  1. Cut content from Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS.

    Coming from Source Gaming...

    1. Rock Pikmin were planned but ultimately put on hold. It’s unknown if development had begun on these Pikmin, but they likely would have been added had there been more time. Rock Pikmin would have been heavy with short reach but high attack power.
    2. Co-op play was planned for Smash Run, but the 3DS’s processor was unable to display multiple fighters on the same screen, so the mode was dropped.
    3. Co-op power-ups for Smash Run were also scrapped alongside co-op play.
    4. Sakurai initially considered including four versions of each Special. One slide displays Mario launching a double fireball, a feature not present in the retail version.
    5. He also considered adding special rules to 4-on-4 Team Battles, similar to the multiplayer mode in Kid Icarus: Uprising, Light vs. Dark, but no such features were implemented.
    6. Mii Fighters’ Specials were originally going to be included as in-game rewards (much like other characters’ Custom Specials), but they ended up as default content.

It was a nightmare again getting from C+ to B-. Another couple of hours at least, it could easily be four hours. Must check the Daily Log and I got it on the second last game before the changeover.

  5. That ties in with a mysterious comment by Square-Enix from before much was known about "Revolution". They said something like "Not just a console, not just a portable..." Then the Wii was released and it didn't make sense.

I remember Miyamoto ta'king about playing console games without a TV years and years ago. Back around the time of the Gamecube.

Can I find that article? I'll see.

  6. As generic as it is Ronnie, I still think it's a much better package than Splatoon, if someone wants a shooter for the WiiU I'd point them at BO2.

Also, I find it funny how you point out that we've seen these types of games thousands of times yet you're actually yet to play one.

It's like saying I've seen thousands of people have steak but I won't ever have one because so many others do. It's just generic. Whereas a steak is a nice dish!

I understand what you mean even though I'm not a big fan of steak. That's not a euphemism, I really don't care for steak.

  7. As far as Splatoon goes, I'd not say it's a must-have. Overall I prefer CoD Black Ops 2 as far as a shooter goes and would recommend that over Splatoon.

Overall, I'd probably pick Black Ops II as well if it had a stronger online community though that's not the games fault. Splatoon is great fun and hugely different from other games but there's a lot of frustration with it too.

  9. Well F#CK that! No word of a lie, it took me 2 hours to get from C to C+ on Tower Control. Absolute nightmare, I felt like smashing up the room. Kept getting up to 95 then -10, -10, +15, -10, -10, -10 and on and on and on. The scoring system is a b1tch. Don't want to see this game again for a bit after that. I don't care what anybody says the controls are horrendous. It's fine playing normal games but trying to finesse a breeze block for accuracy is annoying. And in tight situations the camera is awful. It's right up in your face and you've no idea what's going on.

  10. Fuck me they're rotating ranked modes... how often? What are nintendo thinking with this game. They're in serious danger of ruining it!!

I'd imagine every 4 hours. It's been on for the whole day just because it's new and to give everybody a chance to get used to it but it'll probably start changing at 3a.m., the time it was unlocked at.

  11. Toad was january....

I think Mario Maker, Star Fox, Fatal Frame, Xenoblade, Mario Tennis is a better collection of games than we we got last year.

    Oh yeah, Starfox. :(

Super Mario Maker is the start of September, that'll be great. Fatal Frame should be good, it doesn't have a release date though you'd imagine Halloween.

Mario Tennis and Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival are turd sandwiches.

Starfox could have been good but it's rushed, looks fugly, generic, lacks online, dual controls are a forced necessity and not comfortable. If they turn it around I'll be impressed but some things won't change like leaving out online.

Oh and Toad was out everywhere else for Christmas including the early release in the UK and a few other spots in Europe even though it was officially January 2nd.

  12. What are Nintendo going to have as their Christmas title this year? Xenoblade Chronicles X? That's alright for me but it's not going to wash with the masses.

