     Pulpy action adventure.

Then they've still done something wrong, because that's not at all the vibe the show was giving.

    You must remember that

1] I once was a Star Wars fan, and

2] I had no preconceptions at all before watching this show, no bias whatsoever. I haven't watched any of the trailers, and didn't know anything besides the show being about Obi-Wan. My opinion is as objective as possible. I had no particular interest in watching the show, but neither did I have any particular reason to not watch it. If I knew I was going to hate it beforehand I wouldn't have watched it.

    Well that’s certainly a take.

You know you’ve made bad choices when you pay any attention to what Red Letter Media say.

I don't even know what red letter media is. I was laughing out loud during that scene when that green guy ran into that branch after two minutes. I was wondering if anyone uploaded that clip, and that was one of the videos that showed up.

  3. I happen to have watched the first 2 episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi, as my brother was here and started to watch it, and I thought "why the hell not" and watched along. I've not seen a single episode of any Star Wars shows, including the Clone War animations, so here's a fresh take on it.

    It's fucking shit.

    Spoiler

Most characters apart from Kebobi are dumb. Most are badly acted, directed, or written, or some combinations of those.

That Safdie brother playing one of the last Jedi.. Lasted 10 years, only dying right after finding Obi-Wan. Such a pointless character introduction.

The inquisitors are fucking retards. Completely incompetent. I take it they are villains of the show, but they come across as the comic relief. Spending all time bickering instead of doing villainy stuff (apart from finding and killing a character no one cares about). Those 3 have some really shit cliché dialogue between them.

The kidnappers are retards. I don't know how, but they miraculously manage to kidnap an annoying little Leia. That's all pointless because Kenobi saves her in one episode, while Reva is doing parkours as an exercise. Then the other inquisitor shows up, they bicker some more, then she finally kills him, while Kenobi and Leia are long gone. It's a dumb end to a dumb character. Fucking idiots. This (them killing eachother) feels like something that should have happened long before the events of this show, and I don't know how this boss inquisitor didn't see it coming. All talk, but he should have killed Reva himself a long time ago. Like I said, they are all retards, and deserve to be shot in the face by a little girl (not Leia).

Leia is safely returned home, so this feels like a good point to end the series on. Unless the 3rd episode is a Jerry Springer episode with the remaining inquisitors as guests.

This was too good to hide in a spoiler. At one point the show was so dumb that it was hilarious. This pretty much sums up the show for me.

Was half expecting (well, considerably more than half expecting..) to be raked over the coals for not appreciating and embracing yet another media darling but found your appraisal of it oddly comforting 😅

Forgive me if there's already a thread for this game, but I've just gone back 15 pages in Other Consoles and can't seem to find it, so I guess not?

That's why they invented the search :indeed:. (Dead Space)

The game was great, though I never finished it because of a floaty mouse.. I'll need to re-install it some day and play it with a controller.

If you haven't played it I'd say go for it, but personally I don't have any need for a remake. I'll happily play the old version.

  6. I find this interesting purely from a business perspective.

I don't think this will cause EA much trouble, they can probably still say "from the makers of FIFA 23!", and be done with it.

The only way this can cause trouble is if another (AAA) studio comes with a competent (prefferably even better) football game, and snaps up the FIFA license, in 24. Honestly I don't see that happening.

@Sméagol The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story got review scores of 8/9/8/8 in Famitsu so it seems to have turned out to be pretty decent!

Nice. I haven't been following releases lately, but I saw it pop up somewhere recently. It's coming out tomorrow right? As it's probably not much affected by drift, I may actually just get it.

  8. I bought some Criterion releases a while ago. In the Mood for Love and El Laberinto del Fauno. They don't ship outside of the US on their own site, so I bought them from Amazon back then. There are quite a few films I want from them, but I'm currently not buying blu-rays. I still keep an eye out on their new releases, they recently released Shaft, which is cool.
