1. Free to a good home

Haha, have loads of stuff as well, don't know if’s to any use of you though. And to be honest, I don’t think I can be arsed with posting stuff.. I have for example some old Kinder Surprise toys that I’m thinking of geting rid of (making somebody happy hopefully), but I’ll probably just put a note in the Supermarket.
2. Funny Stuff Thread

The pose reminded me of something I saw earlier..
3. Majora's Mask

You know what I hated about Majora’s Mask? This little (well, “little”) motherfucker: After reading this thread, I remembered my first encounter with the jackass. It actually managed to hit me, and I think it stole a bottle. And it actually managed to get away with it! I certainly tried taking it down, but I wasn’t fast enough. So, without my precious bottle, I panicked (can you imagine if it had stolen my sword), and I hit the reset button, not knowing if it was permanent, and not a clue how I could get it back (and even now I know, I’m definitely not paying for something I already own ). Ever since, I took pleasure in hunting it down for some major cash whenever I was on my Rupee rolling sprees. I also never knew what was up with the lone guay flying around town, which never attacked. Just read on a wiki what it’s purpose was.
4. Scams?

Isn't there anything you can do about those phonecalls though? I assume their numbers are withheld, still, your phone provider should be able to trace them down. File a report to the police? Maybe too much trouble for the average person to go through with, but I personally would take pleasure in taking them down, I think. I've never heard of such scams here, but we do often have cases of skimming (people copying your ATM card). It happened to my mother some time ago.
5. Funny Stuff Thread

Nopes. Stopped after 2 minutes, because it reminded me of something far more cooler (and now I think of it, I may have posted this already).
6. Circle Pads?

Hmm, I have to admit I have barely any experience with slidepads, I think I’ve used them on a PSP some time. But I’m pretty sure I’d prefer normal analogue sticks. The fact the PS Vita is moving away from them says a lot. You have a point, but for me personally.. I find this only a minor inconvenience I can live with. They are 2 unrelated devices with very different functions. The Kindle is not a gamecontroller. I find the WiiU controller already borderline ugly (well, perhaps that’s a bit exaggerating, but not much), some sticks won't matter. Especially since we’re already used to seeing sticks on controllers. I love great design, and I’m not too proud to admit I often choose form over function, but this is a case where I’ll do the opposite. It is a controller, at least, that’ll be it’s main function. It’ll probably have verious other uses as well, thought up by casual game developpers. But it’s main function is to control your games (or other WiiU applications) on your screen. And I’ve never broken an analogue stick, but then I have amazing self‐control . I’m not necessarily expecting one, but I do want one. Control‐wise, it may be my favourite traditional controller ever, but it loses points for the useless remote inconveniently attached to it, and changing batteries is a serious hassle. In fact, I’d love to have a wired classic controller pro. No batteries, no remote attached. All the fun.
7. Yes! I did it! I’ve used up every single available character space in the title. I must’ve broken a record. Do I win something? Anyway. I love this song. I just heard it on the radio again.. And decided it should get a thread. For those just interested in the song: But for those interested in an interactive experience based on the song, should click here: [Rome] I don't know the technical requirements, but it is based on HTML 5, javascript and WebGL. It doesn't hurt to make sure you use the latest version of Chrome (again, don't know if other browsers work. When this experiment launched I believe 11 was the current Chrome version), and you have the latest graphic drivers installed. And make sure you don't have crap internet, that last thing was the only thing holding me back from getting this to fully work some time ago. [behind the scenes] Edit: Quick test of all the browsers I have installed: it only works with Chrome. It does something on Firefox, and won’t even let you start on Safari, Opera or Internet Explorer. Haven’t tried developpers versions though, I heard Opera had one with WebGL support, but dunno if that’ll work. IE 10 doesn’t work.
8. Killer Freaks from Outer Space

Haha, I like the look of this! Too bad it wasn't shown on Nintendo’s E3 site, because I hadn’t heard about this untill now. And yes, I had exactly the same games in my mind as mentioned above: L4D, Raving Rabbids, and House of the Dead, in that order.. That sounds promising . I agree though, for these games I prefer a remote / nunchuck combo, with the WiiU controller aside if needed. Haha, I love how the first person to react to the spam has an Itunes app link in his sig . You must be the most advanced bot ever!
9. Sorry dude, I can't sign-up after passing up Tales’ game, that would be such a dickmove ;). It's not anything personal, or a lack of interest, I was interested in both your games (Tales' game even a bit more), but I'm not in the mood to play right now.

