Ta, I can pull it off relatively consistently, but the stars never aligned whenever I chose a Star Fox character tonight.
-
Iron Treads is thankfully a 5 star raid, so just seeing the credits was good enough. And I already have a competitive Chesnaught, so I'm not fussed about that raid. Larry is the one Gym Leader I remember, such a fun take having one person doing it purely because he needs a living. I did a little cheer when it was revealed he was one of the Elite Four. And instead of using the most common, boring, type, he used... the second most common, boring type. Seriously, how strapped for cash is he, that he needs 3 jobs?

Hey, we really wanted to get one Smash taunt! Pressing that down taunt in less then 2 frames is really difficult!
-
Yup, amazingly on brand for the theme, but after watching a certain video I posted in another thread. I've realised that Falco shows up in Starlink as well, albeit only on the racing segment. So Falco is also allowed tonight. Yes, the sheer absurdity of me getting it wrong on a theme all about me getting it wrong has not gone over my head, now excuse me while I apply said head on to a desk. EDIT: New page, reposting the characters. Costume Restrictions Mario - Wedding outfit only Link, Young Link, and Toon Link - Dark Link costume only Hero - DQ8 styles only The costumes are pictured above, so you should know which ones I'm on about.

Oh, now this is interesting. A 2 year in the making video from DidYouKnowGaming looking into that notorious Star Fox Grand Prix rumour.

I feel like I should point out that despite my gripes with Square's efforts to distance the series from it's roots, this game in particular, standing on it's own merits, does look really good. Honestly, it's the first game PS5 has flaunted that I actually would want to play. Every trailer has made me want it more. And the demo isn't helping matters. Bringing in Platinum to help out only bolsters my confidence that I need to try this game. ...Eventually. I generally have a rule that no one game is good enough to warrant an entire console purchase, especially one as pricey as the PS5. And it is a Square title, I expect to at least come to the PC in the future, so I can wait. I hope you enjoy it as much as the demo, because Square might have finally nailed the action Final Fantasy genre here, and that's quite the occasion.

It's 22 characters long (including spaces), so yeah. Make of that what you will.
-
Ah right, I get what you mean now. As to the whole blank slate thing, I don't really buy that X was the last one. When XIII came out, it was a stand-alone title. You could play just the first game, and it would be a complete story. Of course, now? Different matter, but in that case, then I'd say it was IX that offers a complete stand-alone plot, not X.

I mean, to be fair, previous FF experience won't really help one iota here, would it?
-
Welp, caught an Iron Treads anyway, so I'm good now. Guess I needed to see the credits first.

Right, theme time. Bit of a lengthy title for this one. It's called... Geez, Glen, Do You Even Know Anything!? All 3 Mii Fighters are also allowed tonight. Inspired by the "I can't believe I overlooked the Wedding Mario amiibo" fiasco a couple of months ago, this theme acknowledges the various times I've had to be corrected on a theme. I've gone back through every theme I've done since the Sora new character night and found every character that I forgot about. Some more embarassing then others. I don't know why I'm doing this, but here are the reasons for each character. There are costume restrictions in place. Mario - Wedding outfit only Link, Young Link and Toon Link - Dark Link costumes only Hero - DQ8 versions only The specific costumes are in the picture above, so you shouldn't have problems knowing which ones I'm talking about. Stages and items match the series the characters are from. I wanted to have the stages be ones I forgot about once, but that would only leave us with 4 stages, so decided against it. Format - Stock, 5 minutes (Once forgot to tell people the shortened time limit on a theme night) FS Meter - On See you at 8!

OK yeah, fine. I just found it strange, because that didn't happen in Sword/Shield. Anyway, despite having way OP Pokémon, I did actually fail the Pokémon League twice, the first was because I couldn't remember most of the Gym Leaders (Months of dropping the game will do that), and the second time? Literally me in the middle of that clip!
-
So I've finally gotten around to finishing this game, now that I can just sic my Lv 100 Speedy Groudon on everything, just about to go to Area Zero. Anyway, I was hoping a Violet player could help me out by starting a raid with that Iron Treads, and letting me jump in on it. That event ends tomorrow, and I don't want to miss out on it. EDIT: Oh right, weird quirk with my transferred Pokémon, they retained all the friendship bonuses from previous games. Even the Greninja (That Protean nerf really sucks... Poor frog can't catch a break) from my 3DS, that's not the usual, but hey, it meant they never disobeyed me, even without all the Gym Badges. Wonder if HOME did that somehow?

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Japanese app gets Binding Blade as well. -
Oh right. I see how it is. Shift the blame, eh? Just a heads up, but there's a possibility that I won't be able to play Mario Kart for the next two weeks, so you might have to host.
-
You're damn right!
-
Player's Choice tonight at 8pm.

What does it say about me that I watched @Julius's tweet and thought "Well, that's just wrong. Ifrit could never one shot Phoenix like that!"?
-
So you're firmly in the "Sora"s getting an amiibo" camp then? Can"t say I share your enthusiasm.
-
Yup. Visually, and audibly, it's such a vast improvement, that the in-game feature to seamlessly swap between retro and modern graphics, while very cool, feels unnecessary, because I would never want to stay in the retro style for long. It's the kind of remake where I feel it's "perfect", not as in, it's suddenly the greatest game ever made, but there is no real reason to play the older version if you own this one. You should try it, I feel it retains the gameplay feel of the original game, the only real difference is that they added some difficulty options, and the original difficulty is still there, it's just the hardest difficulty now.
-
Oh right, almost forgot to post mine. Slightly better angle of one of @BowserBasher's It's alright though, I beat him in Big Blue purely because of slightly better acceleration, so it balances out.

I laughed. You can just hear him saying "Golly!"

Stamina matches tonight at 8pm.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe Hey, look, it's this game again. Releasing this year, this is an enhanced port of the Wii title, Kirby's Return to Dream Land. The main selling point that wasn't in the Wii version is a certain extra mode called "Magolor Epilogue". Also, Dedede has his Forgotten Land look for some reason, and it still bothers me. Despite this being a port of an old game, there are various developments that weren't in the original Wii release, so there are spoilers abound in this post, even if you've played the Wii game. All of this stuff happens after the credits, so you've been warned.
