  1. Life On Mars?

I dont get that why the martian sky on NASA photo's is a redy/pinky colour, yet on European space agency photo's the sky is blue. So what colour is it?
  2. Not posted here for awhile, but here goes. I own a Wii and a 360 and at the moment theyre both getting about the same play time, i think theyre both great consoles in their own right. I like the first party Nintendo games, so when they come out the Wii gets the play time, it gets the playtime when some 3rd party games that i like come out too. My Wii also gets its uses from my family/friends, be it while playing on wii sports or mario strikers. My 360 has been a dust gatherer up untill recently, as the games that keep coming out dont interest me, im not a fan of beat em ups, button mashers, Racing games, Turn Based games, FPS or any game where the developers look like theyve put more work into the FMV sequences rather then the actual game. At the moment im playing Mass Effect on the 360, im playing through it the second time right now. I must say that i enjoy/ed it, but i thought for a game of its scope it was way to short, id rather the game make you do all these side-quests just so that it pads out the game more, as i dont really like replaying a game once I've completed it. But for the 360 there are some games coming out for it pretty soon that i will purchase, i dont want it to become a dust gatherer again, because it is a good console. I like my online modes in games, which the Wii does lack if we're honest, although i do play the odd game of mario strikers over it. The LIVE service for the 360 is great, however, I got fed up of all the morons that use it, so i am currently only a silver member, which is a shame but i just couldnt take any more of the complete childish behavior of around 90% of my Xbox LIVE encounters. Also (and i know that this wont apply to everyone) i built myself a new PC a few months ago, so for the FPS games that i want i buy them for my PC rather then for my 360, as console FPS's are way to clunky (i couldnt think of a better word) for my tastes. The thing is though that these arguements will never be settled because we all have different views and opinions on the games we like. I am just happy that i own a Wii and a 360 so i can pick and choose the games that i want.
  3. Heroes Season 2 *Spoilers*

Going slightly off-topic. I love the show and im a little confused over this writers strike issue. All i want to know is will this be the end of heroes, or will the season/series carry on once they get back to work?
  4. Sonic & Mario....Start of a franchise?

Would either company need this new franchise? Mario games still sell well as do Sonic games. Personally i would prefer a new Mario game over a joint venture.
  5. I want them to include a metroid in the game. I just want it to latch on to some ones head and drain their life. It would be hours of fun watching people run around with a metroid stuck to their heads
  6. Ive recently tried to get my xbox 360 adapter working (so i can use my 360 controller on my PC), but i cant get the controller to sync with it. Im using windows vista, as soon as i plug the adapter in it knows what it is and installs the drivers, but ive also tried installing some drivers that i found on the net (the reponse was "you already have this driver installed). Ive tried it in USB (1) and USB2 slots aswell, just to check, but still i cant get the damn controller the sync with the adapter. Just on a side note, i bought the adapter while i was in the states, surely the signal isnt different for UK and US controllers?
  7. xbox 360 pc wireless adapter

Is that deffinetly the cause of the problem. It just seems odd to me that microsoft would use a different frequency per region for their controllers. Cause if it all possibly id rather not spend £20 buying another one But if i have to i will.
  8. Your websites

adds piss me off, and other people, if i want to get a user base (unlikly but still) then ill leave them off until the site gets a larger userbase, you wont make anything if you site only gets a hundred or so hits a month.
  9. Your websites

I have a few websites up, two clan ones and three or four other projects im working on. I own d-pad.net, nothing is up on it yet, im trying to figure out what to do with it to be honest, im thinking about having it pull console/pc gaming news from other sites via their RSS feeds (as there is only me who is developing it), but im not exactly sure if thats legal or not, i need to do some research.
  10. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Just started playing this game, im near the end of the first (or second depending on how you look at it) planet and im loving it, great game and im sure better is to follow the more i play. Im still dont get what the friend code is for in this game, but ill look it up and see what it does later, or some one could just pm me and save me the hastle
  11. Post Your Metroid Moments

I have two favourite Metroid Moments. 1) The Super Metroid Starting, makes me want to play the game every time i see it. 2) First encounter with Kraid in Super Metroid. I played the orginal Metroid on my NES, but it was Super Metroid that got me hooked on the franchise.
  12. The first nintendo game i played was Super Mario Land for the GameBoy. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was the first NES game i played, ah the memories.
  13. N64 analog stick

I dont think their is a way of visualy telling if you have a new version or old version analogue stick. If memory serves correct it wasnt a major problem, if i remember right after a lot of use the analogue stick produced something that looked like white powder around the analogue stick. The white powder being VERY fine plastic fibres that have come off the analogue stick during gameplay. I got 2 pads with my N64 when it launched and i had the above problem, if you can cause it a problem, it never hampered any gameplay and the white powder itself could be wiped away. So in short, i wouldnt let it bother you, just carry on playing on your N64.
  14. Yawn

