  1. Spent a fair bit of time on this over the weekend, time is definitely the enemy. Been mainly doing imp quests but did build a game for the Temple imp quest, it’s a 2D test level in a 3D landscape and works quite well. Have given it a start screen and a hub scene so more levels can be added in the future. Have another game I made for a previous community jam that I need to finish, so I think I’ll try and complete these 2 games before starting anything else to big, will still try and contribute to future community jams though.

  2. Yeah the Dreamiverse is starting to fill up now, it’s had a redesign and is a lot easier to surf and find stuff now. Mm also have quite a few games on there as well as the story game Arts dream.

A couple of games released today below.

  3. So Dreams is reviewing really great and I have to say it’s well deserved. It’s an amazing achievement by Mm to put game development in the hands of everyone.

I played through the story mode the other night, it’s only 2-3 hrs long but fits dreams perfectly. It’s made completely in dreams and shows off just what the game is capable of and how many genres are possible.

Got my fingers crossed this is a success for Mm, they thoroughly deserve it.

So this officially releases this coming week, on the 14th. Those who jumped in during Early Access will have access to the full release as of Tuesday 11th however.

Very interested to jump back in and see what the single player entails. Also looking forward to getting to grips with dream sculpting again. I've dabbled a little bit over the last week but it's been months since I touched the game so it has been a little rough going. I also didn't have a cloud or backup of my save and so I've lost everything I'd been working on when I jumped into early access in April and May which kind of sucks.

Still, its giving me a chance to work from scratch and see if I can work on completing an actual game or scene. I've got a general idea for something sci-fi based and have been doing a bit of writing for it as it would be more of a narrative thing than anything else (which means I don't have to worry about doing much extensive animation, though that's something I'm looking forward to messing with). But I'll see how it goes. Just curious to get back into the swing with it and to try out the stick based controls on the final version.

Yeah Im still playing dreams pretty regular and always try and contribute something to the community jams every couple of weeks. I’m ranking in the top 25% pretty regular so I’m definitely improving, if you need a collaborator for anything let me know as doing everything yourself can be a slow process.
Looking forward to the full release and playing through the campaign that comes on the 11th.

I'm honestly more curious about how well the game is going to sell more than actually playing it. It could be a real make or break situation for the studio.

To be honest I think the game will review great but won’t do big numbers out the gate, I believe Shu said they had a 10 year plan for Dreams so I think it will be a game that grows over time with the community. Ill be interested to see how they implement dreams with the PS5.

As for Media Molecule I think they’ll be fine, they’re next to no drain on Sony financially and I don’t think they’d want to lose such a talented studio.

    • Thanks 1

  5. People starting to get in to the industry and the game still hasn’t been released yet.

Ive been playing through the beta and early access and the tool set really is amazing and it should only get better with full release. Hoping it gets a PS5 upgrade so you can make bigger and better stuff.

Anyone up for checking out the new dungeon tonight? Want to get the Xenophage quest done as well.

Me and @MilaGi we're gonna check it out later, join us if you want we'll be on about 8. Think we're at the right stage of the xenophage quest.

@Map Fancy doing the Pyramdion later. I hear it's a 'boot you to orbit when you wipe' strike.

Also, with @MilaGi  Heroic 'Zero Hour' run? If not tonight, sometime this week?

Yeah count me in for both of those.

@Map That would be ace actually. I need to run it for the Izanagi quest and to use the tokens from the Wish...bow quest thing

If you need a third I’d be up for it - have some weird bounty that says I need to beat a boss in the shattered throne whilst ascendant.

Cool, I'll be on tonight about 6-7ish.

Austringer with 'Subsistence' and 'Rampage' is low-key fucking insane (Plus Accurized Rounds). Obviously the diminished reserves is a real sticking point. But...holy hell, in the right circumstances this thing is an exotic-level weapon. Imagine never needing to reload and proc-ing Rampage x3 with ease...until you run out of ammo.

I'm keeping it for when they buff Subsistence.

I heard subsistence was an underrated perk, not rolled one with that yet so haven't been able to try it out. If you want to run shattered throne again before reset let me know.

Can i rejoin N-e's clan? Everyone bar 6 people have left my clan and and they refuse to come on, too busy with Monster Hunter or The Division 2....

    I'm still a warlock, light level 689

Will drop you a clan invite when you're next online, good to have you back.

I'm torn between looking stuff up and just letting stuff happen. I'm going to resist the temptation to check which one the Whisper quest is...but I think I have a good idea.

Just to get the ball rolling...

We've all done the first raid.

What is the 'raid' after and what is the light level requirement?

After the first raid there are 2 raid lairs on the leviathan. First one is 300 light the next 370.

Then the the last wish raid in the dreaming city is 550.

The raids with the annual pass are scourge of the past at 640 and the latest crowns of sorrow I think is 720.

Happy to run them all at some point as none of us have done them.

    • Thanks 2

  11. Yeah I think there has been 5 raids since the first one, a few are only raid lairs but a lot of content to catch up on.

Also for those returning, don't miss some content in warmind. Escalation protocol is good but the whisper quest is amazing and not to be missed.

I picked up Forsaken and played it over the weekend.

I'm not sure if it's just because my expectations were super low, but I just loved it. Did the Barons and then the 'Nothing Left to Say' mission. There were hints of it during Taken King but this is what Destiny missions should have been from day one. Genuinely well written (it's not Shakespeare, not that that really needs saying, but it really delivers what it's trying to), varied objectives, surprising mechanics. The tone walked a great line between serious, epic and fun.

I'd definitely like to give the raids a go if anyone is up for it.

Glad you're enjoying it, for me Forsaken is some of the best Destiny content Bungie have done. It gets even better once you reach the dreaming city as well.

Me @MilaGi, @Deathjam and Kirsty are always playing so give us a shout if you want a hand with anything or wanna team up for gambit, always up for the raid as we've struggled for enough people previously.

Early access was released this morning and I've spent a few hours with it trying to get to grips with things. First things first, it's very complex. There's a lot of tools and elements that can be used in a huge number of ways. There's tutorials to take you through things which I've been going through to get the basics but I can see it being something that could zap away a lot of time if you want to experiment with how things work beyond how they're presented to you initially.

I'm not keen on the camera controls for moving around in the 3D space. It was always going to be problematic, especially when you're making and editing things but even with a few tricks to help you move the camera around, it's still tricky. The same can be said for the controls, especially on the motion control front but it's something I'm slowly acclimatising to.

It's been interesting so far and I can see myself spending time in the creator trying to make things but I need to spend more time with the tutorials. I started a scene creation but I'm oblivious about many of the tools and have found it hard to get things to line up or yo even get things in the correct colours. Again, it's something I'll hopefully get to grips with so I'm looking forward to see what can be done and what others can do. I don't know if I'll ever manage to make a game/level but I'm hopeful of making something in the long term.

So yeah, so far it's intriguing. Plenty of scope to make just about anything but it's just the issue of wrapping your head around it all.

Yeah, Ive picked up the early access as well, looking forward to diving back in again.

I agree that the controls and toolset seem a little daunting at first but stick at it as it really does become second nature after a while and spend as much time as you need in the tutorials. In my two weeks in the Beta I spent the first week just doing tutorials and the second week applying what id learnt to my first puppet and game scene. I'll try and send you my game scene later so you can see how things can quickly come together.
