  1. Nintendo Badge Arcade (eShop)

Saves you some money that you can spend on Pokéland.
  2. Nintendo Badge Arcade (eShop)

Last set of new badges will be released this week. After that, they will cycle through all the badges, including the rare ones. https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAADAAADV44BDh4AoQ
  3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2017

    I'm in for tonight!
  4. Skyrim (2017)

I liked Oblivion and "Elder Scrolls with guns" Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but never got to playing Skyrim. However, I think this is a game I really prefer to play on the PC. I can't see me playing this game with a controller, it is cheaper and it looks better with the HD pack.
  5. Indie Games

Same here. You can make a budget game without doing pixel art/16 bit. But I guess it is the indie trend now to make it all look retro. The golf game looks fun, but really the pixel art is making it a no-go for me.
  6. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2017

Good racing! I guess you just add up points for the last 3+1 races? But man that was some intense racing! Best moment was in 2nd time RR I wanted to make a shortcut jump with a mushroom but it got stolen by a ghost. On that very moment!
  7. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2017

    Added @Dcubed, ready to roll!
  8. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2017

I will try to join tonight but can't make any promises since I've been in business trip all week and am tired AF. What is the deadline to let you know if I can join? And is it okay to let a non-forum member join (my girlfriend likes MK8 too haha).
  9. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2017

I just installed an access point for better wi-fi, so I should be able to join some Fridays from now on! I mean, somebody needs to take that last position right?
  10. Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition

I've never played Minecraft before (only "2D Minecraft" Terraria). But since the whole world plays it maybe I should give it a shot! Can someone explain me in short the game's mechanics? Is it completely open world or do you have some sort of goals (like Terraria)?
  11. Switch flaws... Problem or not?

So, I've had my Switch for a couple of weeks now so time to sum up the results: Luckily no problems with controller desyncing, dead pixels or ruined screens yet! Poor wifi is an issue; I cannot play online or watch movies from the News section because it is not getting enough signal. My wifi signal is not the best but the Switch is worse than my smartphone for example. But even my phone often has trouble with streaming videos. So I ordered an access point; should fix it (also for my other devices)! Dock scratching I don't see yet (only some stains where he rests in the dock). I did put on one of those god-awful screen protectors just in case (I hate applying these; mine has 2 small air bubbles which I can't get out. Luckily you don't notice them when the screen is on. What I am missing most is software though. A good firmware update would be lovely, adding: - Themes - Background audio in the home menu - Achievements - Some general apps such as browser/Youtube/Netflix - Never gonna happen but: Miiverse! And maybe wifi can also be improved a little bit with a good firmware update.
  12. Did they call it Nintendo Spotlight the other years as well? Thought they just called it a Direct?
  13. I would prefer this. Since you randomly assign games to part 1/2/3, my 2 favourite games of the month could wind up in the same poll, while a meh game can get points due to no competition in another poll. Having one topic and assigning points would fix this.
  14. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

I played the game for a couple of hours this week. Played 2 cups on 100CC (one with driving assist on since I forgot to turn it off, one with it turned off which I like better). Of course I got bombarded with lightning/blue shells/red shells all the time, which is a bit frustrating but is also very Mario Kart! Played some battle games as well, and especially Renegade Roundup looks like a great mode to play online! But I also need a wifi access point or wired connection since my wifi is shitty to begin with, and the Switch's wifi isn't helping. Tried playing it with a single joy-con+strap since some reviews complain about it being uncomfortable, but plays well for me! I'll bring my Switch tomorrow and try local multiplayer with some colleagues; everyone's been bugging me to bring it since I got it. The hype is real!
  15. Should Inklings replace Miis?

This. I love Miis and would take them over Inklings anytime. Had a lot of fun with those guys in the Streetpass Mii Park on the 3DS. And I like dressing him up in Miitomo (talk about playing with yourself...). As an avatar they are great But now link all that stuff together! I seriously thought they did so and was trying to find a way to get my Miitomo Mii to the Switch. Didn't find it, obviously.
  16. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The game is starting to sell out here in the Netherlands as well. So I'm glad I ordered it, and it will arrive tonight! Shockingly the last MK I played were the Wii and DS versions, so I can't wait to jump back into the series!
  17. My Nintendo ( Club Nintendo Successor )

Aw damn, those 3DS themes were the one thing I loved to get using my silver coins. And now they ask for gold coins? Come on Nintendo, shitty move and my silver points keep expiring!
  18. General Switch Discussion

