  1. Interested in seeing the Link Between Worlds, Tropical Freeze, Freedom Planet, Super Mario Maker and Final Fantasy VI runs but don't think I necessarily have the time to be able to watch them live. Might catch up with them at a later date.

  2. Did you get the Hidden Abilities Johto starters from the PokeBank last year?

Unfortuantely no because I don't have PokeBank. I might consider getting it though considering there's an ever growing number of legendaries on my Y version (just downloaded Shaymin a couple of days ago). I prefer to build my in-game teams using Pokemon that you can catch in that version though without having to resort to trading (although if they need trading to evolve I might consider that)

If Rockruff does evolve into a Ghost type then that might give a third of my team Dark and Ghost weaknesses if Aegislash ends up on the team, but at the same time I like dogs and a Rock type Dog Pokemon that could potentially learn Ground type moves too is something I'd quite like to have. I imagine it will probably be a Physical Attacker, I would be surprised if his stats are defensively orientated even if Rock types are traditionally that.

  3. I don't really know many who used a Dragalge when playing through the game. Stuff like Talonflame and Aegislash were all extremely popular on people's teams last gen although with the large Pokedex in general everyone was spoilt for choice. Plus the fact that you need to fish for Skrelp and it's Y exclusive means I had to go back to the reoute where you find him after getting the Good Rod.

Often my in-game teams usually consist of only new Pokemon introduced in that region (albeit I only started building proper teams from Gen 4 onwards) but White 2 being a sequel and offering a wide range of Pokemon lead to a team of Flygon, Ampharos (two of my favourite mon), Serperior, Arcanine, Lucario and Golduck. Then in Y, they introduced Mega Evolution and a Fairy type. When they revealed that Gardevoir would be part Fairy type I was working around the assumption that Poison would be Fairy's chief weakness because previously it was only good against Grass, and having one be part Psychic type would be good for the team. I intended Charizard to be my main Mega, I had no idea that Gardevoir had a Mega Evolution until I beat the Champion. Everyone else was a new Mon, but Transgender the Gardevoir has often been my MVP in online Free Battles and the Battle Maison (I'm not really much of a competitive player although I have played on Showdown)

  4. Look like Rockruff's description said it's gonna evolve into it's fully evolved form at night time.

So it's going to be a Werewolf Pokemon then? That sounds cool.

Already been planing out my team for Sun/Moon and so far I'm thinking that I will use Rowlet as my starter, get a Yungoos and use that as an HM slave while getting a Rockruff and Tapu Koko as permenent team members. I know that using legendarily on an in game team can be a bit divisive and veteran players shouldn't need to use one, but his design is so cool I can't help but want to use it.

If they let you have Johto starters I will probably go with Totodile, particularly if Mega Feraligatr is introduced Totodile was my starter in Gold and been wanting to use one again for a long time. Otherwise I think Mega Gyarados could fill a similar role (They ARE putting Magikarp in this game right?) and then presuming all the Kalos Pokemon aside from legendarily and starters return a Honedge would make for a decent Fairy type counter.

I used a Dragalge for that role in Pokemon Y, but his Dragon type took away his resistance to Fairy which was a problem because I caught him as a Poison type with a view to being Water/Poison. And Skrelp was baggage on the team for most of Y because he was the last Pokemon I added to the team, although I think he did land the killing blow to Valerie's Sylveon. Don't think he evolved until after he that. I do regret not using Aegislash though, which is why having one this Gen might be quite decent.

  5. Admittedly my taste in video game music is quite large and I like a large amount of music, but I feel one of the better soundtracks to come out of gaming in the last two years and one of my favourites is the Freedom Planet soundtrack. Here's some of my favourites:

As for other games, the original Xenoblade has one of the best soundtracks ever in a video game, I checked back to see what had been posted in this thread (I'm still new here) and this theme hadn't been posted yet. Probably because it's spoiler territory, but this song is just too good to be ignored.

All time favourite theme is probably the final boss of Okami though:

  6. Went back to Xenoblade X for a bit. Finally managed to get a Skell and tried to recoloured it to look like Samus Aran (Metroid is one of my favourite game series)... this is as far as I could get...

