  1. Eh... Just seems like a compromise really. Takes away the Mii's personality and in return, gives you what looks like a cheap knock-off. Kinda like the Dunban costume really.
  2. I don't give a damn! You blatantly piled on to that.
  3. You know, the more you gripe on about that, the more bitter you look. I mean, everyone knows and everyone agrees that it's a mistake, but the more you whine, the less everyone else cares.
  4. It's gonna be called Star Fox. And it's going to be a gritty reboot where everyone is constantly brooding and looking out of windows. Except Slippy, he'll be exactly the same, just to irritate you.
  5. Oi! We are not doing this here. Not in this thread! Don't start with this constant bickering!
  6. I know this is meant to be a jokey comment. But in a world where people got the genders of Yooka and Laylee mixed up (Despite it being in the first sentence of the kickstarter), I honestly don't know what to believe.
  7. No, I would have still complained about it. I just would have pointed out easier ways that it could have been done as well. And BTW, I didn't know this game would be so arbitrary. My entire knowledge of the game before playing it was what I saw on the Theatrhythm games. Next to nothing. I knew some of the characters and some of the music. Funny story about "The End" I got Selphie's Limit Break for the first time during a boss. I started messing around with Slot. Seeing what could come up. Saw "The End", thought, "what the hell's that?" and tried it. Got a good laugh when the boss went down instantly. Bahumut, yes. Eden, no. I found the location by accident when I was completely confused on where to go next. (Game told me to fly to Esthar to save Rinoa, I went to Esthar city, could have been explained better, but it was partly my fault as well) That puzzle was nothing but random guesswork and it was just getting irritating. Oh, and for the record, I love the junctioning system but I hate drawing and I think the game should have had some kind of tutorial for at least refining magic.
  8. That's insane. How is anyone supposed to know any of this without a guide? If I had some kind of clue as to there being draw points on the world map, I would have made use of them, or at least tried to look them up if I couldn't figure it out, but there wasn't. No hint what-so-ever. I hate looking up guides, it makes it feel like I'm cheating, but with each instalment of FF, I find myself using them more and more. It's very unsatisfying. This kinda started with 5, got a little bit better with 6. (Don't get me wrong, getting some optional stuff in that game is ridiculous. Shadow, anyone?) But 7 had me relying on a guide every now and again, with 8 getting even worse. I don't like the direction it's going. I shouldn't be punished because I didn't rely on a guide Square wanted me to buy. (Not relevant these days, I know) All I did was look up where to go next when I got stuck. Every single time, it was either because of some stupid tiny path I could never have noticed or because I just flat out couldn't find anything on the world map. So excuse me for not actively finding ways to break the system. I should explain that second reason a bit with an example. Up until Edea's House, every time I was supposed to traverse the World Map to a new location, my world map would be marked with a small dot labelling that location. Helpful. The World Map is a bit awkward to get around before you get an airship, so it was very welcome. But when I had to go to Edea's House, the game decided not to bother with that. Leaving me gliding around in my oversized boat looking for the tiniest area in the middle of nowhere, completely isolated from anything else of interest.
  9. Maybe with enemies, but think about the bosses. When I fought Cerberus, I noticed I could draw a spell called Triple. I had no idea whether I'd be able to easily get this or not. So I drew it like mad. Turns out it was actually quite difficult to refine and it's an awesome bit of magic. So I'm glad I went through that tedium. Another example is Ultima, that's almost impossible to refine. (Naturally, of course, it is Ultima) My point is that sometimes, drawing is the only way to reasonably get some magic and that's tedious. Unlike rupee farming in Zelda, to even stand a reasonable chance in this game, you'll have to do some drawing. Yes, I did go overkill at times before I knew about refining, and yes my ignorance was partly to blame. But it is a big part of the battle system. The game also suggests that this is the ideal way to get magic.
  10. Only when I had absolutely no idea where to go. Trying to find Edea's house was painful. And for those moments when the pre-rendered backgrounds made it impossible to tell where I could go. And for the fourth time, I did figure out item refining at disc 3 and it did make the game progress more smoothly, but the game made no effort to tell me this during it's tutorial sections!
