  1. Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles

He said remake or... Anyway - Resi 4 with enhanced graphics, possibly some extra levels for the main game, Wii controls, The Ada mission and then a Luis/Krauser mission (Why not both), perhaps with online mercenaries mode would be awesome and I'd love to see it. Lets them test the waters with a proven product enhanced and updated, one Gamecube owners of the game would buy in their masses for sure. Not only that but it would probably be fairly easy to develop. If its a success then a downgraded port of 5 or new exclusive entries to the series (or remakes of 2/3/CV) would be perfect.
  2. I enjoyed the first film to be honest, yeah the special effects were a bit dodgy and the plot didn't tie in with the games but I found it to be fairly entertaining. Never saw the second but I think this sounds fine, if very land of the dead'ish - Its an interesting take on the world of Resident Evil as far as I'm concerned and whilst I probably won't see it at the cinema I genuinley don't think it sounds as bad as everyone is making out.
  3. Your first Virtual Console download?

As Long as its available from day one then Comix Zone for the Mega Drive. I have no need to get any of the Sonic games (have the Gamecube compilations) and I have the bulk of NES/SNES/N64 titles already for their original system and don't want to buy them all over again. Comix Zone on the other hand is one of my favourite games of all time and I used to own it for PC, never had a Mega Drive so this will be my chance to get it back.
  4. NGC reborn! - NGamer

Not entirely, content in magazines (or certainly the content in NGC/N64 at its best) is considerably better than content online, more thorough and well written. Also you can take and read them anywhere and magazines often dig up nuggets of information and screenshots which can't be found online. I see your point but I wouldn't say they are a complete waste of money. I'm torn with this mag really, I loved N64/NGC and if this is as well written then it will be great but £4.99 is a little steep unless the dvd is really good and full of unique content. I'll be buying the first issue at least.
  5. He's basically saying that the PS3 is the special occasions kind of system, like the Sunday Lunch of consoles. A feast to have once in a while that you really enjoy but something you don't want all the time. The Wii on the other hand is your average daily meal. Alternatively as he says, PS3 is kind of like going to the Cinema to see a film which you do once in a while and its a big screen, epic experience. Whereas Wii is TV, the thing you want to watch every day of the week. For me that suggests that he sees PS3 as the place for really epic, long lasting titles with high production values. The Wii on the other hand is the system for short, fun everyday kind of games.
  6. But thats the kind of game Kojima makes, if he sees Wii like that I think we can rule out seeing a Metal Gear Solid game for certain.
  7. Wii Hardware Discussion

Agreed, I think on the 'after' the stuff in the distance looks better but the stuff closer up looks better on the 'before' pic.
  8. Why are there so many launch titles anyway?

A lot of them are classed as launch period/window titles, which usually means the first 3-6 months of the consoles life. It means that we'll have a good amount of titles to keep us going, we won't possibly be able to afford them all but come the Summer drought which fill folow the launch period it'll mean we have plenty to catch up on. The more games the better, although a few will inevitably slip.
  9. So it takes years to implement a tilt sensor? Technology that was originally used in Kirby's Tilt and Tumble on the Game Boy Colour 6 years ago and took about 18 months to develop? If you say so
  10. Not many copies have been made available in this country, had you have waited you'd have probably ended up paying more on eBay.
  11. Apple to acquire Nintendo?

There have been a lot of rumours about iTunes being built into the Wii and being used for the Virtual Console as well as the other stuff. That and the new, apple-esque designs, not to mention the rumours that the Wii is built on PowerPC architecture (As I believe the Cube was) would clearly suggest at least a friendly relationship between the companies. Personally I think it'd be a fantastic move, though I would be totally against Nintendo being accquired or merging with someone like Microsoft. I think if they merged with Apple they'd be allowed to keep their own identity and keep true to their own ideas without just simply being accquired as a software developer. I also believe that if they merged it would be highly beneficial for both companies. Apple have for years been trying to compete with Microsoft in the Computer market, but have never really succeeded in attracting more than the consumers who want to use arty applications. A large reason for this is that Apple computers have never been able to attract Gamers. The ability to play Nintendo games or even just use the Wii mote on an Apple computer would seriously enhance its appeal to Gamers. As for Nintendo, they've always had trouble with advertising and appealing to the cool crowd and whilst the DS has moved things forward I think that having Apple onboard would seriously enhance that appeal. Both companies would retain their own individuality whilst using their own strengths to help each other and expand. I believe it would be a great move although I honestly don't believe it will happen.
  12. What next for Retro?

