You ever considered the notion that you might not be the target audience then? I'm pretty sure the majority of sales will be people who didn't own a Wii/Didn't buy the game when it originally came out. You see, I disagree. I much prefer to have a game available digitally. I very rarely trade-in games. So having digital games makes a lot of sense to me. It's great being able to jump into games like Monster Hunter, Metroid Prime and NSMB 2 whenever I feel like it.

I remember in Lylat Wars multiplayer, we'd have one person on foot while the others are in Landmasters, Landmasters weren't allowed to shoot. First person to run over the on-foot player wins the round. Ultimate shame if you actually got beaten by the on-foot player. Had more fun with that than the actual game. I'm sure there's loads more we did, but I can't remember most of them...

What? It checks out. I didn't say that I've been playing since it was released, I meant that it was during that era that I got into games. And seeing as you're going Detective Shell on me, I want to clear something up. I have not been playing games since I was 2! I mean, pfft! That's just nuts! 1993, first game I played was Mario World which I still think is a masterpiece. So my irritation at Mario Kart is not a case of me getting old. Oh, and just to reiterate. I still think they are good games, but their early installment weirdness mean that I prefer most of the later installments.

Well, all I can say is "Buy the disc version then if you can get it cheaper" I, however believe that S&P 2 has a perfectly OK price. The game is brilliant and deserves it.

Yes, I did. Played it to death. I've been gaming since the Super Nintendo/Game Boy. But I went back to it about a year ago, and I just got plain frustrated with the insane amount of cheating the CPU's do. Spinning out when you have no coins and crash into someone. And of course, they always have a feather right when they need it. It's an exercise in frustration.

If it was in London, I might be able to go. Depending on the date of course.

Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 always feel a bit overrated in my opinion. Super Mario Kart is just not very fun and Mario Kart 64 has some of the most bizarre controls I've seen in this series. And if you thought getting hit by a blue shell in 8 is bad, you should try getting hit by a red shell in 64. That stops you for so long, it's a wonder people didn't clamour for it to be banned! They are not bad games, but compared to later installments, they definitely show their age.

No, you're right. It is the first to not have arenas. Unless you count the 2 arcade games. I've never been a big fan of Battle mode, but even I have to admit 8's is incredibly lazy.

I'm buying it partly for the convenience of disc-free, partly for faster loading times and partly to support the game because it's a fantastic little gem that I've been wanting ever since Wii games on WiiU was revealed. (BTW Ninty, if you're reading this, and I know you are because you clearly have spies on me, I would happily pay full price for Disaster: Day of Crisis, and I'm sure many Americans would do the same)

Female Villager is a bit lighter than Male Villager. And both of them occupy two new weight classes along with Cat Peach and Tanooki Mario. Also there's a hidden Mini turbo stat that lighter vehicles and characters excel in.

Yep, I also agree with 200cc being an occasional thing. Despite the fact that it appears to have helped me to catch up to you a bit.

You block with ZL. (Or L, can't remember which) In fact, that's the best way to get some characters to expose their weak points. (Zant, for example)

Koopa City (That name change bugs me, considering the signs still have the American name) is a perfectly OK course. Or are you still a little bit hurt from last night's race? 7th, right? I think it works great on 200cc, really hammers home the "You need to BRAKE" message. It also looks great with the weather effects.
