No-one did one last year, so fine, I'll do it myself! The year's coming to a close, and it's safe to say that it's been quite an excellent one in terms of the software that were released. So it's time to make lists and secretly judge everyone for their stupid, incorrect opinions. Instead of just doing a GOTY style one, I'm gonna blatantly nick the format @Jonnas used 2 years ago, because he's right. We all have backlogs, and the urge to play older titles. What were your favourite games released in 2023? What yearly GOTY discussions usually talk about, what were the best 2023 games for you? What were your favourite games played in 2023? Once you include older games you played this year for the first time, what are your favourites? Do they surpass this year's releases? Feel free to include replays and such, it's your opinion. Any 2023 release that you wish you had played? I mean, surely we didn't buy every new game, right? Any game(s) you feel like you missed out on? Righto, lead by example: That took longer then I expected. Have at it!

I completed the demo yesterday, and it feels surreal that this neat little series is getting a surprisingly decent budget for this remake. Full 3D movement in two games that never had them, with voice acting and actual animation. It's all very neat! But that second puzzle... I'm the kind of guy who always thinks motion controls are great. But that was awful! Those controls were absolute crud. I hope that's just a weird outlier...

I'm getting some real Pokémon style "If you don't want EXP Share, just have 1 Pokémon in your team" vibes from that. Completely dismissive of why people might enjoy a linear approach. Mandated structure is not an inherently bad thing.

For context, I'm Player 1 (Boo, Top Left Screen, Maple) @BowserBasher is Player 2, (Paratroopa, Bottom Left Screen in F-Zero, Top Right in Mario Kart, Sonny) @Dcubed is Player 3, (Wario, Top Right in F-Zero, Bottom Left in Mario Kart, Wario in Mario Golf) And @darksnowman is Player 4 (DK, Bottom Right Screen, Harry) I'm 33 years old... But still, sometimes we're so flabbergasted, we actually stop taking the mick!

Mario Wonder theme's up now. The Tetriminos are atrocious, and Mario Wonder's music is so lame, it uses a Mario Galaxy remix for the last 10 people. Not a great one this time. Still got it though. I normally only place better when he gets too ambitious and accidentally kills himself! Well haps!

Oh right, I forgot to ask! Does that also apply to the Full length Mario Tennis match? Because I'm sure something like a 3 set, 2 game match would be a decent portion of Mario Tennis without commandeering the whole night. Yes, I'm fully aware that any game of Mario Party lasts for at least an hour, but we'll only play that if you're up for it.

Pretty much, but we tend to go for two hours, maybe more. You don't need to stick around for the whole duration if you can't though. Anyway, I'll make a note to put Goldeneye on the list with those settings, but only if we play a round of Slappers Only, License to Kill afterwards. It's hilarious! Fair warning though, we play with inverted aim. Majority of us prefer it.

He does, just not here. I chat to him and a few other absentees on Discord now and again. Never as satisfying as a forum layout though.

@dazzybee was less complimentary about it when he saw my stats. Insomnia plays a big part in it. Lots of nights when I'm wide awake in bed getting very bored.

Right, Friday's free for me, and seeing how much I enjoyed it last time, I want to do an N64 muliplayer session again. I'm gonna mention @darksnowman, as he expressed intest in joining in. Simply put, from 8pm. I, and hopefully three other losers, will be taking a road trip around the NSO app, playing a bunch of 4 player multiplayer games. What games? No idea. Got no concrete plan. Open to suggestions, but make sure it is a 4 player game.

Oh man, I just found out. This sucks, Holt is one of the top 3 characters in Brooklyn Nine-Nine! Very sad.

I swear, it was a 20 turn game! Words fail me. This is, by far, the most insane game we've played since this thread started! 6 hidden blocks! 14 stars! 3 Chance Times! At least the Barter Box didn't show up this time. A Koopa Card did though! But @Dcubed never passed a bank space once he got it, so it never got used. Those items are meant to be rare, I swear! Anyway! I TOTALLY WON ON WATER WHIRLED! What absolute BS was that!? Looking at those results, it just occurred to me that the last 2V2 mingame we played was pivotal in deciding who placed where. Not for @S.C.G, he had the game in the bag once he nicked 94 of my coins in Chance Time, but for everyone else. If Dcubed and @BowserBasher had won that last minigame, then they would've gotten 10 coins instead of me. Which means BowserBasher would've clinched second place, while Dcubed and I would've drawn. I lucked out big, because with my track record with a certain thing, I would not have won that tie breaker!

OH NO! I accidentally misclicked 20 times and turned on every item except Mushrooms! What am I like?
