  4. Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash Discussion - E3 Thoughts & Impressions (Wii U) Sounds awful. If GameXplain don't like it then it must be bad. They've less than 6 months to fix it but I expect what I thought when I first seen it. Cheap, lazy filler to plug a hole in the Wii U calendar.
  5. Splatoon

I don't know about it. I think it's to do with the Super Sea Snails. Which you can also earn during Splatfests. I'm on level 19 so I haven't been able to try out what Spyke has to offer.
  6. Let's talk about this place.

I did a Google search for BillyBobJimBob and the first image that popped up? Maybe they did use a different computer or ip address but I'm sure @Shorty could put a block on their ip address or is it possible to see who uses the same ip address?
  7. Nintendo have to first change their own attitude about certain aspects before they can hope to win over parts of the market.
  8. It stems from Miyamoto saying a new controller interface was needed for an F-Zero to happen. The Wii U has every possible interface except it's missing analogue triggers.
  9. Super Mario Maker

I think it's possible but it would require so much more work. How would you do side quests? How would you do bosses? Would it be 2D or 3D? If you say 3D, forget about it. 3D Mario Kart Maker would be possible. 2D Mario Kart Maker, I wouldn't mind but with up to date graphics. I love SNES MK but Super Circuit graphics were hideous.
  10. Super Mario Maker

http://mynintendonews.com/2015/06/28/nintendo-says-it-would-be-difficult-to-develop-a-zelda-maker-game/ You can't say I haven't told you this several times in the past. Mario is more suited, Zelda isn't and would cause problems.
  11. It has to be at least as powerful as the PS4 or it's finished before it even begins.
  12. I know and agree that talk is cheap. It'll be some time before 3rd parties talk officially though. Nintendo won't talk and they won't want them taking either.
  13. http://nintendoeverything.com/rumor-nintendo-started-talking-with-third-parties-about-nx-at-e3-positive-reception/ This is what I was saying about using Splatoon as a beacon of positivity to help with third party relations at E3.

  16. Wii U VC

Star Fox Command and Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time are coming to the Wii U Virtual Console. They're both DS games. Don't know anything about SFC personally, only that I've heard bad things. Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time, however, I do know about as I've played it and it's a fantastic game. It's a definite must buy if you've never experienced it.

  18. Let's try this again, shall we? :p This is a thread to discuss general annoyances about amiibo. Be it paywalled on disc content, overpricing, scalpers, shortages, order limits, etc. I think everybody knows I don't like amiibo. And if I did like them, I may have an even bigger problem with them because they seem so hard to buy. My biggest problem with them is the paywalled on disc content. I don't agree with it and I don't like that they're getting an increasing role within games and where they'll eventually lead. I don't see amiibo doing anything in game that couldn't be done without them. The only thing they can do is transfer save data from one Wii U to another. But there are other ways around that. They also have very limited memory which can be a problem if you want to use them on multiple games. To those that say the content wouldn't exist without amiibo, that simply isn't true. There's been countless examples of content(e.g. cheat codes) that could have been locked to amiibo in previous generations had they been around. We only need look at Bayonetta 2. That game has Samus, Link, Peach, Daisy and Fox costumes. They exist and yet are not locked to amiibo. Or todays example. The unlockable Yoshi skins based on the Smash Bros. amiibo was said wouldn't exist without amiibo. There's no reason why they couldn't. The other alternatives exist within the game and they've no amiibo. If I've paid for a game, I should be entitled to all the content on the disc. I don't get a discount for not having access to that content. People can say they're collectibles with the added benefit of some extra content within games. I don't see them like that. Nearly every game now seems to be getting their own amiibo collection. Then there's other problems, like what if you want the content but not the amiibo clogging up your space? Where's the alternative methods of buying said content? Or what if you want the content and can't buy the amiibo which is a real problem? I will say to their credit, the production of the amiibo now compared to launch are vastly superior in quality. I wouldn't mind amiibo if they were kept away from games. Have them as collectibles, fine, no problem. But when they start impinging on my hobby and telling me there's content right in front of you but you can't have it unless you buy a key. No thanks. There's other problems but they're more for those of you that do collect the amiibo.
  19. Are all your amiibos looking well? I was in Smyths today and the new waves are of a much, much higher quality. But I noticed the painting on some of the figures is far from perfect. I noticed the row of gold spots on Ganondorf's shoulders on a few figures were badly done. Dark Pit had paint spilling past where it should stop. And it wasn't just them. Zero Suit Samus as well. I noticed defects on quite a few amiibo. Are ye happy with what's delivered? If I see that in one shop, ye must be seeing it too? I know it's intricate painting but blemishes like that would bother me. They do look nice though and even better when perfect. Not a Yarn Yoshi was in sight in any shop.
  20. Yoshi's Woolly World (June 26th)

Gamestop is riddled with copies of FIFA13 and Mass Effect 3 for €40 each going nowhere fast. Argos have both titles for €5.50 and €8 respectively. HMV have no copies of any good popular 1st party titles. Just MK8 for €55 secondhand and other titles like Black Ops II. Both shops Wii U sections are pitiful. Smyths was so much better. They had the Wii U setup with MK8 and 2 Wii remotes a good choice of games. They had Splatoon and Yoshi's Woolly World. HMV had neither. The new 3DS playing Smash Bros. And yes I agree the 3D is so much better. They had a proper amiibo section with a good few to choose from. While the new amiibo look miles better, I have something to say about them but I'll save that for the grievances thread.
  21. Yoshi's Woolly World (June 26th)

Just got back from Dublin city centre with my Yoshi&amiibo bundle. I'll make a start on it later, wrecked trawling the shops. Not a bargain anywhere. There's little left for me to buy on Wii U. HMV, hurry up and die...again. Nunchuks, €40. Secondhand copies of MK8, €55. Gamestop, equally appalling prices.
  22. Wii U and 3DS Gaming Bargains

Metroid: Other M is a great game. Not perfect but a very good first attempt at that style. I won't have anybody knocking it. If you don't own it, get yourself checked out. And if you don't own it and buy it for £4, get yourself certified.
  23. Wii U General Discussion

I think it's going to be a clean slate. That's why I think the DS name could be dropped. So there's no confusion and to help reinforce than the 2 devices are interconnected and share common features they'll have names like e.g. NX Home and NX Portable.
  24. More Nickelodeon ads so I presume. Why does Nintendo have a kiddy image again?
  25. Splatoon

The Kraken was way too powerful. At least you can repel the Bubbler.