Also playing a Nuzlocke on Pokemon Yellow. Currently training for the 7th gym and the team is Flappybird/Fearow, Saur IX/Venusaur, Bananas/Primeape, Derren/Hypno, Donatello/Blastoise and Metallica/Magneton. All are currently Level 50 except Flappybird. My ruleset is the basic rules but with the added rules of not being allowed to be higher levelled than the next gym leader's best Pokemon, a rather liberal use of Dupes Clause which means only the first new Pokemon family can be caught (which is how I got Derren and Bananas) and I'm not allowed to use items in battle apart from Poke Balls.

Unfortunately Yellow's high level Gym leader Mon have made a liberal use of the level limit. Still, so far I've had only four deaths, but there was some close calls.

  7. Haven't played MK8 in a long time. I suppose I'd it were down to me I would use the Toad P-Wing combo but that's purely down to the fact that Toad has often been a character I'd use in Mario Kart and the fact that I prefer using karts in general.

My own preferred combination I don't think I could use online, I used the Mercedes chassis with a Lewis Hamilton Mii in it. I have a Miiverse post of it somewhere but I'm on a phone at the moment so can't link it.

    EDIT: Not quite it but...

  8. This Portugal side might well be the worst semi finalists ever. They've gone through the entire tournament without winning a single game in 90 minutes, only finished 3rd in their qualifying group and benefitted from the new format of the competition and then needed a late goal and then penalties to reach this stage.

Hopefully Wales or Belgium can beat them in the semis.

  9. Charjabug

    Tapu Koko

    Type - Electric/Fairy

Ability - Elekimaker (Activates electric terrain when sent out)

Tapu Koko already looks like one of my favourites from this gen.

  10. If Portugal fail to beat Hungary tomorrow then they could end up finishing 3rd and end up playing England. Meaning we could have England, Portugal, Italy, Spain. France and Germany on the same side of the draw.

Looking at that just shows what a poor decision it was by Roy Hodgson to make wholesale changes. The other side of the draw looks more favourable.

  11. Just to clarify, Synchro isn't fusion :)

Fair enough, I've seen both terms used in relation to the idea. So yeah, fusion does seem like it could happen especially given we're getting the Zygarde formes in Sun and Moon.

The plot appears to have some ties to alchemy too if multiple theorists are to be believed, which is also why Solgaleo is Psychic/Steel type. In alchemy there is a lion who eats the Sun, which may be why a lion has been chosen to be the Sun mascot.

I hear the new Pokemon movie also seems to have some links to alchemy with the plotline regarding Magearna... Pokemon and the Philosopher's Stone anyone?

  12. To be honest, it wouldn't be surprising if that bracelet that the characters are wearing turns out to be some sort of synchro evolution thing. If the anime's been pushing it then chances are that you will be able to fuse with your starter's final evos in Pokemon Sun/Moon (and possibly other Pokemon too, if Iwanko has the same kind of "secret" as Rowlet, Litten and Popplio do). But it'll probably be limited so as to not take away from Mega Evolution, with the bracelet doubling up as a Mega Bracelet.

There is definately something going on with the bracelet given that they were saying at E3 that they weren't allowed to talk about it yet.

  13. Been playing a mix of games. Started the year playing Xenoblade Chronicles X but I have found it difficult to keep my attention on that game for very long periods of time, and as soon as I downloaded Undertale I began playing that all the time instread.

Then I started to learn about the Pokemon20 legendary distributions throughout this year and gradually my Pokemon addiction returned, which has lead me to want to get all of the legendaries that I had never been able to get before. I then bought Pokken Tournament and have been playing that quite a bit, beat the first three leagues with Chandelure and began the Chroma League and recently decided to download Pokemon Yellow on Virtual Console and start a Nuzlocke.

Also dabbled with playing Final Fantasy X, but like Xenobalde it is struggling to hold my attention for long periods of time. While it has an interesting premisce I can't look past the fact that all the environments are blatantly a straight line, with only the odd diverging path for extras. I do hear that it opens up later on but at the moment it's difficult to really get invested. Then again, it might just be me struggling to pay attention to these big RPGs... might give them both another go and try and make some progression.

  14. Hodgson apparently making 6 changes for England's game against Slovakia this evening.

If that's the case then I can see why given Vardy and Sturridge have been better in 45 minutes than Kane and Sterling were in 135. At the same time I would rather we win the group and avoid having to play a group winner in the knockout rounds so hopefully the team isn't disturbed too much. Wales have an easier final game than England imo.

  15. Oracle games are pretty good games from what I can remember. But it's been ages since I touched Seasons and I still need to finish it. I think I must have gotten lost about halfway through trying to find either the 5th or the 6th dungeon or something. I can't quite remember.
