  8. Gap Years!

My two cents: Gap years are useful especially between uni and college so you can sort out your head, have a break from learning, get some life experience, grow the hell up and have some fun. Ready for a very busy 3 years. As a postgraduate i guess they're helpful, but i'd try and use the time to gain experience towards a career goal, even if it's volunteering. Having said this some employers look at people who have had life experiences favorably. Try and do things that will add to your CV for your dream job, and try to avoid wasting a year. In addition, you can apply to study abroad if you wanted to carry on with education, that way you can stretch your wings abit. There are also various post-graduate opportunities to live and work abroad for a year like JET scheme stuff. If you want to go to europe rather than japan, it might be good to take a couple of months a do a TEFL teaching course. That way you earn, and have lots of new experiences in a different part of the world. *phew*

  13. Just a thread to allow for the collection of people's reviews, and thoughts of iPhone and iPod touch Apps. Just downloaded Virtual Villagers for £4.99, it's a shrunk down version of the Mac and PC games where you basically control the establishment and running of a group of castaway villagers. Almost like populous meets Black and White meets Lost in Blue (but more fun that LiB). What make's this game so addictive is that once you quit the app and go back to it hours later, the game has moved on, your villagers may have discovered a new item, had a baby or died. Truely awesome and the first game on the Appstore worth a fiver! In other news, for anyone who's at Uni or needs a good voice recorder i recommend iTalk. After paying for, and using a lot of recording apps, this seems to be the best, and it's free! Other App essentials include Twinkle (Twitter app), Galcon, iChess and Google Earth!

    Blooming well loving this game

Stop being a stupid dick. It's the pandering of Sony to a minority of fundamentalist believers that is the problem, whether intentional or not, it's just the latest attempt to make sure society respects religion, which it really shouldn't anymore than it respect any other organisation. A state in which freedom of speech is compromised because of fundamentalist, over reactionary religious belief is not worth living in. LBP could never come out here and i wouldn't care as much as i do it being altered and modified because of a minority, it sets a very bad precedent of things to come. It is also probably the result of the murders and 'outrage' about the cartoon depicting muhammed, which was also unacceptable and horrific. I live in the hope of you functioning well enough to put your point forward without being a dick this time, dear.
  17. LittleBigPlanet Thread

It is a game, much like a book is just a fucking book. However the precedent it sets is very worrying, which is my point.
