  1. Good to hear the ending isn't as bad as people were making it out to be, then! :) Still waiting until my copy arrives, before giving it a full listen. I've still had no confirmation off the official store about my order though, so I may not be getting it early like I'd hoped. :hmm:

Also, according to Matt Bellamy in a recent interview, they're going to play a "one-off set of rarities, b-sides and heavy tracks" at Download. Cannot. Fucking. Wait!!! :yay:

Oh, and I listened to Showbiz (the song), followed by The Handler. It's perfect!

  2. Wanted to do the same as I only got the as of yet unreleased tracks via a source

But I completed it with the official downloads for the released tracks and I can't resist.

Dead Inside playing now and the rest will follow

Oh god, you should see the official .mu forums... they're tearing the last few tracks apart. Apparently, JFK and Defector are good, then it all goes downhill from there. I'm a bit scared now. Although it is the official forums, they're harsh over there...

EDIT: Just seen your hidden text, haha! XD Let me know what the last half is like. :)

  3. One reddit post suggested listening to the songs Showbiz and The Handler back to back.

    Do it...

I said it once, I'll say it again: Drones appears to become a culmination of Muse at their best.

Even with only a couple of new songs released in the past weeks it feels like The Resistance and The 2nd Law were supposed to be build-ups for Drones.

I'll definitely be doing that when I get home, cheers for the tip! I remember Matt Bellamy saying in interviews that The Handler harks back to Showbiz, and I can really see it.

I couldn't agree more either, this is definitely Muse at their best, this album is turning out to be incredible! I have to say, The Handler alone is definitely one of the best tracks they've released in the past 6 years!

  4. Two days ago I've seen Muse for the third time.

    *Setlist*

It was insane. Psycho and New Born right off the bat :awesome:

And Apocalypse Please. Can't believe how awesome that was. A bit disappointed that they switched Bliss (they played it in Munich the day before) with Plug in Baby but hey...I've seen Bliss live already, so that's cool :D

It was an amazing night. 90 minutes of pure awesomeness.

Edit: Oh come on, Spotify...don't tease me like that :(

    GnR0sF9.jpg

By the way: There's a rumor we'll get The Handler today. : peace:

That's a pretty awesome setlist tbh, looked like ana awesome gig! I'd love to see AP live.

Also, it appears Drones will be up for streaming on Spotify on Friday. It says that's the release date on all regions on the site, so I assume it'll start from then. Mind you, the album is out in some countries by then anyway.

If we do get The Handler today, I'm not sure if I want to listen to it yet, I've heard too much of Drones already, I want there to be some surprises on the album. You should see the official forums at the moment, they're going mental!

I went to two dates of the Psycho Tour in March and I've been dying to hear a studio version of Reapers since... and holy shit, they're really going for it with Drones!

Is anyone going to Download next week?

Awesome, I went to the Manchester one, it was incredible! Which dates did you go to? I'm going to be at Download next week, I'm going for the five night camping. Should the a good one. :yay:

  5. I saw that video yesterday, and the song is fucking incredible! I've loved all the tracks released so far, it's definitely the best material that Muse have released for years. I've got to admit, the studio version of that track is actually better than the live version, although everything comes across clearer in the studio version.

It's all coming together. Can it be 8th June now, please?

  6.

    OH MY FUCKING GOD.

It's only a one hour setlist but if they play those tracks next Saturday I will go fucking crazy.

I can see them going for a longer show, though, as the gigs on Friday (in Munich) and Saturday (in Gelsenkirchen - Veltins Arena) are the beginning of their festival tour. : peace:

    Cannot fucking wait. :awesome:

Edit: I have feeling Matt wasn't kidding before Dead Inside :( Especially with Bliss afterwards...