If you'd wait a couple of weeks ;).

10. To be precise, I'm from Schiedam, The Netherlands ;).

11. Cheapest way into 3D gaming? (passive 3D)

Exactly, both glasses filter out different parts of the light, but obviously you retain all the colours with this method. Don't ask me how this polarisation works exactly.. You can find more technical details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polarized_3D_glasses
12. Cheapest way into 3D gaming? (passive 3D)

Rather than using active shutter glasses, you use passive glasses which are cheap and don't use any moving parts. The polarise the image you get from the screen, so you get 2 individual images. The screen sends both of them out simultaneously, using different polarisations for left and right.
13. The Future of MotionPlus

To me the only 2 current options for FPS control are mouse & keyboard or wiimote+ & nunchuck. Don't want dual analog. The WiiU controller seems to uncomfortable to hold with 1 hand.. So WiiU controller & wiimote+ isn't likely to be an option. I still want it somewhere near me, for an handy map and a few touchbuttons, because it would be a waste not to use the controller, but the pure movement should be done with the wiimote+ & nunchuck combo. I won't settle for anything less for my WiiU FPS exclusives. For other genres / games, well it depends. Options are endless now.
14. Volcano Eruption in Chile

Aww.. Why can't we have a volcano..
15. Norse Mythology Mafia

Sorry dude, still on my break, but it sounds very interesting what you're doing, so I'll make sure to read along. This is a popular site for the forums: http://www.proboards.com/
16. Footer problems

Yay! No problem.
17. The patent specifies it's getting a videosignal from the console, which I don't think is the case with the WiiU.
18. Footer problems

I've seen it enough for a while .
19. Footer problems

Yup, I was ready to expain everything if necessary, but at the time, I just wanted to get the code and the post done, and be done with it . I've added some explanation in comments in the original post. If you need to know more, just ask.
20. Footer problems

