Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Online Meet Up Thread
Glen-i replied to Sprout's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm online now. @Blade, you in? Wait, do you even have my Friend Code? @RedShell? ANYONE!? -
Hylian Circuit, you dropped a bomb right on me when I got hit by one as you overtook. In the next race, I did the same thing. Oh well, I'm off to play Smash online, hopefully someone joins me.
-
If ever there was a night to prove that the blue shell was needed... The winner was decided after the first couple of items. Not a fan of that theme night. Hilarious as it was. Also, @Emerald Emblem, you are an opportunistic git and I was never so happy to drop a bomb in your face in the next race. Well done!
-
Yeah, that kind of attitude is not going to help. How are you supposed to pass anyone if you don't even try? 1 hit is better than none.
-
Just letting people know that I plan on playing some online Smash tonight after the Mario Kart League (So, around 9-ish). I believe @Blade might be joining in, but just covering my bases so I'm not left just waiting for half an hour with no-one showing up.

The VIP section is a bit of a rip in the grand scheme of things. The only benefit it really offers is being able to skip conversations with other Mii's and extra plaza tickets through Streetpass birthdays. Guarantee you can't get all the hats, outfits and speech bubbles without it though. The speech bubbles are really nice though, adds a little more personality to each encounter.
-
I bought it for the extra plaza tickets... I need those extra hats, damnit! You put Garden away? YOU PUT GARDEN AWAY!? I know for a fact you haven't got all the plaza tickets in that yet! You are a sham of a gardener!
-
I don't know... He frequents this topic an awful lot... It's OK Wii, no-one will judge you just because you bought a few.

It seems Nintendo are working on a patch to fix that glitch that hit @Sprout recently. It appears to happen when you finish 10-man smash with every character including Mewtwo. My guess is that the game thinks you're cheating because you have a higher score than you'd get without Mewtwo. Strangely enough, I did exactly this on the 3DS version, and I was perfectly fine. So it seems to only affect the WiiU version. Until then, just to be safe, I recommend not playing Classic, All-Star, Any of the stadium minigames or Trophy Rush with Mewtwo until it's out. Normal Smash, Smash Tour and Online Smashes are perfectly OK to play though. Anyway, I've sent a couple of stages to some people on here. Some of you should know which ones.

Realism!? In Smash discussion? You're clearly in the wrong thread then. Good day!
-
Well played... To be fair though, I've never played that game. So DK 64 is Rare's worst offering that I've played. It's still bad.
-
Maybe they have. But then again, maybe they haven't! And that's exactly why I will vote. Why do you have to be so pessimistic!? Where's the Smash hype!?
-
Yes, that could be the case. There are plenty of songs in WiiU Smash that have nothing to do with the fighters. (*coughDilloncough*) I don't think anyone is saying Ryu being playable is guaranteed, we're just discussing the possibility. I really should vote soon...
-
Never really liked DK 64. It's so repetitive, some of the mini-games are just plain frustrating, controls are nowhere near as tight as Banjo-Tooie. Most of the game is just forgettable. The multiplayer was pretty decent, only because the sloppy controls made everyone useless and it causes a whole bunch of laughs. The final boss is also very memorable, but it's too much crap to go through just to see it. It's definitely Rare's worst N64 offering.

Ryu is, like, THE 2D fighter character. Saying he doesn't fit into Smash makes very little sense to me. Sure, there are many characters I'd rather have instead, but I am in no way bitter about it. Plus Capcom gave me Monster Hunter 4, so they're cool in my eyes.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Online Meet Up Thread

I'll be up for that. 9pm alright with you? Mario Kart League takes priority, you know? And for the record, I don't normally post much here because I don't have constant online access. And with Sprout temporarily (Hopefully) out of action, I stand to perform a lot better than usual! Plus, people need to see my Mii's snazzy new shirt, otherwise, what's the point? -
Ooooh! That reminds me. I definitely have to share that stage tomorrow. Because I'm a jerk.
-
@Dcubed's game pad works fine in almost every room in his house. Same for mine. Perhaps it's interference from a wireless signal or something? DCubed knows more about that then I do though.
-
Holy crap at that Ribbon Road! Spectacular! If one of the new bikes is inward drift, that's me happy. I am kinda miffed that F-Zero got another track. I kinda wanted another series get a track. I'm sure it will be great, but it's a bit of a missed opportunity.

That's worrying. I take it this was the WiiU version? Because I played every multi-man Smash mode on my 3DS and had no issues. It's a shame because he's really good at multi-man smash... You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse And my GSP is still the same... I'm really starting to think I might have the best 3DS 100-Man time... EDIT: Never mind, updated my GSP, it went slightly up.

Pretty sure "The Ugly" section is meant to be humourous, Ronnie. For what it's worth. I completely agree with Wii and that review. I watched DCubed play some of this, it's neat. But I got the distinct impression that single player requires the multitasking skill of an octopus to get through it. This was only further cemented when I jumped in and took over piloting duties. The game suddenly transformed into the ultra cheap adventures of the super budget space exploration duo! We would start discussing how to get past obstacles, and performing the most ridiculous manoeuvres. We couldn't stop laughing when DCubed turned off almost everything and I started worming the Crappy Ship across the ground to not be detected. (It worked) It's a fantastic co-op game, but if you're on your own. You might want to think really hard about buying this.
-
For someone who complains about the item balance, I find it strange you want to have two items at once back. I'm telling you, that's why 1st place always got away in previous games.
-
Bullet Bill duration depends on how many people you manage to pass while it's in effect. So if you're so far behind, you don't pass anyone, it'll last a long time.

Nintendo and Online Gaming. What's The Deal?
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I find it hilarious how some people don't realise that this is the point you're trying to make. I 100% agree with you. Amiibo or no, it's still content that is on-disc. Even if it's not very substantial, it's still bad practice.