Dem tech issues, dat shit crowd tho. :( The other gigs will definitely be better, they were on form in Manchester, and I'm sure the other festivals won't be so shitty with their tech. Plus they're sure to play longer, as most normal headline slots at a festival are around 90 minutes, so it should be a decent length. But yeah, not long till Drones now. :yay:

By the way, I highly recommend reading their interview with Q Magazine, it's a brilliant article!

  7. There really isn't a place to get cheap PS+ these days, not since the PS4 has come out. Could try CD Keys, they have one for £36 at the moment. Think of all them free games which pays for itself.

I already used my reward card points, and traded in CoD towards it, cheers though anyway. It only cost me about £20ish after that, so not bad. :)

  8. Hate to hijack the thread here folks, but I was just wondering, where's the best place to buy PS Plus for cheap? Preferably a year subscription.

My PS Plus ran out the other day, and I forgot that my account is linked to my old card, so it failed to auto-renew. Kind of a good job, really, as £40 is a lot for me at the moment.

EDIT: Actually, I have £7.63 on my GAME Reward card, and want to trade in CoD: Advanced Warfare, so I might just do that instead...

  9. Reapers is going to be massive, it's easily some of Bellamy's best guitar work.

Just listened to the leak of Mercy too, and I absolutely love it! Sure, it's really poppy, but it has a definite Black Holes & Revelations vibe to it. 8th June needs to hurry up!

  10. The Tiny Tonitrus isn't a weapon, it's an item that uses QS bullets. The Tonitrus is a separate weapon altogether

Ooooh, that explains a lot! Thanks for that. I'll have to have a look and see where it is in my inventory then. :)

Ok, so I've just found it, but I didn't realise it requires an Arcane level of 25. I only have a level of 11. Well, fuck... XD

  11. After you beat Rom, every human left in the town turns or dies. If you're going to send anyone to the clinic or Cathedral Ward, it has to be before killing Rom.

Damn' it, I thought that would be the case. Cheers for the clarification. I'll have to do that on a second playthrough (if I can be bothered...)

  12. Those fucking hunters. I found the best way to do it was to attack them first and then run like fuck back to the lamp. I stood in the doorway and basically tried to funnel them in through there, slashing them as they tried coming in.

I found the canon, can't remember where. I didn't even get to Upper Cathedral Ward in my playthrough, I think. Apparently I've missed two bosses this way. Boooo.

I also didn't come across many NPCs. I found the annoying old lady, but then sent a guy to be with her and he promptly killed her. I don't know how I managed to miss so many people...

Good thinking, I might try that when I get back round to playing it again. Cheers. :)

I remember the cannon is somewhere in the Forbidden Woods, that's all I know though. I may have to scout out that area again. *shudder*

The key was pretty obscure to find though. If you want to find it, it's in the same area as the group of witches and the giant beast that lazers you as you head down the stairs. To the right, just as you reach that area, there's a gap in the fence. Jump down there, kill the bell ringer and Brute, and if you drop down, you'll end up in a cage with the key. Hope that helps, it's difficult to explain tbh. :heh:

No idea how I missed people either. I was told where they were, but I went to check after beating Rom, and they were gone. I guess I progressed the game enough to make them bugger off/die. ::shrug:

  13. I've had this game since launch, and I think it's bloody brilliant! Frustratingly difficult, but then I was expecting that really. Haven't had a ton of time to play it though, so still attempting to blitz through it.

I'm currently stuck on Yahar’gul, Unseen Village, where I've got to try and take on three Hunters at once. I know how to do it, it's just bloody difficult. Managed to get the key to Upper Cathedral Ward too, so I might explore that area a bit first, before pressing on. I'm currently level 61 (or is it 62?) at the moment.

I also have a feeling I've missed tons of stuff. For one thing, I've only rescued the annoying old lady from the starting area, and haven't found anyone else, except for the little girl. Although I gave her the broach back, and I've heard she dies if you do this. My flat-mate found the cannon in The Forbidden Woods too, and I didn't. :/

Oh, and I came across an annoying bug too...

