  1. Wii U and Virgin Media

Hello All Phew, after 48 hours of scanning forums and taking everyone's advice, our Wii U is now connected to the internet, has downloaded the update and is now updating the system with it...so hopefully we will be up and running very soon. This is the advice I followed, which is the same as given above - the key was to MANUALLY enter the SSID as well as all the other info, rather than accept the automatically detected connection! Firstly you need to enter the details manually so: ssid: virginmediaxxxxxxx (xx = the numbers after your ssid) secruity: Now change this to "WPA-PSK[AES]" and type your password. The others didnt work for me and WEP seems disabled. Make sures its changed to AES on your router too. IP address: 192.168.0.xx - xx can be whatever you want really, I was using 35 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.0.1 Now the DNS settings can be a number of things but we'll just use googles: 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 Leave the proxy blank and dont change the MTU It worked for me, and good luck to everyone else - thank you guys for all your support Now I'm off to play Wii U with my son - yeah! Karen
  2. Wii U and Virgin Media

Thank you both for helping... I have now changed all the suggested settings on Virginmedia, changed WPS to WPA auto (on the superhub) AND changed security to none on the Wii...still no connection! The first two changes allowed me to connect to the device but not the Internet. Changing security to none locked me out of the device as well I'm now going to see if I can find another router to connect to the superhub...and I hope it doesn't mess up every other device I do have working fine. Urghhh, if i had realised it was going to be this hard, I'd have saved my money!
  3. Wii U and Virgin Media

Hi, I'm completely new to all this and I'm not that techie minded! I am just a mum trying to get our new Wii U connected so my son can have some fun! I did call virgin re the connection and they told me to call back in a week as they don't know how to fix Wii U problems yet...and when I do call back n a week, they want £60 from me to fix it! I got as far as changing all the settings as per earlier advice, and now my Wii U will connect to the network device but not the Internet (which is a start). Trouble is, I don't know how to disable the superhub firewall or change speeds, so can someone please guide me? Thank you Karen
