  1. amiibo (NFC)

I don't have any Pokemon amiibo, but I'm glad to see them finally do something outside of Smash Bros. Maybe it's time I got myself a Jigglypuff...
  2. The 3DS version looks properly amazing. The PS4 one looks good too, but I'd far rather go for the 3DS version on this. That two artstyles at once thing is fecking genius! Plus Dragon Quest IX was one of my favourite DS games so it'd be nice to have this one as a follow up to that. I really, really hope this gets localised.
  3. Football Season 2015/16

Over the moon that we drew Scotland! The friendlies were one thing, but it's been so long time since the last proper game between the two (all the way back in 1999) and it'll be great to finally resurrect the oldest rivalry. If possible, I might have to make my first trip to Wembley for that one.
  4. Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D

For what it's worth, I really enjoyed Snake Eater 3D. I should say it's the only version of the game I've played, mind. Circle pad pro is a must, though.
  5. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

Hmm, seeing a big chunk of meat being spit roast seems a little... odd in a game about befriending animal people.
  6. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

I was going to say that, since I've never tried a Dragon Quest Monsters game, I'd be quite tempted to try this one. Then I remembered that it's a Dragon Quest game on 3DS so it'll never come out here. Oh well.
  7. Rodea: The Sky Soldier

I can't decide whether I want this game or not. It sounds fairly unique and interesting and it's exactly the kind of mid-tier game that's been missing of late, but I also can't really get my head around exactly how it's supposed to play and whether it will actually be any good. I suppose it's just one of those things that you need to try out for yourself to form a proper opinion on. One thing's for sure, though. Looking at those videos, it'll definitely be the Wii version that I'm after if I do decide to take a punt on this. The remote controls just look better.
  8. R.I.P Satoru Iwata

Never have I had to fight back so many tears for somebody I never met. But then again, Nintendo has been such a big presence in my life, and Iwata such a large part of that, that I feel like I almost did know him, as perhaps does everyone who has enjoyed his products and watched his quirky directs over the years. Nintendo, the industry, and the world have lost a true great. R.I.P Satoru Iwata and thank you for the smiles and tears along the way.
  9. Zero Escape 3 (3DS/Vita)

Damn, I really need to get off my arse and finish the second game. Had it for nearly two years and I'm not even halfway done.
  10. Stop Preordering Games

Fair enough about the launch day buzz and everything. I'm just not personally bothered about that stuff, I guess.
  11. Stop Preordering Games

That makes sense, actually. There are some shops relatively near me that have decent prices, but I guess I'm just lucky and a lot of people don't have that luxury. Of course, you do need to pre-order to get an online purchase on launch day, but there is still the question of why anyone absolutely needs it on day one anyway.
  12. Stop Preordering Games

If the main reason to pre-order is to reserve something and make absolutely sure that you get one, I really don't see the point for computer games. One of the only times I pre-ordered was for the 3DS, because I was worried that there'd be initial stock shortages like the Wii and I might struggle to find one normally; but for the games themselves, the vast majority are never going to be anywhere near scarce, so surely not finding a copy can't be a legimate worry and a reason to pre-emptively secure one? Especially in this day and age of the internet where even the obscure, niche titles are relatively simple to get hold of online. The other reason I could think to pre-order is that you might want it on the day of release. But how is it any different than strolling into a shop and buying it on launch day?
  13. Tennis Games

We do have Mario Tennis coming, but that's gonna be pretty late and it's not quite the same thing is it? I do wonder whatever happened to Virtua Tennis, it seemed to be going along just fine, then kinda... stopped.
  14. Miiverse redesign is July 29

I struggle to see how anyone could be posting over Miiverse 30 posts a day anyway; I know at the peak of my Miiverse career I was only posting 2 or 3 at most. The only people I can see being really affected by that limit are the spammers and people that use it as some kind of chatroom, who I guess are the people that Nintendo are trying to weed out here. And if anything helps reduce the amount of irrelevant memes and knobs you see on things like the Smash Bros. Miiverse stage, then I'm all for it. When they say you can't post to your activity feed, though, I assume that the feed itself will still exist? I hope so, because checking out the posts of people on my friends list is one of my most used Miiverse features.
  15. New 3DS! Should it have more to offer?

For totally selfish reasons, I'd rather they didn't make many exclusives, because I'm content with my original 3DS and don't want to feel forced into buying a new one. Xenoblade I can ignore because I have it on the Wii anyway, but a brand new game I couldn't get without upgrading would rub me the wrong way. What if, rather than risk alienating everyone who hasn't upgraded (like me), by making certain games unavailable to them, they added New 3DS exclusive content and features for the people who have? A bit like how some Game Boy Color games had extra bonuses if you played them on a Game Boy Advance. New 3DS owners get a little more reward for shelling out for the machine and tightwads like me still get to play the core game. Everyone wins, right?
  16. Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (20th Nov)

I might be sounding like such a lazy pleb here, but I can't stand to watch a whole 9 minute video of those guys talking, so what exactly sounds "awful" about it? To me it looks like a (slightly) expanded take on the 3DS Mario Tennis and I liked that game.
  17. Remembering The Capcom Five

Yeah, I played the DS game, and it was pretty good, to be fair (if a little short). But in terms of storyline it was more of a side story than a sequel, and it certainly wasn't the final part of the trilogy they were talking about in the ending of 2, so yeah, I'm still waiting for the real part 3.
  18. Super Smash Bros. 3DS / Wii U

"Fan service" from now on? Dead or Alive and Senran Kagura characters here we come! "Only several characters" is a very odd phrase, as the first two words seem mutually exclusive.
  19. Fire Emblem Fates

Same sex stuff I don't have much of an opinion about, but do they really have to release it as two games? It's the same kind of idea as if Sega had released Sonic Adventure 2's dark and hero stories seperately back in the day, and no-one would have stood for that. Ugh, I thought we might escape that treatment in these parts. That said, I'll still buy it because I'm a sucker for Fire Emblem.
  20. Remembering The Capcom Five

Ah, the Capcom 5, such heady, optimistic days. Now it just reminds me that I'm still waiting for Viewtiful Joe 3. *Sob*
  21. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (Wii U)

I actually quite like the new style. I always thought Wayforward and their attempts at sexiness were a bit odd - not off-putting, just a bit... gratuitous? - even if the games are great, so a cuter, cuddlier Shantae with less focus on that is quite nice to see. Still need to play Pirate's Curse, though.
  22. Metroid Prime Wii U not likely to happen

It is worth remembering that - however unlikely it might look at the moment - we may still get a Metroid U yet, just not a Prime. The candle hasn't been blown out yet! If it happened, I'd be perfectly happy with it as well, because I don't see why the Metroid series should turn exclusively into the Metroid Prime series. Or why anyone would want it to for that matter.
  23. Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros

Yep. I know that a lot of people hated Sticker Star, but I quite liked it myself, if that's what you're getting at.
  24. Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros

This game absolutely made E3 for me. After the event ended, I barely remembered anything else that was in it because I walking on air about this. Brilliant concept to mash up two of my all-time favourite series!
  25. Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

Well, this changed quite a lot quite quickly. I know a lot of the internet's raging about this, and it's not exactly the new Metroid I've been wanting, but it looks like, taken on its own merits, it could be pretty good fun. Not a fan of the main character designs, though, even if I actually kinda dig the dinky Metroid Prime art style for the enemies and environments.
