th Post Spectacular!

alolol, thats exactly what I thought when I saw the topic.
  10. She gave her number but dumped me.

I'd say just wait til jan the 8th when you see her in person, and see how she reacts towards you, that's if you're still really bothered about it. Really, I'd say to just give it up and move on. Sounds like a lot of hassle over nothing to me. I think it's cos we're mainly British, there are alot more extremes on american forums I find.
  11. What should I buy?

Didn't they stop taking PC games a very long time ago? They were excluded from the 10 day returns back in 2004 time. I don't see why they got rid of the 10 day returns, it actually made me buy more games from them than I would now. Now I'll end up renting, then buying off play.com, rather than buying something under the 10 day thing, knowing I can take it back, but getting keen on it and just keeping it.
  12. The Origin of Mii

Does anyone know the limits of the plaza and the parade? I really wish I could stop the parade to pick out the ones I want, I get like 10 new ones every day.
  13. What should I buy?

I noticed that with GAME on launch. Thanks for the advice guys, sounds like it's worth waiting til theres a few more releases out for the Wii. Does anyone know if the Wii version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance is out yet? I'm considering renting it and getting my mate round, see what it's like if it's worth buying. Wish GAME still did 10 day returns though
  14. Cynicism and Optimism

I typed out a reply to this topic the other night after I'd had a few, then wasn't sure whether to post it or not, because I didn't want to seem like one of those pompous people. I've changed my mind, and do want to seem like a pompous person! Prepare yourselves for a longish post, this is part of my philosophy on life, it'll sound a bit pompous, don't hate me for it. I was once of the opinion that we are in general a selfish race, we are innately selfish and self interested due to evolution and biology and self interest of survival. Personally, I have yet to find a situation in which something has been done with a truly selfless intent, and I doubt such a thing exists. We will not do anything we truly do not want to, no matter how we may try to make it appear so. However, having said that, I believe individuals can be exceptions to the general whole of selfishness, to an extent. Life is in itself quite ironic and full of contradictions, thus are humans, and also this post, so forgive me. I find that it's the saddest people who tend to spend most of their time bringing short-term happiness/entertainment to others. The 'Jokers' as it were, the clown, everybody's fool - The one who entertains, and everybody loves for it, but nobody really stops to think about the person underneath it all. You'll find alot of comedians out there have been very successful, and then fallen by the wayside, been cosumed by their own personal demons. You may also find that alot of comedians make good actors, it's because they spend most of their time acting the jolly joker, when whilst they jest on the outside, they're wilting on the inside. Having said this though, there's alot of relativity in life, it's all relative. You can't be happy until you've been sad, and vice versa. It brings me onto the point of life as it is, and death. Death, the way I see it, is the end of life, and what not enough people live for. Do you live for death? I do, I hope. Too many people are scared of death, scared to die, but theres no point, death is, like Smith said, an inevitability. I don't think you can live until you've come to terms with death, and the fact you're going to die, the fact that you'll die tomorrow! Of course, you probably won't, but it's bloody well possible. You could get mowed right down by a bus, and until you realise, truly realise, that you could die tomorrow, you won't live fully. I'm not scared to die, at least I don't think I am, Death to me is a shadow, it follows you everywhere, it's dark, but it's harmless, it's just a part of the way things are. Eventually, Death will get you, and when it does, it is your time, and you have no say in it. It's all about control. So here it is, my main point, Control. Life is about control, learning when you have it, when you don't, and to what extent. People fret and worry about all sorts of things, but the sort of things they normally get worked up about is something they have little control over. Why get worked up about it? It makes no sense, you have no control, and you can't change it! It's like worrying about the past. Forget the goddamn past! Shape the future by learning from the past, but don't wish to change the past, it's a futile wish. We don't take the risks, such as asking out that pretty girl, because we're worried about that short term problem that might arise. What about the long time problem of the lasting regret for the rest of your life? What if you get knocked down by that bus next week? I don't believe in the afterlife, I'm not sure what I believe, but what if time does slow down, what if your life does flash before your eyes? What if there is an afterlife? What if you see that you missed that chance at happiness and realise you didn't need to? Admittedly, given the logic of no afterlife, it doesn't matter either way, as you end up dead and non-existant at the end of it. Life shouldn't be about the end or the beginning, it should be about the journey. Forget the future, forget the past, think about the here and now and nothing else, live in the moment and you will have a good and enjoyable life, possibly. I'm only 19, I don't really know what I'm talking about. Then again, what about the 12 year old who thinks they're in love? Most people would say they aren't, I say if that 12 year old thinks they are, then they are. It shouldn't matter beyond that person in themself. Back to the point, optimists are people who are either too naiive to realise how cruel the world really is, or people who know and have come to terms and are therefore prepared for the ups and downs(prepared for the fact that when things are bad, they will get better, and that most of the time something good won't last forever, and thus they cherish it while they can). The pessimists are just the bitter, angsty people who have been stung by life, but can't get over it due to the fact they dwell too much on the past, and have little faith in the future. They're people who can't get over themselves, and haven't quite realised how much they can, or cannot, control and influence their own futures. This is my opinion. Thank you for reading.
  15. She gave her number but dumped me.