Nope, Retro. They had three games in the works as well as Metroid Prime early in the Gamecubes life span. All were cancelled to make sure Metroid Prime lived up to expectations. They were... Thunder Rally (A Car Combat game in the style of Twisted Metal Black) Raven Blade (A Fantasy RPG) NFL Retro Football (A Licensed NFL American Football Title)
  13. What next for Retro?

Y'know a lot of Retro staff are largely made up from former members of big FPS developers, part of the reason why they so comfortably adapted Metroid Prime to the FPS genre. The main reason why Metroid games offered a less traditional method of controlling an FPS on the Gamecube was because standard controllers simply aren't suited to the genre, the only way to play has always been keyboard and mouse but with the advent of the Wii controller there should finally be a viable alternative which is clear with MP3 offering more standard FPS controls. If they were to make a more standard FPS game based on a new franchise with online multiplayer that'd be fantastic although I would prefer it not to be set in space (Too much like Halo, Metroid, Doom, Quake etc. - I want something fresh!) or during WW2. I also wouldn't complain at them either being handed the reigns of a Nintendo franchise that needs refreshing (Kid Icarus or Starfox) or even returning to finish one of their two GC projects that were scrapped to finish Metroid Prime (Raven Blade and that car battling game that looked a bit like Twisted Metal Black). Either way I'm sure they'll be entrusted with something big after MP3.
  14. Its dirt cheap on eBay so if you have an ebay account then its worth a look... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bloody-Roar-Primal-Fury-for-Gamecube_W0QQitemZ8291288456QQcategoryZ20390QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  15. Chibi Robo

Mine hasn't arrived yet, fortunately I have Fahrenheit (Amongst others) to keep me occupied until it does
  16. Wii for £120!!!?

Not really, the GC was £130 including packaging on Day One and they made a profit on that - The Wii hardware is technically not significantly more powerful than the GC hardware and given the fact that the GC hardware is 5 years old it means it will be cheap. Nintendo make profitable hardware, inspite of poor sales of their last two home systems they've still made a profit. A £99.99 price tag would not surprise me one bit.
  17. NGC magazine

Yeah, a letter in a slant that can only be a capital A can be seen right next to the G. I hope it has a lot of pages and is bound properly more like NGC/N64 at their best though instead of the TV Magazine alike it is at the moment.
  18. Wii for £120!!!?

http://darkzero.co.uk/news.php?newsid=9895 £85? I doubt we'd get it that cheap even if thats what it translates to but a £99.99 price point could happen, would certainly sell it to the non-gamers.
  19. Wii Camera

The faces of Reggie, Iwata and Shigsy at E3 on the Wii Sports characters already suggested that there would be a camera - The characters looked far too life like to have been drawn (Although I suppose if the drawing software was particularly good and the person drawing it was very familiar with the software then it is possible)
  20. NGC magazine

I don't see whats wrong with NGamer. A Magazine for Nintendo Gamers with a name that will last the test of time, Wii would be a perfectly good title as well but it does lead to the problem that in four years time then they will have to change the name and the average reader won't realise that its a magazine for DS and GBA as well with that name. The preview page certainly looked that way anyway. I got the last issue the other day, I bought N64 from about Issue 24 til the end and bought NGC until about 2 years ago although I've only bought it occasionally since then. £4 for such a wafer thin magazine seemed a rip off but it was such a good read and it brought the memories flooding back, its a fantastic magazine with a great personality which is something most mags lack (the new ONM is a well written and well designed but it has the personality of a dead cat).
  21. Chibi Robo