I've been looking for a new PC game that suits my tastes for a very long time. When im looking for a game i look for a game that has a good online multiplayer mode, that way i can enjoy the game for a much longer period of time. I'm fed up of seeing all these uncreative games on the market, which are the same for the most part, i want something thats different and not just a rip off of another game. Now for the bit for you all to quote me on. If i own COD (which i do) what insentive is their for me to buy COD2 or COD3 (when its out)? Graphics aside, the game will play like its predecessor's but itll look prettier. Crysis will be the benchmarking game for the latest GPU's and again, it looks pretty but whats different about it compared to other FPS's? I just think that most of the industry has gone stale and we're going to be subjected to the same regurgitated ideas time after time.
  15. Shadowrun

I played the demo on my 360 and enjoyed it, although i would have preffered to use a good ol' keyboard and mouse setup, is a PC demo out yet, ive looked and didnt find one. Ill probably pick this up for my PC when i get an xbox live membership, i currently dont have one cause the 360 doesnt have a game i want to play online, yet.
  16. Football Season 2007/2008

Is their any one left who thinks that our chairman is actualy doing a good job? He's turned away investors, wont let any one onto the board who wants to play an active role in the club, continualy lies (whats gone off with the so called takeover?) and is constantly bickering with Wednesdayite because they wont give him thier 10% of shares. He is a very petty man which the club needs rid of befor we can properly move forward. Anyway, back to Macca. Apparently Rangers would get £50,000 if we signed him and reports also say that his agent wanted a "sizeable fee". Macca is good for around 20 goals per season (maybe more), so id like to see if we can find another player that can perform that well that doesnt cost millions. On a side note we are reportedly looking at signing Kenwyne Jones, apparently he is up for grabs as part of a cost-cutting exercise at Southampton. I'd like to see Kenwyne come to us, especialy now that we dont have macca.
  17. VGA splitters.

I came to the conclusion that swapping the cables every once in awhile isnt life threatening. Unless i accidently wrap one around my neck, fall over and the cord gets stuck on a door handle and i strangle myself to death.... Im scared.
  18. VGA splitters.

I'm having the same trouble. My Wii is connected via component and my PC is connected via VGA, so at the moment my 360 isnt plugged in. I thought a fix for this would be to hook my PC up via HDMI (DVI to HDMI) but that didnt work as i suffered from overscan, and nvidia dont support underscanning, yet, or so I've read. Ive seen a component switch, but it looks cheap so i suspect that the quality of it wont be all that good. Would a KVM switch do the trick? Failing that ill buy a VGA cable for my 360 and just switch between my PC and 360, it will be a hell of a lot easier then swapping all those component leads.
  19. You do know that theyre making a remake of speedball 2 aswell? For the PC atm, will include online leagues and stuff, worth keeping an eye on for any speedball fan :awesome:
  20. Football Season 2006/2007

Well with me being a shef wed supporter and working in Leeds it was pretty good I doubt theyll come straight back up though, with all thats going on behind closed doors. Ken Bates will probably end up selling the club befor the season starts i think.
  21. Football Season 2006/2007

It was completely in SUFC's hands to stop in the premiership, they blew. I think all that SU are after is a little compensation payment, which i think theyll get. Also on a different matter (kinda old). Can someone please explain to me why Leeds got 10 points deducted this season instead of next? They were already down so it wasnt realy a penalty and when Rotherham did this the -10 points got carried over to the next season.
  22. Sony Laptop

How about: http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Toshiba_Satellite_P100_Laptop_PSPAAE-01D00UEN/version.asp The only problem with that laptop is the GPU, so you wont be able to play top end games on it. And if you can get the VAT off it'll be a complete bargain. This one even has a 17" screen.
  23. Mac vs Windows

Just a quick question from me. A while back microsoft got dragged through the court system for including WMP with their OS (they were told that they were monopolising), whats the difference between what MS did and what Apple are doing including all the "i" programs?
  24. Football Season 2006/2007

If you go to watch your team play at a stadium on a regular basis then you are a supporter. If you only see them play a few times per season, not at all or only on TV then you are a fan. Thats the way i've seen it for ages and it makes sence.
  25. Football Season 2006/2007

There was never any wealthy investors, Dave Allen said that he will be unable to sell the club without WEDNESDAYITES 10% shares which they wont give back/sell to him, and rightly so, those shares belong to the fans. The club cannot be sold, any investor wanting to buy the club will need the majority of shares, but the shares in wednesday are that scattered out that this isnt possible. The only way it can be sold is if Dave Allen decides he wants out, but this causes another problem, because he wants all the money that he's put into the club back. He also wont allow in any investors or anyone else to join the board as to keep his control over the club. And as for the Paul Sturrock saga it was a complete disgrace. The two of them obviously had an arguement and so Dave Allen spat out his dummy and sacked him, a manager that all the fans backed. Prior to his sacking we had lost quite a few games, but as sturrock explained (and we all knew anyway) we had half of our team out, then when Brian Laws took over and Pauls team started coming back we started to win again, just as Paul Sturrock said we would. I've lost count of the ammount of managers we've gone through, but surely people must realise that it must be the board at fault and not the management.