I know how you're feeling man, something very sort of similar happened to me when I was younger. You took a mighty big step though, seriously, some people wouldn't have bothered even asking her at that age(well, im not sure what age you are at all actually). Rejection is something everyone will have at some point in their life, best to learn to deal with it early on. Move on, find someone else, you get rejected again? Meh, dust yourself off and try again. Seriously, don't give up all hope, and don't make the mistake of dwelling on it forever. At least you know now, rather than spending your life wondering, having the regret. I'm here assuming it's worst case scenario though, it might just be that she was busy, like mariosmentor said.
  16. Am I the only person who watches and likes this? I don't know many, if any, people who do! This isn't just a thread about tittybangbang, it's about comedy sketch shows in general, past and present. What's your favourites, classics? What do they need more of, and what do they need less of etc etc?
  17. Tittybangbang (and the like)

Tim Vine does standup with one liners, which is surprisingly good. Youtube him, he also holds the record for most jokes told in a minute or something.
  18. His Dark Materials... the movies

OH GOD I HATE YOU SO MUCH YOU DAMN STUPID AMERICANS Something that has really really grated at me, ever since someone told me about it near 2 years ago now, is the fact the film is going to be called the golden compass. IT ISN'T A GODDAMN COMPASS! I blame it on the Americans, although I'm not sure if it's their fault. I'm just taking my cue from the Sorcerer's Stone. As for the film, I've only just checked out the castlist, a few top names I must say, but it all comes down to whether they can capture the role well. I've never been much of a fan of Kidman, and haven't seen anything much with Craig in it. Never heard of Eva Green, though she was apparently in Casino Royale with Craig.
  19. Playing Wii on a Cinema Screen

I thought bluetooth goes upto 30ft, or 10, or some other 2 digit number ending in 0. EDIT: Anywhere from 1 to 100 metres according to wikipedia, depends on the class/frequency of the signal. So I'm sticking with my original 30ft.
  20. His Dark Materials... the movies

I think it might be my favourite, but...I dunno! Northern lights is definitely 3rd ranking, all the stuff brought in by the subtle knife is just too great, it's the sort of thing I loved about them, Northern Lights didn't have it so much.
  21. James Brown has died

This spurred me on to illegally download loads of his music. In searching for James Brown, a track came up titled 'James Brown is Dead'.
  22. Tittybangbang (and the like)

It's just another sketch show, but I happen to quite like it! It's got a mainly female cast, with the guy who played Dave in Ali G Indahouse doing bits of support for some sketches. I like sketch shows quite alot, they're short and quick laughs. The Sketch Show? Who was on it? I think I remember something by that name used to be on ITV, and Ronni Ancona was on it before she got famous with impressions. It also had Tim Vine, Lee Mack, some bald guy, and some other woman. Little Britain and Catherine Tate are good too, but I think but at times I get bored of them somtimes. I dunno if I feel elitist and don't want to like what everyone likes or what. I tend to like most of the sketch shows on BBC3, Tittybangbang, Little Miss Jocelyn, and there was one called Man Stroke Woman earlier this year. It had Ed from Shaun of the Dead/Mike from Spaced, some guy other guy, and a couple of women. I used to really love Goodness Gracious Me, before it abruptly ended without explanation. Smack the Pony was cool too, and a later C4 one called Spoons. Whenever I mention Spoons though(had Josie D'Arby in it, thought that was a bit unexpected!), nobody seems to know what I'm talking about! As you can see from this post, when it comes to Comedy, I'm not all that fussy, as long as it makes me laugh. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tittybangbang http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_Stroke_Woman
  23. Sarcastic or serious? Maybe she's just trying to get some money to pay for the presents she's had to buy for you. To all of you out there, I hope you had a good christmas.
  24. Playing Wii on a Cinema Screen

I don't see why they bothered with the sensor bar much for wii sports, apart from selecting the different sports, the pointer isn't used much. I'd like to see how well it does work on such a big screen with pointer functions though.
  25. I didn't read beyond the first few posts of this topic, I got put off by all the dicks who decided they needed to go telling us what can and cannot be used, rather than suggesting uses for the wiimote or saying what they think it should be, which I feel was the original intent of the topic. Having said that, I do agree that what works currently(SSBM) is good, and doesn't need changing. I do like your ideas though, I think a flick of either the nunchuck or the wiimote should be used for jumping. Everything else sounds real good to me too, except whilst B is used for specials, the D-Pad(like the analog stick currently) is used to variate the specials.
