Eww. No it wouldn't.

Battle Mode is coming to Tour next week: Guess this game is still doing pretty well for Nintendo then?
-
I never tried Stadia, but having recently spent a few months with Xcloud on Game Pass Ultimate I can say that it was definitely a smooth experience. Not perfect, but it only really messed up badly on a handful of occasions. 99.9% of the time it was absolutely spot-on. Was surprised to discover that the main issue with cloud gaming (for me at least) isn't latency but actually picture quality, and that's something which is only going to improve over time with better compression methods and increased internet speeds. Anyway, even though Google dropped the ball with Stadia, I'm still convinced that cloud gaming will become the primary distribution method for the industry in the not too distant future in exactly the same way streaming became so dominant in the music and film industries.

Wow! That looks amazing. Unfortunately I’m currently stuck with LABO VR and an Oculus Go as my only VR options, but otherwise I would totally be checking that out.

4th area is my record so far. Got a feeling I might struggle to finish this game… Think I’m just too old for this genre now, you know, the “literally everything can kill you” genre. @Glen-i, how goes your progress? Based on your previous post I assume you’ve completed it already.
-
Nice! I still can't even get to the third area.
-
For anyone that’s playing this, are the news broadcasts now skippable even when first starting up the game? Or is that ticker tape feature they showed in the Direct only available when your already playing?
-
Man, this game is pretty tough! It’s a struggle to even get passed the first area. I can’t wait to discover more locations though, mainly to hear what the music will be like. This one is probably my fave at the moment: Also, it’s been ages since I played the original game, but did Shovel Knight always move so slowly? He’s definitely on the sluggish side in this game anyway, especially compared to enemies. Looks as if you can upgrade his speed though, which is probably why the base speed is so bad. It’s cool whenever you get some more open sections of a map and can just drop down, bouncing off enemies as you go. Major Downwell vibes during those moments.

Yeah. It did seem like Nintendo were starting to get a bit more lax with their IP in recent years, but I guess the reality is they’re still way too overprotective.

I’ve got back into this game quite a bit since its relaunch. There are some crazy costumes available in the current season… Spock, Hatsune Miku and a Xenomorph! It’s really great how many different IP they manage to get hold of. Still nothing from Nintendo yet though I see. I’m guessing if they were going to get anything from them it would’ve coincided with the launch of the Switch version though, so probably not going to happen now, which is a shame.

The Steam Deck has gyro? Damn, moving that thing around must be quite the workout! I think this game might be mouse/keyboard controls only on PC at the moment, in which case I’ll probably wait until controller support is added.

Hilarious. Playing other stuff at the mo, but definitely tempted to just ditch everything else and get this immediately.

Started this today (Apple Arcade version) I’m digging it so far. Didn't realise it was developed in collaboration with Nitrome! Great choice though, as they’re top-notch when it comes to pixel art, and have previously made some great stuff. Soundtrack is very much on point too, with Jake Kaufman returning. Anyone else playing?

As some of you might be aware I recently replayed Konami Krazy Racers on the Wii U VC, and as is always the case whenever I play an old Konami game these days, I start thinking about all of those classic games and characters that have now become neglected, especially my favourites, TwinBee and Goemon. You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse Goemon/Mystical Ninja is without doubt my absolute favourite Konami franchise though, so I decided to try and find out what (if anything) is currently going on with it, and to my surprise (and disgust) I discovered that the 2 most recent uses of the Goemon IP have been for a bloody Pachinko slot machine! But it gets worse, when I checked out footage of said slot machine, I was shocked to discover that the video elements of it feature new and improved character models, new music (including remixes of classic tunes from the console games) and a general level of polish that makes it look like it could be from a current generation home console game! They didn't just slap old assets on to this thing, they've completely reworked stuff and put actual effort into it. Don't know whether to laugh or cry, but it's beyond depressing to see this kind of energy being used on something I love but for something so trivial. I mean just look at this: And listen to this: Goddammit! Why, Konami!? Wish I could go back in time and not learn about any of this, was actually happier just thinking Goemon was completely dead. Anyway, we all know the Konami of old is long dead, and the recent shenanigans with MGSV/Kojima and the cancellation of P.T. have done nothing but worsen the situation, but Konami still insist that they haven't abandoned the traditional gaming space, even though they don't appear to have any new projects on the go. I don't recall anything being announced at E3 or TGS, and now that MGSV and the latest PES are out, there appears to be nothing on the horizon from them at all! So what do people think, are Konami lying, delusional, or is it something else? Will we see more video games from them, or is it truly the end?

Do you use many mods in general? I occasionally look into them, but always end up getting put off by the potential faff and then never bother. The only thing I persevered with was the Resi 4 HD Fan Project, as that was just too good to miss out on. It was relatively straightforward to install too. Most of the Yakuza mods I’ve seen are model swaps, like switching Kiryu with Haruka. I’m pretty sure someone fixed the Ono Michio costume in Yakuza 6 too, so you can always wear the proper one with a gigantic head.
-
Indeed. I’d pretty much given up on them ever being released for PC, so I’m glad they finally got it sorted out.

I see the Judgement games have finally arrived on PC. Man, Ryu Ga Gotoku/Sega are on a roll today!

Oh yeah, forgot about that little detail. -
Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name (PS4/5, Xbox, PC - 2023)

What is going on?! Well, at least this barrage of Yakuza titles has helped me to forget about yesterday’s Nintendo Direct. -
Like A Dragon: Ishin Remake (PS4/PS5 - Feb 23)

No way?! Better check my PS4 still works. Scratch that, it's also coming out on PC. -
Kiryu looks hilarious but man, that teaser still gave me goosebumps.

NINTENDO DIRECT (13/09/22, 3pm UK time - not released until 4pm in UK)
RedShell replied to Ronnie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well, it was the only thing that got any sort of reaction from me during the entire direct (mainly because at first I thought it might’ve been a port/sequel of the PS4 FotNS game) but no… probably not. Yeah, I was massively disappointed by that Direct. What’s with all these bloody farming games!? Either I’m just completely jaded when it comes to Nintendo now, or they simply don’t cater to long-time fans like me anymore. The only game that remains on my radar for Switch is Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Bayonetta 3 would’ve been too, but it’ll probably end up on PC at some point, in which case I’ll play it there. It’s cool that those Resident Evil games are heading to Switch (albeit in cloud form) for anyone that hasn’t played them before. I recently picked up the entire series on PC via Humble Bundle so I’m all set for a Resi marathon over Halloween. I guess GoldenEye is a pretty big deal too (although not exactly a surprise) but I’ve already played it to death. I’d also be more interested in the Game Pass version seeing as that one will at least be somewhat improved over the original performance wise. Anyway, happy for anyone that enjoyed that direct, but for me it was actually one of the worst ever. At this rate it’s going to take an absolute miracle for Nintendo to get me on board for any of their future hardware. -
Yeah, I'm being optimistic here. Anyway, hopefully Nintendo have been paying attention to all the fans who have been complaining about this for 7 years.

It looks like a ticker tape of the news will run in the top left of the screen when you start the game and you have to click the L Stick to actually watch it, which if so, is a pretty good solution. But yeah, I struggle to see how that, and everything else shown in this Direct couldn't have just been added to Splatoon 2 as further DLC. The Tricolour turf war looks cool, but again, why not just add it to Splatoon 2?
