The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (26th September 2024)
EEVILMURRAY replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Looks like the world may be the same/similar to Link To The Last/Link Between Worlds, -
I got Miles Morales from CEX and blasted through it quicker than I thought. I wasn't expecting a plethora of classic Spidey villains on the side, but I was expecting more than one with Rhino. But I guess if it wasn't the length it's be padded with random repetitive tat like the first. A good experience, looking forward to playing the second when I get round to purchasing.

Donkey Country Returns HD (16th January 2025)

I'm not sure if I've gotten too used to PS5 graphics, but this doesn't seem as HD as other titles that have those letters attached to them. -
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (26th September 2024)

This looks and sounds great, I'm worried the combat won't be a bit slow to begin with if you're creating and throwing rocks, then maybe summoning enemies to fight for you... I'm hoping Zelda can whip some shit herself so I don't have to go through too many menus -
Riddle my ass... I had to look online as to how to work this out...

Second season of The Titan Games now for watching. It's like Ninja Warrior with a hint of Gladiators, created/hosted by The Rock. It feels so inspiring, and I want to hit the gym more, but I know I won't! But I have some kettlebells in the living room with me I've been working with whilst watching

That's probably why, I'm just too intimidating.

Alas, I was not chosen

@WackerJr @Beast @darksnowman Season 2 of US Traitors now on iPlayer. I recognise only Ekin-Su and for some reason John Bercow was drafted by the Americans into this, he must've gotten some proper swag over there. I'm not sure what has happened to Alan Cumming, but is cranking his campness to the extreme. He seems to have gotten more Scottish since last time, and if I didn't know he was an accomplished actor, I would say he is a person who doesn't know how to act - which is probably a compliment to his craft. It's just so cringeworthy. My mind gets torn when he turns up in a new outfit as my mind flips between "oh that's just traditional old school Scotland style", or the quote from Mean Girls "you've truly out-gayed yourself" That aside, pretty standard Traitors action, about 3 episodes in and they're doing a good job.

But that was neither highly replayable or dynamic. This looks really smooth, but this feels like a step away from the spirit of Metal Slug, which is charging the shit into people guns blazing, not Advance Wars stylie.

The Exercise & Fitness Thread: The Struggle Is Real
EEVILMURRAY replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
I think I need to get some sort of sports massage. I think I've discovered the route of my knee problems, my IT band, which apparently is more on the thigh area, but runs down the side of the leg and can rub on the knees, which is why I keep getting a twinging pain pretty much each time I'm doing some sort of bending exercise, which has been hindering lower body gains. At the moment I've been looking into mainly upper body stuff, which messes with the cardio aspect 😞 -
The PS App pinged at me saying they're giving you "game help" for the original. Which I used to help me get the rest of the pieces/artifacts I had been missing with short videos
-
Is there a hub for the pre orders? Everywhere seems to have different stuff.

I agree, but I hope they use it sparingly, Astro seems to have quite a few new tricks up his sleeve without the nostalgia being forced upon you. That being said, I loved the Journey robot.
-
I'm hoping the implication that Venom/Eddie die here isn't what is going to happen. But it is interesting to see the birth of Toxin
-
The majority of Astro's Playroom did that, which I thought was a great nod. But I am a bit concerned they're doing it (what seems) a fair bit this time, I don't want them to rely too much on the memberberries aspect, when the gameplay was awesome.

I'd love it if this were free for previous investors* (especially us Kickstarter peeps), but I know it won't I'm up for giving this another chance, as the potential was there but lost when the whole world "expanding" mechanic came in where the size was enhanced a fair bit but the content not enough to compliment it. Looks great though. *Or a discount at least, like a PS4 game given the PS5 overhaul, as I did get this on PS3/PS4, I forget, c'maaahn

Me and the sax will forever be one. This job though is horrendous. I'm trying to get back into NHS.

I pulled Belgium in a £2 sweepstake at work. Therefore I want Belgium to win.

Do you think life systems are outdated?
EEVILMURRAY replied to Glen-i's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I get the why, and I've experienced it myself. It's just that later on the effort-to-satisfaction ratio isn't worth the time taken to achieve it for me. Good on Cal to come in each day to flex though. -
Do you think life systems are outdated?
EEVILMURRAY replied to Glen-i's topic in General Gaming Discussion
An interesting discussion. Thinking about it off the bat I don't mind the life system, it gives you a bit of tension and an encouragement to actually put effort into your playthrough, because if there's no fear of consequence, it doesn't feel fun to me, because I like at least a semblance of a challenge. That being said I have abused the rewind function on Switch online quite a bit, but that's out of sheer laziness, if it didn't exist I'd still play the games. Crash Bandicoot is a great example of the reward for not losing a life, get through a level in one life and break all the boxes, you get a gem which appears in another level which gives access to a different path which may have more boxes so you can get a gem on that level. It adds a subtle layer of replayability that I didn't notice all that much, as I liked the challenge. Except High Road of course, fuck you. That said I do think it has been toned down over the years, with a few exceptions. I don't know what age these people are, but those that fist the Souls-like games can't stop blowing their load over how difficult it is and how this equals maximum fun. This is an example of the consequence concept going too far for me, especially when I die a fair distance away and have to backtrack for about 5 minutes and depending on the circumstances of my death I may be able to get my currency back, it simply sucks out then fun for me, but some people seem to love it. The only solution given as either "get good" or "grind". I could do both of these things, but I simply do not want to spend the time doing it, I've got other shit to do. I'm stuck on a bit of Dark Souls, which with a bit of practice and training, I could probably beat it. But I simply can't be arsed, and I don't feel bad about abandoning it at all. I bought the trilogy and I can't be bothered to even try 2 and 3 even though I've heard they're better, I've got more fun games to play. -
Never feel guilty about loving this game. It's awesome and I still wish I had my copy