So, I just accidentally bought a Switch! The thing is still crazily limited on stock here in the Netherlands (everywhere I guess). So one webshop showed it had 2 grey ones on stock (neon isn't even coming in), I quickly put it in my cart to decide what I wanted to do (I thought about waiting some time for a bundle or until all issues are fixed). I still couldn't really see if the order got through (they tend to cancel if too many people are fishing for the same thing). So I put in my creditcard numbers, expecting a page 2 with verification (a lot of Dutch websites require second verification). But no, it congratulated me on my purchase! So how about that for a happy incident? Picked up Zelda and a protection set including screen protector on the way home, and today the Switch itself got delivered. Setting it up right now and I am as happy as a child! Didn't even see one for real up until now so that adds to the magic!
  19. Fire Emblem Heroes (Android/iOS)

This! I also played Sacred Stones back in the days and don't remember him as a easily burned Lannister. But now... On the other hand, I did summon me an epic 5 star Eirika!
  20. Fire Emblem Heroes (Android/iOS)

My code is: 5453505603. Will add you all! Right now I am quite enjoying this. Although the one thing that I don't enjoy is that your characters can die but are revived after a match. Not really the true FE thrill! Btw: how are you spending your orbs? Right now I used one to upgrade my castle (+20xp which sounds like a good deal). And spent 20 on 5 new heroes (got all 5 in one set of stones). But this feels very pricey. It got me an OP Takumi though (unfortunately not Lyn)!
  21. Fire Emblem Heroes (Android/iOS)

I didn't know you could vote daily. Voted for Lyn yesterday! Although the site is only showing half the content, I had to guess what the buttons say since the text in them was not showing haha. Will definitely try this one though. Last FE game I played was Sacred Stones, so maybe this can rekindle my FE spririt.
  22. The Good The Wii has brought plenty o' good! Great games like Monster Hunter Tri and Super Mario Galaxy to name just 2. But still I am looking for some gems which I still want to play like Pandora's Tower and Endless Ocean. The backlog on it is great. Motion controls are obviously good (when implemented right). Some games tried a little too hard to work with it like first launch title Red Steel, but many games used it great. It even led Sony and Xbox to change their strategy to a motion controlled attempt. But for me most the Wii was a people magnet. I bought one while I was still in college living in a student dorm with 5 more people. Three girls, three guys, two hardcore gamers. But everyone would come in and join in the fun from time to time. There were so many types of games to play. The casuals would join in on Wii Sports or Wii Play, while the hardcore gang was playing Super Smash Bros Brawl, and we tried to get high scores in House Of The Dead 2 & 3 Returns with the Wii Zapper. But it brought people together which to me is the best thing about the console. I really hope the Switch can pull it off in the same way. The Bad All good things lead to bad things, which was also the case with the Wii. Motion controls led to shitty games, terrible quality "party" games, shovelware, and much more horribleness. And the bad thing was these things sold. Online was rather terrible, and much more could have been done with the different Channels. But the fact that it was a family console led to goshdarnawful TV commercials with perfect families smiling and waving at their television sets. I always hoped the mother would accidentally hit the husband in his perfectly white teeth with the Wiimote... The Uglii The graphics on some games. Yes, a game like Mario Galaxy looked great. But for example Xenoblade Chronicles was for me almost unplayable in the first year. I didn't have a big TV, and it wasn't until switching to a bigger screen and from SCART to component cable that I could read the menus and subtitles. It looked grainy, which really lowered the experience of an otherwise amazing game.
  23. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

I figured this would be the chosen option at the current suggested SRP. Either they improve the TV output by hardware acceleration like with an additional APU in the dock, but that would be costly. The other option is this. Plugged into the power thus no need to be power conservative since it is not running on battery. So the processor can clock up but needs extra cooling, hence the fan. Being able to buy extra docks at a cheap price is a clever move, but it needs to be like Google Chromecast cheap.
  24. Pokémon Go! (Android/iOS)

New tracking is live in Netherlands as well. And finally got a Ditto this morning disguised as a Rattata. Now let's hope they go live with gen 2 soon and also start working on Android Wear support in addition to the Apple Watch (still no news on that @Josh64).
  25. Pokémon Sun/Moon

I also finally got a chance to play the demo. First impressions are mixed, there are some likes and some dislikes! For example, the way those team Skull guys are walking, seriously? A certain Monty Python sketch springs to mind, something about silly walks... Further I dislike the new Pokéball animation, the symbol showing over the ball after the third click. It is a bit dull that they show the effectiveness of moves, and the colours and camera styles are meh. So by the demo I am not that impressed. I did like the new HUD on the touch screen during battle, and the Y hotkey for for example switch Pokémon or use Pokéball. Hope this carries over to the main game and will be customisable. However, what makes me want to play the main game are the things that are not in the demo! Alolan forms, the island trials (I don't count that one in the demo since it feels a bit too lame), and the Ultra Beasts. So probably will wind up playing Moon.