So, I found the Tiny Tonitrus in the current area, and when I went to upgrade it in the workshop at the Hunter's Dream, it had vanished out my inventory. I went back to the chest where I found it, and it wasn't there either. It's just completely gone. It's bloody annoying.

  14. So yeah, saying I'm gutted about this is an understatement.

All I can say is, fuck Konami, I'm done with them. I may not even bother with MGS5 out of protest. Although if I do, I'll probably "obtain" it from somewhere...

  15. In fairness, it does look pretty cool. My initial reaction isn't that of enthusiasm because...I feel like the wave for this sort of thing has passed. It was awesome at the time, particularly when GH3 was out and Rock Band came onto the scene and you had people who would argue about which was the better game. GH3 was one of my most played Wii games and I loved it.

I dunno, maybe it'll surprise us and maybe there is a new audience of younger gamers out there who didn't play GH2/3, RB, etc and who would jump on something like this. The two options they've given us for the game (particularly the one with the music videos) are really interesting and it'll all be about drip-feeding extra content into the game and how they plan to do that.

Fair point, the entire music genre of games did die off after the last GH/RB games. Although I do think there's a new generation of audience that this will appeal to. I do admit, it may be a bit early to get hyped, as we don't know exactly how they'll release the content, but things are definitely looking interesting!

  16. Updated the original post with the trailer, plus there's a link to the Game Informer coverage that's happening over the course of the month.

    Also, some more details:

Details about the next game in the Deus Ex series' story, missions, augmentations, and more have been revealed via Game Informer's exclusive cover story. Set in 2029, two years after the events of Human Revolution, Adam Jensen is now working with a group called Task Force 29. Sponsored by the government, they've been set up to combat "a new breed of terrorism." In the trailer and screenshots we've seen enemies with augmentations, which this is almost certainly referring to.

While there were references to the original Deus Ex in HR, the events of Mankind Divided may be more closely linked to JC Denton's story. It's been suggested that we'll see events described in Ion Storm's game's first-hand, and the accounts we've heard may not be entirely true. Jensen, it seems, is also secretly working for a group called the Juggernaut Collective. Allegiances are frequently fragile in the corrupt future of the Deus Ex series, so this isn't entirely surprising.

Exotic locations are also a staple of the series, and Mankind Divided will take us to a location based on the real-life Kowloon Walled City. Expect these city hubs to be crammed with side missions, which Eidos say will be more meaningful than in HR. A new augmentation called C.A.S.I.E. allows Jensen to analyse the mental state of people he's talking to, which should let him talk his way out of tricky situations.

    Source: http://www.pcgamer.com/deus-ex-mankind-divided-details-emerge/

Really sounds like exciting stuff! :yay: I'm glad the story will tie into the original, I look forward to seeing how they transpire.

  17. Not sure if serious :p

    I am hyped, though.

That one behind the box is though right. Possibly the last one. Not sure about the first one.

First and last are renders, second and fourth are paintings. Tempted to agree with you that the third is the "most real", but going by the shadow around Adam I'm pretty sure he's just been superimposed in there. I don't care really but lets not try and sugarcoat it. I'm sure the final thing will be wonderfully pretty anyway, especially if they ease off the orange that plagued the last one ;)

Yeah, to be honest, I realised they weren't all screenshots, but I was in a hurry to post this thread. :p

I need to play Human Revolution at some point. Great news though. I never played the original game, are they heavily story orientated and linked in together?

Human Revolution is a prequel to the original and is set way before it with different characters. There are probably a couple of nods to the original, but I've only played Human Revolution and it stands completely alone. It's incredible, you have to play it.

Yup, Human Revolution is pretty much it's own story, set in the same universe, way before the events of the original game. There's enough homages and references though. Also, definitely play the original. It hasn't aged well visually, but it's still the best game ever made!

Also, the trailer is out!! Hnnnnnnnggggg, soooo goooood!!!!

