  1. The Walking Dead

  2. Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric

There's a behind the scenes video on the game and TV show here: http://www.joystiq.com/2014/02/26/he-may-have-a-new-look-but-sonic-is-still-the-goddamn-batman/ It actually sounds great, and that concept art is phenomenal! The show should be a bit of a laugh too.
  3. Thief

Oh... well, that's disappointing.... I really hope the poor quality of this doesn't carry through to Deus Ex: Universe (although, I'm sure the team working on it is completely different, so I'm still hopeful.) Either way, my flat mate's pre-ordered it, so I'll get to judge it for myself.
  4. So it appears that the studio behind Bioshock is closing down: http://kotaku.com/bioshock-studio-irrational-games-is-winding-down-all-1525186316 I don't think anyone could have seen this coming, especially after how successful Infinite was. At least Levine is opening another studio, but it's still a sad day indeed...
  5. Wolfenstein: The New Order

A friend of mine played this at Gamescom, and he says what he played was really good. He described it as a really weird mix of traditional Wolfenstein, with a lot of characterisation and plot. I'm sold on that premise alone, and it does look like a good laugh. Plus Doom beta access has me intrigued...
  6. MGS V: Ground Zeroes

If the hardware is meant to be quite similar, then I would imagine it's down to a software issue. Reports before the XBox One was even released stated that the OS was an absolute clusterfuck. The fact that Microsoft allegedly made adjustments at the last minute threw a spanner into the works too. I guess the point is, you could create the most monstrous, powerful machine on the planet, but if you install a poorly coded, poorly optimized operating system on it, then you're still going to get issues.
  7. PlayStation 4 Console Discussion

    .....Half-Life 3 confirmed.
  8. Wolfenstein: The New Order

Release date has been announced: 20th May 2014 Also here's a new trailer: Oh, and new DOOM Beta access when you pre-order! http://kotaku.com/pre-order-wolfenstein-get-into-the-doom-4-beta-1525878412 Some (bland) box art too:
  9. The Order: 1886

To be honest, when it comes to 21:9, it doesn't bother me too much. I really end up not noticing it if I'm immersed enough in a game (which was the case with Beyond.) Still, each to their own. As for the gameplay, it does look generic, and I'm a bit on the fence about it for now. However, I don't think we've seen anywhere near enough to make a definitive opinion on it yet, so I'm still open minded on the subject. I can't deny that it looks phenomenal though, it's got to be one of the most visually spectacular games I've ever seen. I also love the steampunk-esque aesthetic too. Now for people going on about "next-gen gameplay", I have no idea what could even classify as that, unless we're talking about the usage of new hardware. In which case, I don't see how we'd see that demonstrated in trailers. Let's face it, everything has been done before, and nothing is original any more in terms of gameplay mechanics. The originality comes from the presentation, which very few games manage to pull off, because it's quite a challenge. Even if the gameplay in The Order does end up being similar to other games, at least it'll feel somewhat unique in terms of art direction and style.
  10. TitanFall (Xbox One/360/PC)

Played the beta quite a bit this evening. I have to say, I'm extremely impressed, it surpassed my expectations. It was difficult to get into at first, it's so chaotic! However, once I was over that hurdle, I enjoyed the experience. The gameplay and mechanics are well balanced and pretty solid, it's certainly an improvement over Call of Duty. That said, I have to agree with what some are saying; how long will it last? I can see this getting extremely repetitive, and without a single player campaign, this could get dull fast. I'm not sure this is worth the asking price, and I don't think it's enough to be a system seller for XBox One, but it's damn fun, for now. Another thing I'd like to point out; is it just me, or does the control scheme seem a bit fiddly with a keyboard/mouse set up on PC? I'll try it with a pad later...
  11. EDIT: Never mind, it's powered up again now, weird. Time to frantically copy stuff over before it dies again. ORIGINAL POST: I have (or had) a 2TB Segate external hard drive: http://www.ebuyer.com/384253-seagate-2tb-expansion-desktop-drive-stbv2000200 Anyway, it's only been just over a year since I've had it, and it appears to have died. No light comes on and it doesn't appear under "my computer". I've attempted to unplug it and plug it back in, rebooting my system to no avail, it's a lost cause. Is there any way of rescuing the data off it? Or have I lost years worth of stuff? (Some of which I'll probably never get back.)
  12. Thanks for the tip! I'll remember that one next time a hard drive dies. Also, don't worry, I won't throw it... xD
  13. TitanFall (Xbox One/360/PC)

Ok, so I actually managed to get into the PC Beta! I just checked my Origin account, and there it was, ready for me to download. Although, does anyone know when the beta is meant to end? I know it was originally supposed to finish on 18th Feb, but I've heard that it's been extended. I only ask because my net connection isn't brilliant, and it'll take me a good 12 hours to download the bloody thing... EDIT: Then again, things might be looking up. It's gone down to about 2 hours 30 mins now. Woooo!!!
  14. MGS V: Ground Zeroes

Wait, is that the final box art? But... but, what about Yoji Shinkawa's artwork, is he not involved with MGS anymore? I'll definitely be getting this game, whenever I get my PS4. Turns out I may be starting work later than I thought, so I have to wait a bit longer for it. Once I've got one, I may wait until the game drops in price, but I'm not sure I'd be able to wait that long. Interesting facts about the differences between each version too, it's got people questioning the power of the XBox One again...
  15. The Walking Dead

  16. Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric

Don't worry folks, it's been confirmed that this is not replacing the original franchise! http://www.sonicstadium.org/2014/02/sonic-boom-will-not-be-replacing-the-old-universe/ As for my opinion on this. I saw the designs and instantly dreaded how this was going. However, after watching the trailer for the game (which looks to have decent gameplay), and the trailer for the TV show (which also looks quite good), I'm kind of intrigued. I admit the designs are weird, and Knuckles is a bit much of a beefcake now, but they could have been worse. They're just a bit odd, considering they've redesigned iconic characters. Also, the studio behind this are ex-Naughty Dog staff, so I have some hopes for the game...
  17. Left 4 Dead 2 in Source 2 Engine Leaks

It pretty much is Left 4 Dead 3, but the common joke is "HL3 confirmed" when it comes to anything Valve related. It's getting a bit old now. Although the documents are said to be almost 3 years old, so who knows what Valve have in store?
  18. Left 4 Dead 2 in Source 2 Engine Leaks

In before "Half-Life 3 confirmed...." Seriously though, if the sources (no pun intended) are as reliable as these leakers claim, then this is very exciting news indeed. Plus the word is that the presentation actually dates back to 2011, so the engine could have easily been improved dramatically by now! It'd explain what they've been doing this whole time, besides the Steam Machine/SteamOS/controller thing. It'd also explain why they haven't bothered to sort out the current Source SDK, although that's still no excuse, really.
  19. Well, 2013 is coming to an end, which only means one thing... time to discuss what games we liked the most this year! There's a massive pile of stellar releases this year, so there's sure to be various opinions round here. I'm doing a top 10 list for my YouTube channel, uploading a video each day for each game, discussing in detail why I like each title. As it's related, here's my pick for number 10:
