That video is awful. 'It doesn't do PS3 graphics' and 'We haven't seen cartridges since the Gameboy in the 90's'....he hasn't got a clue what he's talking about. @ Mike - That's awful, hope you can get a replacement!

My 3DS arrived at about midday today! But the funny thing is that it arrived before Pilotwings, so no proper games to have a go on yet. Face raiders is awesome.

Mine got dispatched from Play at 9.30 this morning, saying the usual 'allow 3-5 days.' It better get here by friday. Then again I've never had any problems with play, normally arrive within 2 days.

Awesome! I grew up with Art Attack and I love this type of music yet never knew that Neil Buchanan was in a band back in the day. Looking up Marseille on youtube now, good stuff. \m/ Edit: Also just found out that Marseille were originally called AC/DC until they inevitably had to name change.

Finished the core game today. Last boss took me about 30ish lives, didn't think I was ever going to do it at one point - if you die up there you don't start again with diddy! I tried to enjoy it for what it was but it definately isn't the same as the old DKC series. I much preferred the flow of the older games and the fact that is you made a little mistake you could rectify it, in this you have to be dead precise! Never got a game over screen but that was because I ended up buying lives from cranky. So I don't know really, it's a good game but being such a fan of the originals i think ruined the game a bit for me. I feel like I was too hard on DKC3 now when I played that for the first time! Oh and I don't know about everyone else but I was really disappointed with the bosses. Although I was pleasantly surprised in the 7th world with the: Chicken That boss made me chuckle.

Just put a preorder down on this as there really isn't any other game that I want and this is the most interesting til the bigger titles get released. For a launch title it doesn't look too bad at all.

Old news, I saw this maybe half a year ago or more? This was used a lot when people were complaining about Sonic 4.

Localising it would be hard yes, but it could be done. Although a lot of the charm would be lost, I agree. The main reason that Earthbound hasn't seen a VC release is apparently music copyright issues. Also, if it was rereleased now they'd probably drop the knives that Frank was holding for obvious reasons. Shame really, it would be nice to see the whole series made up for a DS release over here, but it isn't going to happen. :\

Seem to be nearing the end now, so much fun. I always heard that people loved Mother 3 as well and you all seem to agree, may have to play that then at some point. @Magnus: I very much doubt i'll ever play Mother 1 for more than 5 minutes as NES rpgs are way too unforgiving for my tastes and due to limitation of the NES, lack the charm that SNES rpgs give. NES rpgs seem to be more of 'you had to play them at the time to appreciate them.'

Favourite Zelda and the only one i've finished. It's such a great looking game with likeable characters and a superb soundtrack. It also had great replayablity with the figurine collecting sidequest. Also, I must be one of the only people who actually enjoyed the triforce sidequest. Sailing and exploring all of those different islands, great fun.

Looks really good, I'm glad they're starting out with a 3d Mario game and not a sidescroller. If it plays anything like Galaxy 1 or 2 then it'll be sweeet.

I agree that it's right that insurance quotes should be equal regardless of sex. Young men can drive like idiots, but yet so can women. Unfortunately the few seem to spoil it for the many which is why we always pay more. I always thought that quotes should be based on how you drive. If you drive like a dick then you have to pay more. If you're a sensible driver, then you should pay less, regardless of whether you have breasts or not.

They just need to take a look back at why they were the market leaders in the early 90s. All they need to do is bring out a new console in the next year or two that is powerful, HD compatible, has a dvd player and which has hardcore games that don't require motion control at all. But even so, Nintendo won't die anytime soon. The 3DS will sell well, as i'm sure their next home console will and if anything people always go to Nintendo for their great first party games. All this shit stirring that websites are doing about Nintendo dying and Apple making handheld consoles obsolete is bullshit.

I very much doubt it, unless it's Apple, (I still don't count iPhones/iPads as gaming consoles). The industry is so big now, with games and consoles costing millions to make that only companies with a lot of money at their disposal have a chance. Not only that, but you just look at how competitive the gaming industry is and fan loyalty to their companies. You would have to make a big entrance like Sony and Microsoft did, pour a lot of money into marketing it and have that killer game to sell it. You only have to look at past failures with companies including Panasonic and Phillips and how easily Atari and Sega went from being so successful to pulling out entirely.

I must be one of the few that actually enjoyed the Triforce Hunt. To this day Wind Waker is the only Zelda i've ever completed. Anyway my games are: GTA4 - It just felt like the game was trying too hard to tell a story and lost the fun in the process. Vice City was much, much better. Final Fantasy 12 - The battle system and general progression really annoyed me, it was just wrong Dragon Quest 9 - I know a lot of people like this, but it just seemed a bit bland to me, still plodding along through it on occassion. I've spoiled myself with RPGs with great battle systems,stories and expansive musical scores and this wasn't really...i'm actually disappointed that I don't like it Half Life 2 - I can see why people enjoy it, but I stopped about half way through due to lack of motivation Gears of War - I can honestly say this is one of the worst games that I have ever played, I hated the controls, the graphics and the characters. I went through the game 2 player from beginning to end as someone wanted me to help them through it. This is also the only game on this list that I truly can't understand why it's so popular::shrug:

No phone calls, no complicated story and police that stick on your arse forever after 2 stars, so that I can have fun like I did playing Vice City.

It was inevitable really. At least Harmonix are still going, they've made great music games for years.

Cheers for the response I know this isn't a flaming forum but I didn't want to come across as bashing the game, just have my gripes with it. I'll have to have a serious look at 8 after I finish this, heard great things about it and if the music and plot is what I hear then i'm sure i'll really enjoy it.

At the risk of being shot down in flames by saying this, after playing a bit more of DQ9 it's seeming a bit bland for me after a promising start. Go to a village, ask for fruit, won't let you have item, something happens, dungeon, boss, get item. This would be fine, but this game doesn't really have any character development or a deep story to keep me glued to the screen for hours on end. The combat and levelling also seems a little unsatisfying and longwinded and the music is really disappointing and overly repetitive. Don't get me wrong, i'll still finish it but i'm a little disappointed as i know the Dragon Quest series is very popular and I really would like to get into the series more. This is my first DQ game though and I hear very good things about 4,5 and 8, the latter of which sits on my shelf with a backlog of other rpgs. I do hear that this game can be a lot better with other people, but frankly I do like playing RPGs solo. This is purely my opinion, i'm not bashing the game i'm just a little let down by it.