Last year we had Smash Bros. Wii U and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. Or even Halloween? Again there was Bayonetta 1&2.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash? God help us if that's their plan for Christmas.

  13. Saltspray Rig in Tower Control is $h1t. It can be over in about 20-25 seconds. I died once at the start and it was over before I even respawned. It's as bad as a Battle Mode track in Mario Kart 8. Kelp Dome though is very good. There's lots going on in that level.

  14. I didn't realise Tower Control and Splat Zones were done in rotation. That's pants. Maybe there's hardly enough people playing ranked mode as is that a split would make it harder to find a match. So if you want to play one or the other mode, you might have to wait 4 hours? You've got to seriously question Nintendo's logic at times.

  15. For this year’s E3 in particular, Nintendo focused on the products that are significant for our doing business in the U.S. this year.

Why was Genei Ibun Roku X FE(Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem) shown so? That has a vague 2016 date and I can say with near certainty that by this date next year it still won't have been released in the West.

For example, during last year’s E3, we highlighted some of our experimental software to demonstrate the unique attractions of the Wii U hardware because its appeal had not yet been sufficiently conveyed.

Projects Humpty and Dumpty demonstrated nothing good and they did not convey the appeal of the hardware. They were a failure and rightfully weren't shown again this year.

And because we did not include a number of third-party titles, we must’ve ended up giving people the impression that not so many titles will be released on our platforms in future.

3rd parties? Don't get me started. I could pick holes right throughout that piece but can't be @rsed(those 3 quotes aren't even halfway through). Everyone knows it's lies. We've had this information from the AGM already and it's just begging to kick a hornet's nest again. But I'm out.

  16. I've ordered my family to get me a Wii U for my 29th (my third one but since its a gift I obviously won't sell).

Now I need one of those @STALKER good Wii U game lists to prepare (please).

(What I have owned in the past: Nintendoland, Batman, AC3 (how does AC4 compare?), Pikmin 3, Sonic AllStars, New Super Mario and Donkey Kong are the most memorable).

I've never played Mass Effect 3 or Deus Ex - worth the experience?

Actually feels okay to be picking up a Wii U at this point *Looking at Splatoon, Smash and MK8 for that online experience*

Oh, and any newer N64 games on the VC?

Edit: Just remembered the U is backward compatible to the Wii...! Can anyone remember, wasn't the full Resident Evil series remade onto the Wii? Also what were those Wii-mastered remakes (I remember Pikmin and Pikmin 2 being 2 of them).

Sorry for being a lazy arse.

    • Splatoon
    • Yoshi's Woolly World
    • NFS: Most Wanted
    • Lego City Undercover
    • Rayman Legends
    • Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
    • Splinter Cell : Blacklist
    • ZombiU
    • Mario Kart 8
    • Darksiders II
    • Scribblenauts Unlimited
    • Assassin's Creed IV
    • Smash Bros. Wii U
    • Injustice
    • Resident Evil: Revelations
    • Hyrule Warriors
    • The Wonderful 101
    • SM3DW

Yes Mass Effect 3 and Deus Ex are definitely worth the experience.

Not the full series was ported onto the Wii. There was as far as I remember, REmake, RE 0 and RE 4.

Mario Tennis was also turned into a New Play Control game but avoid it because the controls were gimped to accommodate the Wii remote. If they'd tried harder and had Wii remote plus at the time it could have been better.

Metroid Prime Trilogy would be a New Play Control game.

There's loads of great Wii games to pick up. If you want recommendations, just ask.

  17. We have an early contender for the "most stupid comment of the month" award.

NINTENDO EXPLAINS WHY THEY DON'T RELEASE GAMES IN THE SUMMER

Coming from an NWR interview with Charlie Scibetta, Nintendo's Senior Director of Corporate Communications...

"We do the bulk of our business in the holiday season, probably about 60% in October, November, and December. You want to launch games when people are in the mood to buy."
