Bowser's first board meeting as vice-president of sales.
  2. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. failed to make the top 20 on its debut and according to Famitsu it sold 1,835 copies in Japan. That's a complete and utter failure. There are games more than 6 months old that scrape into the charts with better sales.

Nintendo of America Hires Bowser as New VP of Sales - Press release Nintendo of America Hires Bowser as New VP of Sales Doug Bowser Brings Decades of Experience, Not Fire Breath, to New Role REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Nintendo of America has hired a new Vice President to lead the United States sales organization with a name that’s well-known in the Mushroom Kingdom. Effective today, Doug Bowser (no relation to the King Koopa and Mario’s longtime nemesis) will oversee a variety of sales-related functions, including Sales, In-store Merchandising, Retail Strategy and Retail Marketing. He will play a key role in driving national sales strategies to generate demand and achieve revenue objectives across all of Nintendo’s product lines. Bowser also will manage Nintendo’s key retail customer relationships and will oversee retail marketing for the Nintendo World store in New York. Nintendo of America has hired Doug Bowser to oversee a variety of sales-related functions, including Sales, In-store Merchandising, Retail Strategy and Retail Marketing. Bowser will report to Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Doug Bowser is an outstanding addition to our Nintendo team, as he brings a deep blend of both consumer package goods and video game sales experience,” said Moffitt. “I know he will work tirelessly with our internal and external partners to ensure the broad Nintendo product lineup of hardware, software and accessories are strongly represented throughout U.S. retail points of distribution.” Bowser comes to Nintendo from Electronic Arts, where he has worked since 2007, most recently as Vice President of Global Business Planning, a role that made him responsible for EA’s console, PC and mobile game forecasting. Prior to EA, he worked at Procter & Gamble in various sales leadership roles in Asia, Latin America and the U.S. He attended the University of Utah, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. He came from EA. Makes sense he has a bad name so. :p
  4. Wii U and 3DS Gaming Bargains

The link doesn't work. The site's working alright though. With the £5 discount it puts Splatoon back at £22.95. The discount is only good for today so act fast if you want it. http://www.rakuten.co.uk/shop/thegamecollection/product/13996/?l-id=gb_search_product_thumbnail_3 It seems all links are down at the minute.

Xenoblade Chronicles X has broken the 100,000 barrier after 3 weeks. Expected so much better. Nintendo must be disappointed by that. And Monolith Soft, all that effort for so little reward. I hope we in the West show the game more respect.
  6. amiibo (NFC)

I didn't mean you wouldn't get them ever. I meant you wouldn't get whatever's being released that day. That should have been obvious. I'm not referring to you as you weren't the troll calling me a liar and nitpicking everything I write.

  8. Eurovision Song Contest 2015

I know nothing about this years Eurovision but heard while listening to a football show last night that David De Gea's girlfriend is representing Spain.

And as others have said, they probably only lasted 40 minutes because they caught everybody unawares.

  11. amiibo (NFC)

Well in fairness if you don't get them on the day of release you won't get them at all(unless you want to get fleeced on Ebay). Skylanders and Infinity figures as far as I see don't have this problem. They're wall to wall and in some shops take up more space than games. It may be in part that Nintendo are releasing them in rations to keep demand up but I'd be more inclined to think that with the way Nintendo's profits or lack of more accurately have been for the past few years that they didn't want surplus stock on shelves wasting money.
  12. Wii U eShop Thread

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/05/exclusive_eshop_publishers_are_dropping_releases_in_germany_due_to_low_sales_and_cost_of_usk_rating This is not the first time I've heard that getting a game rated in Europe is a nightmare and expensive. And I may be wrong but I think you've to pay every time you resubmit your game.
  13. amiibo (NFC)

Nintendo will announce it 30 minutes before they go on sale. But seriously, it's July 17th. https://www.pixeldynamo.com/news/gaming/2015/05/13/63831/nintendo-europe-announces-next-amiibo-wave-release-dates/
  14. Football Season 2014/2015

Courtois. Get rid of Sterling now. You don't want players like that around the club. Sure he's got potential but who knows if it'll be realised. Speed is his biggest asset, if he were to lose that through an injury he'd be greatly diminished. His passing isn't great and his shooting is atrocious. He's a greedy little f*ck. He's already lost £1 million by not signing the new contract and if he stays another season he'll lose another £4 million. Well that what was said on the radio yesterday. Most players while they may kiss the badge have no loyalty, only to themselves and are mercenaries.
  15. Hyrule Warriors

In Legend Mode, is the lower path, the one that starts with Cia, is it meant to be harder? The game really throws you in at the deep end. It took a long while to figure things out like defending bases or defending certain characters within the battlefield. I'm still figuring things out. Should I finish the upper path before doing the baddies. I presume that's what that's all about, their side of the story? I play an hour here or there every second night. Any advice I should know about? I've made a few badges for each character. Should I be using the Smithy?

  17. Yoshi's Woolly World (June 26th)

It depends. If I really enjoy the game then I'll 100% it. If it's too hard, tedious or just not worth the effort I'll leave it. I 100% more often than not.

  19. Splatoon

Here's an explanation of all the gear ability symbols. Just looking round the internet to see if any site or publication has broken the review embargo. Unfortunately not. I did come across this though: http://metro.co.uk/2015/05/14/games-inbox-splatoon-review-conundrum-assassins-creed-siblings-and-alien-isolation-2-5198186/ I think some reviews are going to take this stance and "simply review what’s there." They're not going to come back in a few months time and say, "Oh remember that game Splatoon? We'll here's our review score." They'll have moved on to the big games of the moment. And some consumers may be doing likewise. Found this too. It made me laugh.
  20. Yoshi's Woolly World (June 26th)

I want 2 things from this game. I want it to be challenging and I want it to be long. Too many of Nintendo's games recently appear to be quite short. @Kaepora_Gaebora I'd like to know how long it is. I realise it's probably to early to know that yet. But if you do know can you tell us if you're allowed or PM me please?
  21. Mario Kart League 2015

Very good, excellent choices. I hadn't noticed but they do. I would only say Sherbet Land may have been slightly more appropriate than Ice Ice Post but that may just be me.

  23. Mario Kart League 2015

Horrendous. The theme, not the title. Did I even need to guess who's idea this was? I know, I know, before you reply. :p