  18. So Square Enix have been doing an interactive teaser on Twitch (http://www.twitch.tv/cantkillprogress), teasing some new game that's meant to be revealed imminently. However, info has leaked, and it's a sequel to Human Revolution!

    Here's the official reveal trailer:

And Game Informer have a month's-worth of coverage: http://www.gameinformer.com/p/deusex.aspx

Words cannot express how excited I am for this! The original is my favourite game of all-time, and Human Revolution was a worthy prequel. Bring. it. ONNN!!! :yay:

  19. It was indeed.

Most of the crowd sucked :blank: But I jumped and sang like crazy  Second row : peace:

Dat Bliss performance. And dat Bliss falsetto.

It's kind of a sexy song (and no, I don't say that because of the video :p).

And the lyrics are miles better than Psycho's (even though that song had a legit message, but still...lyrics could've been a bit more imaginative). Dead Inside, though...such a sad song.

    I love it.

High hopes for the album. It won't reach the perfection that is Origin of Symmetry but it has potential to be something amazing :)

Thanks for sharing the video! :) Bliss was pretty amazing at the gig too tbh, plus the entire room was going mental! Mind you, it was a room full of hardcore Muse fans, so that's to be expected really.

Dead Inside keeps getting better with every listen, plus it actually transitions well, in terms of the narrative. If you listen to them back-to-back, it works really well. Matt Bellamy also said the lyrics are still somewhat personal, but slightly altered from it's original form to suit the concept of the album. In which case, the poor guy needs a hug. So sad. :(

Also, the band did radio interviews after airing the single, some little bits of info to take away:

    • Dead Inside is about losing love, takes the album into a dark place
    • After Psycho the album keeps getting progressively darker
    • Mercy and The Handler in particular are really dark
    • Defector and Revolt are when the protagonist starts to fight back, regains self control
    • Aftermath is the end of the brainwashing story, about finding love again
    • The Globalist is the Citizen Erased sequel, a "10 minute prog nightmare," about the rise and fall of a dictator, end of world, WW3
    • Dead Inside and Psycho are the two extremes of the album, melodic and heavy
    • The album leans more towards heavy side
    • This is their return to being a three-piece band

Chris also claims the Psycho tour has the band talking about doing more intimate gigs, says there is "something missing" in playing big arenas etc.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm so hyped after hearing all that!!! :yay:

  20. Hope they'll have a similar setlist when I see them at a festival in May. But I don't think there's any reason to worry, they always fear that they aren't putting up a "rock"-enough-show for festivals so heavy songs will be played (similar to the gig they played at Rock am Ring in 2010; that was one hell of a gig and I'm so happy I was there) : peace:

Looking forward to Dead Inside. :)

Oh man, May 30th can't come soon enough.

Awesome, Rock am Ring 2010 looked like it was a great show, glad you enjoyed it! :)

Also, Dead Inside is out (can't post the video because boobs. :P) It's really not what I expected, but it's still brilliant!

  21. Dat solo :awesome:

The song does sound amazing :)

After seeing it live, I can confirm that it's amazing! I want this album now.

Also, the new single, Dead Inside, should be airing today: http://www.gigwise.com/news/99113/muse-dead-inside-new-track-to-premiere

But more importantly, the gig I was at last night...

    1. Psycho

    2. The Groove

    3. Bliss (extended)

    4. Dead Star

    5. Time Is Running Out

    6. Interlude + Hysteria

    7. Stockholm Syndrome + Micro Cuts outro

    8. Hyper Music

    9. Starlight

    10. Burning Bridges riff + Voodoo Child (Slight Return) riff + Supermassive Black Hole

    11. Uprising (extended)

    12. Reapers

    --------------------------

    13. Fury

    14. Plug In Baby

    15. Man with a Harmonica + Knights of Cydonia

All I can say is, I'm one happy Muse fan right now.
