  1. Luigi's Mansion 3 (2019)

I’ve played about three hours and this game is tremendous fun. Memories of playing Dark Moon on the 3DS have come flooding back and I love it. Though I don’t remember that much. It’s easily fun enough playing just as Luigi but the game really steps up a gear when Gooigi makes an appearance. The co-op puzzles are so inventive and brilliant, and I’m still only on the first few floors. What surprised me slightly is that the demo I played at EGX, where I struggled to get to grips with everything, actually wasn’t the start of the game. I’m glad because the actual starting tutorial eases you in very gradually. After 1-2 hours I felt like I had sufficiently mastered all of the controls. There are actually some genuine jump scares, though they are very cartoony and it’s possible to see most of them coming. They’re hilarious! It would be great fun to play this with some younger children to see their reactions The main game seems straightforward enough but it seems finding some of the collectibles will provide a real challenge. I thought I was going mad when I couldn’t obtain some of the early gemstones despite seeing where they were...turns out I needed more equipment. Combat is really fun and I’m just about starting to see more variation in the ghosts. Haven’t tried the multiplayer yet but will give it a go in the next couple of days. Definitely turn Professor E. Gadd’s tips off in the settings and turn up the motion controls to 3. Nintendo are really spoiling us this year with yet another essential purchase. Happy Halloween!!! RIP my social life.
  2. Ring Fit Adventure

Ring Fit Adventure sold 5% more copies in its second week on sale in the UK. Very well deserved! From what I hear there are stock shortages everywhere too. Just think how many of these are going to be sold during December/January
  3. Luigi's Mansion 3 (2019)

Ok, you have convinced me. I also don’t want to miss out on my free gifts or the opportunity to potentially trade it in this time next week for £30+. I may as well accept that Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition is going to take me forever to complete, and it’s by no means a bad thing.
  4. Luigi's Mansion 3 (2019)

I’m almost certainly cancelling my pre-order. While it looks fun, it doesn’t look like an essential day one purchase from the previews I’ve seen. Perhaps I can have a Spooky Christmas Day if Santa wants to get it for me this year. Multiplayer looks unimpressive and kind of lame imo.
  5. Mario & Sonic at the 2020 Olympics (Switch)

    9/9/8/8 from Famitsu.
  6. Luigi's Mansion 3 (2019)

I would love to know how many hours the main campaign is for this game. I have a ridiculous amount of hours left in Dragon Quest still and am seriously considering not purchasing any more games until I’m done with it.
  7. Ring Fit Adventure

Only two sessions on this game so far and my body already has noticeable improvements. My chest in particular looks fitter and stronger. I’m looking forward to seeing what progress is made after a couple more weeks of playing. It reached No.5 in the UK chart, a few hundred copies behind The Switcher which had a three-day head start. Positive word of mouth should keep this game around in the charts for a long time, even if it doesn’t quite become the phenomenon that Wii Fit was.
  8. Ring Fit Adventure

Oh my god. I just completed the first world in Ring Fit Adventure and I'm absolutely exhausted! I love the way it encourages me to do exercises I would never choose to do myself. In only 19 minutes of exercise I was dripping in sweat. This is definitely a big step up from Wii Fit in terms of workout intensity. The Ring-Con is a great piece of kit and I can see this being used for other fitness-based games in the future.
  9. Ring Fit Adventure

I’m looking forward to finally achieving my ‘beach body’ once this game arrives in a couple of days In all seriousness, I was accepted into the London Marathon last week and so this should complement my marathon training quite nicely.
  10. Yooka Laylee And The Impossible Lair

This game only debuted at No. 31 on the official UK chart (56% of sales were on Nintendo Switch), which doesn't strike me as very good. I'll be looking forward to it appearing in the January sales so I pick myself up a bargain.
  11. Nintendo Switch Online: SNES

A Link To The Past is timeless. I’m currently banging on to my friends playing Link’s Awakening that they should play it next.
  12. Ring Fit Adventure

Yep, though it appears that enough people are still buying boxed games to make the charts relevant enough for now, though this is declining at a rapid rate. I'm sure I read via one of the Games Industry Biz folks that digital data is set to be included from next year. I'll be interested to see how that turns out. It already is in the EMEA charts that are released, I think, with the exception of Nintendo who are still refusing to provide the data.
  13. Ring Fit Adventure

Though I only play games on Nintendo consoles, it's all interesting to me. I wouldn't go posting about the sales of games on other consoles because a) I don't play them and b) this is a Nintendo site. You are right, though. It's definitely still a bit of a novelty feeling that Nintendo games and consoles are doing well again. I also like TV ratings, box office totals etc. and I used to love the Top 40 music charts when I was younger, before streaming made them boring and irrelevant.
  14. Ring Fit Adventure

What can I say....I'm just really interested in stats/data/sales figures
  15. Ring Fit Adventure

Does anyone know when the review embargo is up for this please? Could be any day between Monday and Thursday, I guess. It's doing well in pre-orders on Amazon. Already up to number 13 in the best sellers and rising. Maybe there isn't a lot of competition at the moment, but this looks like it will have a solid Top 5 debut in the UK.
  16. Ring Fit Adventure

I would like to see it.
  17. I’m about 13 hours in now and everything is still a bit simple and straightforward. Just reached the city that looks like Venice. Does the difficulty ramp up at some point, can someone tell me? Regardless, it’s still an incredibly enjoyable experience.
  18. Yooka Laylee And The Impossible Lair

It looks so great! Might be one for Santa to bring me though as I just have so much to play.

  20. If this game had been released in February or April when there was almost nothing, it would've gotten the attention and sales it deserves. Plenty of people won't have had much money left after Astral Chain, Link's Awakening, Fire Emblem, Switch Lite etc. and it has fallen somewhat under the radar. Releasing only one week after the biggest Switch game of the year thus far was not the best idea, to say the least.
  21. Looking back at some of the posts from 2017, it seems quite funny now that it didn't debut on Switch for another two years! For those who didn't know, DQXI scored 40/40 from Famitsu magazine and was voted their game of the year in 2018. I completed the demo at just under nine hours and moved onto the full version of the game finally. I've had to stop myself from playing it too much, it's *that* good!
  22. I'm amazed it has taken this long to bring it to the Switch, seeing how much of a phenomenon it was on the DS. Ditto a fitness game.
  23. No.11 in the UK. Sadly missing out on a Top 10 due to some FIFA-related Xbox bundles. Sold around half of what the PS4 version did at launch last year. http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2019-09-29-fifa-20-and-xbox-one-dominate-uk-charts
  24. Ring Fit Adventure

It seems expensive but I don’t think it’s bad when it’s including the equipment. Hopefully more fitness-related games in the future will be using it, and will be sold separately.
  25. Super Mario Maker 2 was my GOTY, then Fire Emblem was, then Astral Chain possibly overtook that, now there's a fair chance I'll be liking this the best out of everything I've played this year thus far.
