Check out this stream from just under a month ago, when @Josh64 and I decided to play some Wave Race 64 and Pokémon Puzzle League...

    Oh wow. :o:laughing:

I can’t stand the sound it makes when trying to catch up, it’s like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. :shakehead

I will say though... @RedShell about the ethernet situation, have you considered using an ethernet hub?

Nope. Will definitely look into it now though, thanks for the suggestion. :)

I've been using a four or five port hub for a while, and am about to upgrade to an 8-port hub, as with the amount of wired consoles that are online and still functional, it's definitely required. (DC, GC, Xbox OG, Xbox One, Switch, PS5... (soon) plus a PC etc)

I always forget that the Dreamcast had online capabilities. Probably because I got mine many years later and never once used it online. :hehe:
Anyway, that’s cool how you have all of those consoles connected at once, and are still making use of them too.
Pretty much all of my retro systems are buried in a cupboard somewhere. :heh:

Can really vary quite wildly.  Sometimes it ends up being flawless and sometimes it's lag central.  Kind of luck of the draw really.

I jumped in with WiFi.  I normally use Ethernet when we play N64 online, but I was only jumping in for a few mins so I couldn't be bothered to set up with Ethernet this time (Wasn't even gonna be able to join originally, as I was supposed to working a night shift at work originally but ended up having to call in sick).  Using Ethernet does help a bit, but our home connection can't usually handle 3 Switches trying to play N64 online at once. N64 NSO is just more demanding than most other Switch online games (which I guess makes sense since it's translating button presses over the internet in real-time for four players).

The other NSO apps aren't as demanding as the N64 one.

I see. Yeah, I'm not a fan of setting up Ethernet either, as it means swapping the cable over from my PC to Switch, and I'm starting to notice that the connection on my PC can be a bit flaky after doing so. :blank: But yeah, next time I play the N64 app online I shall try to remember to use Ethernet.

Anyway, cheers for the info, and hope you feel better soon. :peace:

As well as Ronald, make a habit of checking the Challenge Cup Venue after each club medal you get. Challenge Cups in progress will go away if you get another medal, and they have some promo cards too.

    Whoops. :heh:

Are there Pikachu promo cards in this? Asking for a friend.

Anyway, I have to say this game is actually pretty cool. Don't have any memory of playing it back in the day, but have put a few hours into it on Switch and it's definitely growing on me.

Thought it was absolutely atrocious initially, mind you (came very close to giving up on it actually :hehe:) but once I better understood what the hell was going on a bit more, I started to enjoy it. :) Soundtrack helped a lot too!:

    :bouncy:

Calm down composer! We've only paused the game.

It did clear up once you left though.

Yeah, I saw that in S.C.G's stream. Looks like the connection was a bit iffy again when DCubed joined though.
Does it just not handle 4 players very well, or is it another one of those cases where a wired connection is basically a requirement? :hmm:

I only ever use Ethernet on Switch when playing Smash Bros. really, so was on Wi-Fi last night, perhaps that was the problem. ::shrug: What connection type was everyone else using?

Well, he can't make it for 7:30, but I guess I never asked him if he'd be willing to play some custom matches at 10pm instead.

Well, @RedShell, what do you say? Because I don't want to cut anyone's time down from the standard 2 hours. That wouldn't be fair. But I'm sure @Ike won't mind if we faff about with stuff outside the two hour window.

If you guys are sure you'd be up for even more Smash at 10pm, then yeah, I'm cool with that. :) I probably won't join the arena until a bit later on though, as I definitely don't have the stamina for over 2 hours of this type of game any more! :hehe:

That cool for both of you?

I wouldn’t be able to join that early. How about standard stages from 8pm for an hour and a half, then 30 mins of custom mayhem?

Anyway, the last thing I want is to be responsible for people not having fun or dropping out, so even if you just keep it 100% standard stages, I’m totally cool with that. :)

This will be the first time he'll be playing since "Sora Night" back in October 2021.

Wow, didn’t realise it’s been that long! :o
Looking forward to joining you guys for this again. :)

I’ll have to remember to connect my Switch via ethernet cable, hopefully I can find the adapter that I’ve not seen/used since October 2021! :hehe:

Seems retailers are selling the expansion pack now which means it can be gotten a bit cheaper, for example, Shopto are selling it for £26.85.

Yup, and I finally picked up the Expansion Pack sub as a result. :)

Got a lot of content to catch up on now, with the MK8DX and Animal Crossing DLC, plus all of the additional retro console stuff. Currently trying to focus on Banjo-Kazooie, which I've somehow never played through fully before! :o It can be tricky to readapt to old school games like this sometimes though (especially with how weird it is playing N64 with a modern controller layout :heh:) but I'm making an effort to stick with it. :hehe:

guess you'll be joining us on a Saturday for Smash too?

    Hopefully, yeah. :)

I’ve not played Smash in absolutely ages either, so that will be interesting too. :heh:

    *EDIT*

    Long distance suddenly banana! :hehe::

And nice Green Shell bounce @BowserBasher

    *EDIT 2*

What the hell did they do to the music on L.A. Laps!? :shakehead

Most of the MK8DX renditions improve on the Tour versions, but I'm definitely not a fan of how they handled that one. :hmm:

@RedShell You may wish to check out Smash Remix Version 1.4.0 as the main additional character reveal should prove to be popular...  ;)

Wow! :o That is absolutely glorious, thanks for bringing it to my attention. :)

Not sure if I'll ever get around to playing it for myself, but it was great just to see that trailer and your gameplay of it.

  11. Would be cool to see R.O.B make a comeback. :D

Also, they might still add Wiggler to Tour (I really thought he was already in it :hehe:) as some of the previous Booster Pass content has ended up in Tour at a later date.
