2 hours ago, Ronnie said:Not sure their fans who bought tickets well in advance would find it understandable. Sony could have given a bit more notice.
But it's like shows like EGX and Gamescom. Tickets go on sale before anyone knows what will be on show. Kind of a pot-luck scenario.

Following on, i've been playing The Wolf Among Us. Didn't know what to think to begin with, it was on sale on PSN over Halloween so i snapped it up (the Vita edition). Loved it, can see why people rate this the better of the Telltale games series. Ok, the controls on Vita were a little dodgy (and the game crashed twice during my play). That's not including the rickity framerate and audio drop-outs i encountered either. None the less, it was a good experience.

It's a shame Miiverse is gone, Nintendo could have updated it on Switch and added a Twitter integration to it (aka share Miiverse posts with a touch of a button, thus free advertising). It was the best thing about the WiiU at times.

Amazon dropped the ball with pre-orders. Checking across various sites, it seems the mess-ups are on orders made back when they went up. Some people who ordered an Xbox One X a few days or weeks ago seemed to get theirs no problem. One or two Scorpio edition pre-orders were cancelled/not delivered, and those people are not happy.

Made a start last night. It's great to be back in the Horizon universe.
SpoilerFought one of the new beasts on my way to the first mission point. It took some doing, it's a tough sob. Had to use a few stickies to get it down in health, it's weak to frost. Story is strong so far. However i've been exploring the wilderness more than the story. There's a Tallneck stuck in ice which you have to free, and that means collecting parts around the area. And more fighting against more of the new versions of beasts.
I came across the new towers which repair the machines. You can hack them, however you gotta take out the machines in the area. It's sort of a timer on it, as the tower will repair the machines if you're not quick enough.
Can't wait to get back into this tonight.

That's extremely impressive, no wonder it's aimed at those who want the best out of a machine. And it'll only get better when developers unlock it's true potential.

I'm on my annual Destiny break as usual. Initially, i took the break to play Stick of Truth and Origins. Now that Horizon's DLC is out, that's taking priority. Then back to Origins before probably slipping to Destiny again. The content isn't bringing me back as it did in the original, hopefully that's rectified with the Osiris expansion.

Cancelled the WWE Network in October, they sent an email 4 days later with 3 free months, so i can't say no to that.

That's understandable, Paris Games Week was jam packed with content.

Was thinking of playing a bit before going to work today, but i got up a little late. Looking forward to it, and sampling the new features in photomode. Expect a few snaps to pop up over the next week.

More Horizon is the only thing that'll put Assassin's Creed on hold for me. I'm excited none the less, can't wait until tomorrow. The Access team did a video about 6 things we may not have heard about in Horizon's DLC. One of which interests me, which is.
SpoilerThere is a new tower system, one that repairs the robots and disables any you ride if you get too near it. And apparently, you can hack it.

Wish they'd stop giving out That's You! now, it's been on for months now.

Tomorrow Children closed it's doors last night, what a shame really. Still, I popped on for a while to play for the last time last night.

Over time, i understand that people move on and do other things in life, that they drift away as such. The General board used to be heaving, i could hardly keep up with the updates and what's been said where. Now it's easy enough to do in a few minutes. However, the gaming boards (specifically Nintendo) have picked up a lot.

When they were on about the infrastructure of PSN, i was 1/2 expecting an announcement on integration of PS Now to PS+ subscribers to compensate the price rise.
One can still hope can they?

Shhh......maybe.

It's got inFamous-type vibes to it.

Out right now.
I'm holding off, been specifically told to not get any more games this year by the Mrs, plus my backlog is enough to keep me going. It's on my wishlist.

So, this is out Friday. Several Youtube and streamers have early consoles with a bunch of games to test out. Seems they are trying hard to get a market going for it.

Is it just me, or does it feel like a Nintendo Direct to anyone else? We’re jumping from trailer to trailer and getting through this stuff very quickly; seems like they’ve learned their lesson from E3.
It feels like that, but then the timing is good. Microsoft's 4k offering is coming on Friday. Sony go out and deliver game after game.

I'm struggling to keep up with these announcements.

Just comparing ResetERA and Gaf with the conference.
Gaf is on 6 pages
ERA is on 87 pages.

A lot of VR on the way.
Horizon: Zero Dawn
in Other Consoles

Just finished Frozen WIlds. More of what we love about Horizon, with some additional new stuff added.
Fireclaws are tough and fast. The story is interesting, it does tie in nicely with the main story and the Eclipse. The new weapons do make the final boss on the main story easier than before. However, the final boss in the Frozen Wilds (basically, a bear-like Fireclaw) is tough even on normal difficulty. It's nice to see a new AI in the game, something other than GAIA.