  11. That Pokemon bundle is so all over the place! Why not have one for Ruby as well? Some people like Groudon, you know? And why in the world does it not use the Groudon and Kyogre face plate and theme? It's baffling.
  12. We already got that, it's called Pokemon Art Academy. DOSE MARKERS! HNNNNGH!
  13. I never have issues with the D-Pad. Then again, I used an XL... I never actually tried using the Circle Pad, I can imagine it not being great though.
  14. It's amazing how well Ninty games tend to hold their value.
  15. Right, OK. I should have pointed this out really. My bad. I got almost every single GF in the game. Including Bahamut and Eden (Drawn from Ultima Weapon) I even got Odin and whoever replaced him once he got offed by Seifer. And Cactuar. I do try, you know? But I'm not gonna 100% a game that can be extremely obscure. (A lot of RPG's are guilty of this, especially around this time, I'm guessing they really wanted people to buy the guides.) I was missing two of the ones you can junction, the one placed to the left of Eden and the one placed on the left of Bahamut. Actually, you just reminded me of something that I never figured out. There was this ring I picked up, apparently there was a GF in there, but I could never get it to work...
  16. I hate Nuts and Bolts because of what they did to Banjo's face. Yes, I know he looked like that when it was first announced. I mean, ewwwwww! He used to be so handsome and then he became a cuboid. The game wasn't fun for me though, too many menus and building for my liking.
  17. Did I not say that it was OK? I did enjoy it, it was fun especially after I figured out the magic refining. (Game never explains that) But I'm not going to ignore it's flaws. And you're picking and choosing bits of my arguments. What about the pre-rendered backgrounds not conveying where you can go? What about the sheer unlikeable nature of Squall? And excuse me, but in a story-driven game, I think I have every right to point out glaringly massive plot holes and convenient Deus-Ex-Machina's. Of which there are many. And what about the many things I liked about the game? What about Quistis and Rinoa, who I genuinely liked? The visuals, the music, the great junction system, the well-crafted transitions from in-game to FMV's. And the really cool and trippy ending! In fact, I even pointed out that I accidently discovered that I could refine magic on disc 3, so I have to question whether you read the whole thing or whether you just looked for negatives! And you have to remember one more thing. I had never played this game before! Do you actually expect me to understand every little detail of this game after one playthrough? I mean, what the hell are you on about with the Isle of Heaven/Hell? That means nothing to me. No normal player is going to know about that! The game is good, when it gets things right, it's a lot of fun, but it's let down by quite a few things and I'll be damned if I'm not going to voice my opinion on it just because you think I should have known better.
  18. Oh boy... A couple of days ago, I finally finished Final Fantasy 8 for the first time. Some of you may recall me saying that since the GBA versions of Final Fantasy 1 and 2, I've been playing each one, in order, for the first time. Final Fantasy 8 is definitely a dividing game. Some people (like @Hero\-of\-Time) absolutely adore this game, while others (Like @Dcubed) think it's an unforgiveable pile of trash. But they don't matter now, what's important is what I, a person who has never played this game, thought of it.
  19. Tempted to get Puzzle & Dragons... The demo was strangely fun. If a bit ludicrously hard.
  20. That really depends on whether you want screen clarity or portableness. If you're gonna use off-tv play to play it. You might as well get the 3DS one then. The 3D effect is very nice and Streetpass is well implemented.
  21. I've not played it because the game has locked me out of later quests until I up my HR, despite having every single-player quest available to me done. Bit of a gittish move, that. What if someone doesn't have access to online? They have to fight those tougher monsters themselves?
  22. I really do hope it's a case of setting messing, but this is worrying if it's true. Maybe they just don't want people to realise how lame the voices will be compared to Britain.
  23. Pffft! Ah ha ha ha! Really!? That's the best they could do? They might as well not have bothered. It just makes them look bad.
  24. I think the theme is quite clever actually. Some of you guys complain over nothing. The change of CC's mean you'd have to keep on your toes. Also, holy nards! I'm tied for first! Well chuffed about that!
  25. But the MK8 DLC trophies suck. They're all the same trophy.
