  1. Are you browsing on a phone? Because you just described one of the GIFs I posted at the top of this page. It's remarkable that Bokoblins of all things can actually be a threat if you're not careful.
  2. Hey, I lasted a lot longer than most people. But I did cave eventually. I was just watching the Pokemon stuff and then they said, "Don't worry if you're afraid of spoilers, there's no story elements" That's how they got me, I did blank out whenever they went into a shrine though, I don't need my insane memory remembering how to solve puzzles, thanks. They might as well have said, "Glen, we've realised you said you weren't going to watch so this is for you. And trust us, that sensor bar with your WiiU is totally NOT a camera we use to spy on you. Incidentally, we're releasing an unrelated glow in the dark amiiBoo. You should probably set aside some money for that."
  3. And what a glorious Saturday it is! And now, some stupid (And hilarious) death GIFs... With my personal favourite at the end.
  4. Nintendo @ E3 2016

It's a turn-based RPG. Pokemon gameplay is hardly the most exciting thing to watch, especially the beginning and at the glacial pace they were going. Only the nutso Pokemon fans (You, me, etc) would have found it interesting. They just don't understand. But like I said before, it takes all the intrigue out of new Pokemon. It's not a trade-off that's worth it. I'm sure you've had those moments when you're fighting a Gym Leader and they send out a Pokemon you've never seen before and you're desperately trying to figure out what type combination it is. This effectively takes that away.
  5. Pokémon Sun/Moon

Really? You're surprised no-one's updated this, @Serebii? Because I'm on a phone and everyone else is too interested in spoiling surprises in Zelda to care. Also, I gave my impressions in the Nintendo E3 thread. Yungoos' face cracks me up. The rest of them I don't really care for at the moment.
  6. Wii U and 3DS Gaming Bargains

The digital versions of both Smash Bros 3DS and WiiU are on sale. 35% off. But if you're subscribed to My Nintendo, you get a special "Just for You" offer, making it 45%. It's a pretty smashing deal!

Paper Mario came out for the N64 in 2001. It is very much the spiritual sequel of Super Mario RPG on the SNES, a turn-based RPG game with action elements in it. Bowser's kidnapped Peach! OH BLOODY NO! Mario goes to stamp him into oblivion, but doesn't take into account the Star Rod that Bowser has just nicked from Star Haven. It kinda makes him invincible, which is no doubt problematic. So Mario needs to rescue the 7 star spirits that Bowser has imprisoned and use their power to shove his foot up some over sized Koopa backside once again. Story-wise, there's nothing special here. It is a typical Mario RPG plot. But this game does have some great humour backing it up though, along with some outright silly scenarios to spice things up along the way, including a Penguin Murder Case! You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse And a bit of utter stupidity to help add to the absurdity. View post in Miiverse Of course, I naturally hit the real Kooper for nothing more than giggles! You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse Anyway, this plays very much like a typical RPG, the key difference being that you can pull off "Action commands", stuff like timed button presses to increase damage or defend yourself from attacks. Nowhere near as complex as the Mario & Luigi series, but still fun none-the-less. It's a nice, easy game to play through. But if you do a little digging, you can find some truly punishing battles in this. Most people will tell you that the hardest boss in this game is an optional boss called "The Master". Those people are wrong, that boss is absolute cake compared to this absolute nightmare! You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse For contexts sake, just one of those enemies can do a whopping 10-12 HP damage in one turn, (Mario does a piddly 6 by default, but there are ways of increasing this) so three of them is seriously bad news. Don't worry, I did it. Because I'm just that good at Paper Mario! You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse Visuals have aged remarkably well for an N64 game, a serious case for art style over graphical power here. It's quite possibly the nicest looking N64 game by today's standards. Soundtrack is very catchy as well, one early song in particular is so ingrained in my head that I'm afraid I'll never truly forget it for as long as I live. I recommend giving this game a go if you haven't already, it's still a solid RPG that has definitely withstood the time test. Although that said, it does have some early installment weirdness in there... You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. 8. Nintendo @ E3 2016

I believe they mentioned something about wanting to open up the game to newer players. I feel like this might be an "EXP Share" moment. Pokemon games are easy enough. There's literally no reward for knowing the type matchups now.
  9. Nintendo @ E3 2016

Thank you! Proper Pokemon fans appreciate the subtle differences they showed. I particularly like the over-the-top visual effect for when you get spotted by a trainer. The little detail of being able to check how a Pokemon's stats have been lowered or raised is a nice touch as well. I'm not so keen on the way they just flat out tell you whether a move is super effective or not though. Takes all the fun out of trying to guess what type a new Pokemon is...
  10. amiibo (NFC)

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD! That's my 5th amiibo! Boo gets that special treatment that it so rightfully deserves!
  11. Nintendo @ E3 2016

But Pokemon has always been a boring game to actually watch. Most turn-based RPG's are.
  12. Nintendo @ E3 2016

Battle Royale definitely looks interesting in Pokemon. The potential for strategies is very high there. Also snickering at all you moaning that they're showing Pokemon, when they said they're showing Pokemon, what were you expecting?
  13. Woo! 10 minutes before I go on blackout from this thread, nice knowing you guys, but I do not want the whole game spoiled for me. Byeeeeeee!
  14. Funny you should mention what the controls might be because I've noticed something interesting. Do you notice it? Link's right handed. Now there are 2 other games where Link is right handed. Wonder what those were...
  15. South Park: The Fractured But Whole

I am really digging the Radiant Historia style battle system! Looking very promising!
  16. Detroit: Become Human

Finally, a PS4 exclusive that actually makes me want to play it now! That trailer was great! Featured a lot of Heavy Rain. Sorry. Will be keeping a very close eye on this one. Despite not owning a PS4.
  17. It's going to have a subtitle. I am absolutely positive about that. And it'll be called "The Legend of Zelda for WiiU" and "The Legend of Zelda for NX" And you'll get a free playable Mewtwo for getting both!
  18. Stardew Valley coming to Wii U this year

Don't worry, I noticed that in the trailer. Still doesn't interest me.
  19. Resident Evil VII

Yeah, this would be my thoughts. Except that I don't really like the original Resi. I'm more of a 4 dude. Also, 1st person? Blech! This just seems like another horror game which I won't have any interest in. That logo is dope though! That's very cool as well.
  20. Severed (Wii U/3DS)

Oooooh! That trailer has me intrigued... I don't know why, but the gameplay gives the impression of Hana Samurai, but with touch screen controls. Looks to be quite the interesting game. And considering some of you are really bigging this game up, I might have to give it a bash.
  21. Stardew Valley coming to Wii U this year

Ah, it's a farming simulator? Not for me then, those kind of games put me to sleep. But the presentation is very charming.
  22. Stardew Valley coming to Wii U this year

    I really hope that's a joke...
  23. Stardew Valley coming to Wii U this year

Never heard of this game. Anyone wanna explain what it is?
  24. Yooka-Laylee

Well, that's just blatantly wrong. Clearly, some people care. And there's nothing wrong with that.
  25. Boss Keys - Zelda dungeon video analysis

Oh snap! New Matthew Matosis video? Thanks for letting me know. Don't even care about Devil May Cry and yet I'm still super interested in a video he's done of it. Which I guess says a lot about how good he is.