Damn. Finally.. I think I nailed it. Sorry for the late response, I was at it all night the day before yesterday, but I couldn't figure it out (I even went hardcore and referenced the W3 technical specification.. Box models, yay!). Then E3 happened, and yesterday I had other stuff on my mind. I was back at it this night though, and I think I got it. The thing is, the sticky footer Cube and Ten10 posted works fine, but it isn't catered to your code. It's hard implementing stuff in existing code like that. You can't simply copy/paste. Also, you probably used a template and/or IDE did you? This isn't the best way to learn.. Notepad is far more useful in the beginning. Anyway, your problems: 1] The major gap. It is gone. Did you do anything major to your code? I believe you didn't. You already mentioned it was Chrome specific.. And I tested this, and indeed, the gap didn't show up in every major other browser, including future versions of Chrome. So I think yesterday's update actually removed the bug, and the gap with it. 2] However, this bug accidentally led to a problem which wasn't technically visible to you, you also use the 1920*1080 resolution right? You want your footer at the bottom of the screen at all times, but in this resolution, this is always the case, because of that ridiculously huge picture at the top. But for those people with bigger screens, and when you don't have enough content on your screen, the footer won't be at the very bottom, but just at the end of your content. It is so strange that this is a huge problem in CSS, where it would be so easy to solve in a humble table layout. Anyway.. I hope I have the right code now (I've tried various stuff), but you need to follow these steps exactly. Anything you need to add or change is in red or orange, the rest is for reference, so you know where to add it. In your CSS file: html, body { margin: 0; padding: 0; background: url(windows.jpg); background-color: #010f3c; background-repeat: repeat-y; background-attachment: fixed; font-family: corbel, calibri, arial, verdana, sans-serif; height: 100% ; /* This is a bit too technical to explain in a comment, but basically, you specify here that the body needs to occupy 100% of the screen. Seems a strange thing to specify, but it's technically needed because some other elements need this as a frame of reference later on. */ } #main { margin: 0 auto -16px; width: 1220px; text-align: center; /* the negative margin is too make space for the footer (or the push to be precise), otherwise it will drop just below the screen */ } #banner { width: 1000px; height: 564px; /* height: 50px ; */ /* You already figured it out, but this is just for testing purposes, you can comment out the real height, and delete the comment marks on the 50px height, to see if the sticky footer works for you */ float: center; /* By the way, this doesn't do anything. */ } .wrapper { min-height: 100%; /* This tells the browser that the element with this class, your main div in this case, is at least as high as the (available!) screen. */ height: auto !important; /* I dunno, what I did was copy the sticky footer Cube and Ten10 linked, and adjusted it to your code, but I dunno what this does exactly, except that it's there for compatibility reasons. */ height: 100%; /* Same as above. These 2 can be deleted, and you shouldn't notice a difference in up-to-date browsers. */ margin: 0 auto -16px; /* This is one of the things that had to be adjusted for your code.. Copied from the sticky footer, it places the negative margin here, but you already specified a margin within the #main selector, which overrides what's specified here. So I moved the negative margin to there. This last bit doesn't have a function anymore because it's specified above, so you can actually delete this. */ } .push { height: 16px; /* This is a bit of hidden space that makes sure the footer doesn't overlap with your content. Sort of like a placeoholder.*/ } #footer { height: 16px ; /* Simply your preferred height for the footer. */ width: 100%; clear: both; background-color: #262626; text-align: center; color: #808080; font-size: 0.7em ; white-space: nowrap ; /* I added this bit to make sure the height stays the same even when someone resizes the window or views your site on small screens.. Variable heights will mess your footer up. */ } The 3 values I marked in orange all 3 need to be the same. This is why I don't particularly like this solution, I would like the height to be variable, but you need to specify it for this solution, and in 3 places at the same time. I chose 16px, but you can change it, but if you do do it in pixel units. I came across another problem while trying to find the solution, and it took a while before I figured out it was something not directly related to it.. It seems that for some reason, if you specify the font-size in em units, this will affect the height of the element containing the text, if you have specified this in em units as well (and I assume with a different value). This is currently the case on your site. I'll have to research this, but for now it seems to work. I'll come back to the pinkish addition. In your HTML file: <div id="main" class="wrapper"> <!-- Simply connecting your wrapper CSS to the main div --> [..] <div id="bodybottom"></div> <div class="push"></div> <!-- This actually makes the hidden div that will “push†your footer --> </div> You can use the pink addition in the CSS file to test your site. Again, I thought you also used the full HD resolution (like me), so you won't be able to see it function, if you do use a larger screen, it should be visible right away. If not, you can comment out the real height of your banner, and use the 50px height to test if your footer sticks at the (exact) bottom. Let me know if it works. I assume it does.. I mean, I'm no expert myself, so this proved to be a good exercise, but I really, really don't want to see your footer again .
21. Whedonverse

You shouldn't compare it to BG, Paj. You don't like sci-fi apart from BG? Anyway, after Angel, I was eagerly anticipating what Whedon would do next, and I was pretty shocked and disappointed when I learned he was going to do a sci-fi western show. “Those 2 can't mix..” I thought. But I bought the box for my brother as a present, and watched it anyway.. And I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. It just worked. Cast is great. The universe is very well conceived. The atmosphere can ve very gritty at times, in a horror / sci-fi / western way, but lighthearted at others. The only complaint you can have about this show is that it ends after 14 eps and a movie.
22. The Gentlemen's Mafia II - Hunter's Chance

Leave him be.. For now. I want a part III as much as the next person, but I do think we should give it some considerable time before we plunge ourselves into massive epicness . There will be plenty of great mafia games in the meantime.
23. Whedonverse

Well, but how far in advance did they know? The finale may not have been filmed at the time, but they need time to set things up properly for a series finale, as opposed to a season finale. I doubt they had the chance to. But you're right, and I've already said myself this is just how I feel about it. Dollhouse though, I've never actually seen, so I can't really comment on it. Perhaps its ending is (/feels) proper despite the circumstances.
24. Whedonverse

But those details are important. This felt just like the ending of a season,
25. Whedonverse

Yup, that's not what I call an ending. Not a proper one at least. This is a typical “Oh shit, show got cancelled” ending .
