I've been playing for a fair few years. As others have said, start cheap so that you haven't wasted a load of money if you decide it's not for you. In general I'm not a very good player, but I can play what I want to (mostly) so I enjoy it.

I didn't see the BBC production of Pride & Prejudice until many years later. I missed out and so are all of you that haven't seen it.

Even if this was cheap I wouldn't be that bothered about it. I'm not one for flying so can't imagine that I'd enjoy the experience.