As far as I'm aware the codes don't get enabled until the day of release so perhaps they'll be released later today. My Chibi is in the post but I'm not expecting it to get here till tomorrow. Got plenty to keep me occupied though so its all good
  22. Pokemon Wii

That'd be fantastic but I'd also like to see Pokemon Snap return - The N64 version was overlooked by many because it was simple, short and easy but it was a whole lot of fun and had some really cool features. A much more indepth version where you use the wiimote like a camera and can post scores online and perhaps have a bit more freedom (Instead of it being on rails) could be a really good game. I think Pokemon is perfectly suited to being an MMORPG though, create your own trainer and explore the world meeting other people all over the world playing it, new content could be constantly added to keep things fresh and their could be things like competing to be a new member of the Elite 4 or a gmy leader (These could initially be npc's, imagine the Elite 4 being Reggie, Shigsy, Itawa and Yamauchi :D )
  23. Your GameCube collections

My collection has grown considerably over the last few weeks... 1. Animal Crossing 2. Chibi Robo 3. Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat 4. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem 5. F-Zero GX 6. Killer 7 7. Luigi's Mansion 8. Mario Kart: Double Dash 9. Mario Power Tennis 10. Metroid Prime 11. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes 12. Paper Mario 2 13. Pikmin 14. Pikmin 2 15. Resident Evil Zero 16. Resident Evil 17. Skies of Arcadia Legends 18. Sonic Mega Collection 19. Soul Calibur 2 20. Super Mario Sunshine 21. Super Monkey Ball 22. Super Monkey Ball 2 23. Super Smash Bros Melee 24. Starfox Adventures 25. Star Wars: Rogue Leader 26. Star Wars: Rebel Strike 27. The Legend of Zelda: Collectors Edition 28. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 29. Wario Ware: Mega Party Games 30. Wave Race: Blue Storm 8 Games Added There are still about 5 games I want to get still (Batallion Wars, Super Paper Mario, Super Monkey Ball Adventure, MGS: Twin Snakes and possibly Mario Football) - I'm running out of shelf space
  24. Hmmm... Quite a lot I regretted the first time - Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, Resident Evil...fortunately I realised my mistake and love them all now. Others though, I regret buying Nightfire because I'd really enjoyed Agent Under Fire and found Nightfire to be utter crap. In retrospect AuF wasn't so great either but Nightfire was a lot less fun. Also got Mario Party 4 and couldn't enjoy it at all, even found that in multiplayer it all moved too slow to be much fun. Prince of Persia I really liked but I couldn't get the hang of double jumping for some reason and it was essential to progress further so I traded it in I intend to buy it again though at some point. Harvest Moon and Timesplitters 2 were both christmas presents and I never got into either of them, found Timesplitters 2's controls really clumsy and found Harvest Moon to be really dull. I think that's about it really I have owned other games and traded them in but I don't regret buying them, I simply had my fun with them and moved on.
  25. What will you buy at launch?

On the plus side you can pick up Viewtiful Joe 1+2 fairly easily - They're on Gamestations 2 for £20 offer and you can find them at good prices online. Skies onthe other hand I did the exact same thing though and ended up buying it last week off ebay for £34. Its worth it Anyway, back on topic! Although it's disappointing that Mario Galaxy/Smash Bros are unlikely to be at launch it doesn't change the fact that we will definitley have some amazing games from day one. Personally Zelda is top of my list as I want a nice, deep adventure game and I've been waiting on this for ages. This'll probably be suplemented by Wario Ware (I'm certain it will be at launch), Wii Sports and Monkey Ball. I'd like Prime 3 but I think I'll wait a little while, don't want two huge games on the go from day one. I'll also consider FF:CC, Dragon Quest, Excite Truck, Trauma Centre and Red Steel - Largely depending on what the final product ends up like, they will be purchased over time though. So many good games
