  1. Wii U General Discussion

That's true. It sold 3.5 million until March when Nintendo's financial year ended, roughly four months. So in a time period since, that was 7 times longer they only managed to sell slightly less than 2 times that amount more.
  2. Wii U General Discussion

http://mynintendonews.com/2015/06/22/reggie-talks-about-why-he-thinks-the-wii-u-didnt-do-so-well-at-first/ You have momentum? Has the Wii U passed 10 million yet? It's obvious great games were needed. I said launching with NintendoLand and NSMBU was lazy and not a good idea. They killed the Wii off in its last couple of years and this was what they came up with in that time. Who's surprised? Reggie needs to stop talking. Ubisoft did a better job at selling the Wii U's capabilities(ZombiU) than Nintendo and they had less time than Nintendo.

  5. Yoshi's Woolly World (June 26th)

It's a right mixed bag so far. Nothing shocks me with Gamespot review scores anymore. I think difficulty and lack of checkpoints are common complaints. I welcome a difficult game.
  6. Last week it was COD, this week it's Zelda. Anyone care to suggest a game for discussion next week in the Nintendo NX - New Hardware Codename thread?

  11. UK sales charts for this week. Individual Formats All Formats Splatoon continues to do well.
  12. Splatoon

I don't know, I should be seen. I can see ye.
  13. Wii U General Discussion

I told you that a Mario Strikers game wouldn't happen. That's what that Sonic & Mario mini game is for. They've taken the easy option again using a 3DS game as a basis for a lazy effort of another Mario Tennis. For me, I'm still waiting on a Zelda, Metroid, Paper Mario and a real Mario game. 3 of which most likely won't happen. Who knows where Zelda will end up. If the NX version is the definitive game it could be all 4. I got not a single sports game I wanted this gen. It's hugely lacking in comparison to the Wii. Only MK8 has been truly better than last gen. Sure there's Pikmin 3 but that had no Wii competitor. Sorry if something's slipped my mind.
  14. Splatoon

I was on playing but there was a fella on called JJ on my team. He was terrible, I thought I was doing well, 8 kills, 2 deaths, painting the town red but he dragged us down with his score and play so I left in anger.
  15. Star Fox Zero

Ah yes, Captain Scarlet. He should be scarlet, also brutal.
  16. Star Fox Zero

I hate Thunderbirds. Awful $h1t on TV growing up. What was that other string puppet muck that was on? Stinkray!!!
  17. Wii U eShop Thread

Operation AxiomMergeTroid anyone?http://www.destructoid.com/axiom-verge-probably-coming-to-wii-u-in-2016-294521.phtml That's great news if it happens. I wish Nintendo would make a new 2D Metroid game and put it on the Wii U.
  18. NINTENDO @ E3: Let the Hype juices flow

He probably thought of that when looking at Starfox.
  19. Splatoon

Good about the weapons(33 unreleased), not cool about the lack of stages(10 in total with just 2 remaining to be unlocked). I seriously hope more stages are coming as free DLC. Also hope for more modes.
  20. Star Fox Zero

If Starfox is an hour and a half long, I ain't buying it especially as it looks now. Definitely needs online multiplayer to give it some value.
  21. NINTENDO @ E3: Let the Hype juices flow

I suppose they're good at the disappearing trick. :p
  22. NINTENDO @ E3: Let the Hype juices flow

What is "the magic that happens with amiibo?"
  23. NINTENDO @ E3: Let the Hype juices flow

I'm glad you saved me the effort. From about 6:30-7:30 was a personal highlight.
  24. Star Fox Zero

I think the graphics will be improved before release. I'd certainly hope so. They may also have to be downgraded because of the 2 separate views. But yes it does look barren and it's a bit uninspired in terms of gameplay. Oh and I just have the feeling that it's going to be a short game.
  25. Star Fox Zero

Miyamoto Says Star Fox Zero’s Art Style Serves A Purpose And A Lot Of Games Look The Same We’ve all now got a good look at Star Fox Zero for the Wii U, the brain child of Shigeru Miyamoto in collaboration with Platinum Games. What do you think of the game art style? Because Miyamoto said that the visual style and the gameplay is the main point of the game, and was made of a cartoony nature on purpose. As most games now strive to look super realistic, he thinks they’re all starting to look the same, and presumably wanted Star Fox Zero to stand out that way. Question is, does it stand out for the right reasons or look weaker, as the article suggests? In a press event Sunday, Miyamoto said that the point of Star Fox Zero is the gameplay and the visual style of the game, which is somewhat cartoony. It was made that way with a purpose. “A lot of games nowadays look so realistic that they all look the same,” Miyamoto said. The famed designer is right–many casual gamers might have trouble telling the difference between a “Call of Duty” and “Battlefield” game. But Nintendo’s strategy also reflects that the Wii U has far less graphical horsepower than rival home consoles. http://mynintendonews.com/2015/06/21/miyamoto-says-star-fox-zeros-art-style-serves-a-purpose-and-a-lot-of-games-look-the-same/ http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2015/06/16/nintendo-at-e3-2015-star-fox-returns-but-silence-on-wii-u-zelda-and-nx/
