    You can add me to list of 3G owners. My contract ended last month, and I'm on a £20 a month rolling contract with O2 right now. I just want the new iPhone now!

    I'm really glad to see a better screen, bigger battery, and I'm glad it'll be faster than the 3G. Also one thing I can't wait for, a better CAMERA :D The iPhone camera wasn't very good 2 years ago when I first got it. I'm hoping it's good enough to actually use as a proper camera, which with flash might actually be possible.

     

    I'm not sure how much I'd use a front facing camera though. It's be good for Skype, but then I'd always use that on my laptop.

     

    Dude is your iphone unlocked? I am on a Three network rolling contract £15 a month

    (300 mins, unlimited text, unlimited internet and unlimited text and calls to other three mobiles *whole family is on three*)

     

    I've always found better signal for three! (oxford and n.e lincs) and 3G signal is always maxed out... and super speedy!

    Switched to O2 at one point caus it offered visual voicemail and wifi hotspots for £20 but popped the sim and and had no 3G signal only wap. Swapped back to three and its full 3G and I didnt move from my seat.

     

    Wonder what options they will sell the new iphone with...

     

    I would probs try and get it sim free unlocked... never liked long contracts...

    I got a brand spanking new work phone today. Unfortunately, I'm only allowed to use it for work purposes, but it's still an extremely awesome phone. It's so awesome it needs a spoiler box.

    Went for a walk in the sun today! with my oakleys *stroke* and posted my application AGAIN! no thanks to the royal mail losing it in the first place.

    Caught the post office guy when he stuck on a stamp on the envelope, I was like NO! post by recorded please...

    On paper being cable it SHOULD be faster... but do you mean Virgin? instead of NTL? As far as I know from my connection back home there is some traffic shaping around the afternoon time but its not as bad as some.

     

    If it is traffic shaping, there isnt much you can do about that I guess...

    Apple wouldn't be stupid enough to put a hardware keyboard in there, and people really should use a bit of common sense before spouting the above. This is a company that keeps going on about multitouch and dynamic changeable inputs like on screen keyboards.

    It's JUST a thought. Geez give reason and logic, not a one word dismissal has yet to be disproved, we certainly havent received information to the contrary.

    Tbh they havent done a lot of things like: shown us pictures of the internals, found out the type of display, shown ANY pictures of it running ((not fully) they at least get a "plug in to itunes" screen though))

    Those gaps look like intended design elements to me, and I think they look alright! But as you say, it's still going to be revised, although with it this far along you can bet that's close to the final model, and that release is certainly going to be this year after all.

     

    After reading around I read on some comments which suggested the the gap on the lower half is so that you have a gap where the slide out keyboard would be pulled out - in a tray fashion -

     

    What is even more intriguing is that from the looks of it, the back of the phone could be made from the same material as the back of the magic mouse.

     

    Multi touch gestures on the back anyone?!

     

    Zooming wouldnt require BOTH thumb and finger on the front... Hold the iphone; move thumber down the screen while on the back moving the index finger up... THERE's YOUR ZOOM!..... mm

     

    edit: hence the straight edges since they need a definable end to the multitouch surface.

    Yeah I reckon loads of people will have got the 3G when it first came out and didn't want to pay a fortune to upgrade to the 3GS to get a phone which would be out of date 6 months into the contract.

     

    Can't wait for it to be officially announced so we can see it properly. I'm actually hoping for an overhaul of the OS in terms of the design of the menu system. It's coming up 3 years old now and looks pretty dated. The iPhone is still missing quite a few things it really should have. There's absolutely no reason that you can't view calendar events, emails, texts on the lock screen for example.

     

    Took the words out of my mouth! Appears that there are 3 3G owners here that are looking to replace our phones lol. I want a bit more customisation around the phone like music in your library that you can set as your ringtone, rather then having to cut and trim. changing background with the weather maybe...

    The person doesn't work for Giz. The first pics showed up about a week ago, they looked pretty fake, then it seems to me that Giz have bought it off them and had a good look over it.

     

    I think it looks awesome. If it's genuine, I can't wait :)

    Buuut, on the other hand by the time my current contract runs out, I will have had an iPhone for 18 months and may want to try an android phone or something else. We shall see :3

     

    I'm on a pay monthy contract on my 3G literally waiting for this baby to launch! I am in the same boat as you.. android looks very VERY tempting but the apps are just too darn useful!

    Just need to to tidy the edges of the phone up. No rocker for volume? hmm

    That's because to me OS4 isnt an upgrade, it's to me a catchup patch. So OS4 isnt a selling point, if I buy it, it would be because of the hardware.

    Yeah saw those on engadget today. Apparently its pretty much confirmed that those are the actual model. Though I read on a blog how it reckons that the internals are the actual "4g" and that the external might be minus the sides. Since they found a patent for radio frequency friendly glass by apple a while back.

     

    To be honest I was looking forward to it not using OS4 since it would just feel dated, because my 3g could run it and now I got these really expensive upgrade and it works in almost all the same ways.. not a great selling point..

    It's been an anthem for me since October, we're in love. Trolly Wood by them is great as well.

     

    yay! another eisley fan! not sure about their new songs tbh! I guess its more of a package, the other songs might give more meaning to the ones out atm.

     

    Thing is they dropped WB as a label recently and it might be a while till the release their album :(

    Re: Ghibli films. I have all except Earthsea and that new one that's out. Oh and Whispers of the Heart I think. I forget actually (and too lazy to check), for the last two years me and Jodie just shared our collections.

     

    I got it from a private business in Hong Kong which sold stationary! I'm off to HK in the summer if you want me to take a look at some stuff?

    Well the annoying thing is it's proably different for everyone. Otherwise wouldn't this one brand be outselling all the rest?

     

    Maybe but then again I've been in a similar situation going through cycles :'(
