Once again, a Sea of Thieves launch has turned into a you know what 🤦‍♂️ The new season progression system isn't working (you get "Renown" for things you do) it's obviously that bad that they've got an in-game text message permanently in the top left corner encouraging you to continue playing as it will come through soon...2 hours later and I haven't seen any Renown so far, what a disaster...again! Can't quite fathom it, if it isn't ready, wait until it is? It's just embarrassing, and it's effecting other parts of the game to, I didn't get any emmisary value for one of the factions I was working through. Add in the fact that other reports from players say the new Merchant Alliance quest is glitching and people are unable to complete it, despite the Insider program forum users stating this multiple times...🤦‍♂️ Anyway on that cheery note 😂 @Cube and @redshell are you about to play on Sunday night at all? ☠️

Don't quite know where to put this but just read that Playtonic are having a "rebrand" and that all will be revealed soon! Rumour mill has gone straight to "Microsoft acquisition" and "Banjo-Threeie" straight away 😂

If the four of us play we could make it a Galleon which I've only done once...very tricky, but bound to be absolute chaos 😂 I completed the Tall Tales, the final cut scene type bit is amazing! Made such a difference having checkpoints, spare a thought for those of us who did some when there weren't 😢 Just to say as well I don't think the pass makes ranking up quicker at all from what they've said, just gives you some better cosmetic rewards (like the Banjo wheel which I already bought 🤦‍♂️)

The video explaining the new Seasons has been released, ready for the big update tomorrow! My main concern was the Plunder Pass being a "pay to win" option, but that doesn't seem to be the case, purely get better cosmetics for your troubles, so I'm pretty happy with that. And I'll be interested to see how this renown works and feeling like you get something for every play session; it has been brutal at times, even the Saturday just gone my friend, girlfriend and myself spent the best part of two hours doing a good hoarders vault quest, did the puzzle to get the main chest from it...and another ship turned up as we were loading our loot on and blew us out of the water, we lost everything 🤦‍♂️ which never bothers me too much, it is part of the game! But my friend was absolutely livid, in his words "I'm shaking, I'm so angry" 😂 so yeah, looking forward to seeing how this compliments the existing experience! @Cube I'm working all day on Saturday 😢 might have Sunday evening free though (around 9pm til late) if that's any good, @S.C.G if you're up for it too could get in a Brig and take N-E to the seas?

Season 1 starts this week, on Thursday. Hoping I'll be able to get on to see what it's all about on the day, if not likely the weekend. They've promised to make it more rewarding even for short play times, and there's a new Merchant Alliance quest which sounds fun too. However, and obviously they're working from home which makes things a lot more difficult, but the waters have been abit choppy recently. Over Christmas the servers were so overloaded it stopped tracking people's progress, which happened to me one play session, and then the double XP weekend last week had a similar incident, which lost me alot of Pirate Legend progress. They compensate with in game currency, but when alot of the commendations and achievements come from grinding, and money becomes much easier to come by (I've got a cool 3.2 million of in game currency to spend on...🤷‍♂️) it's frustrating to say the least. As much as I understand they've got to keep things exciting and fresh, I'd personally just prefer the core content and what's there now plays properly and without any issues. So hopefully the launch of seasons won't be similar to the original launch when there were a ton of issues. I'll be sure to let you all know 😉

Managed to get to that stage on my go on Gamepass...I think I've reached a certain point of the Impossible Lair (won't say too much as you've yet to do it) but I found it a real slog, lost motivation to keep trying it! Hopefully you'll have better luck than me, it's sort of on my mind but, also, well, I kind of feel at peace with how far I got, too ☺️ Look forward to hearing how you get on with it! 😎

Interesting that most of you will pretty much stick, I think I've found a solution to my issue: going to start my 'main' go with lance but have a secondary character save file (I know some do it but I never have) as a bow wielder and play through the game with my girlfriend as that one, so I'm not just steam rolling through monsters and we'll both learn too. Fired up World myself this evening just to prat about in Astera, almost feel like I'm not quite ready to give up on World yet. Also I can't quite place it but have they tinkered with the camera perspective to make World seem bigger? The whole world just looks so much bigger than Rise, again perhaps the graphical fidelity plays a part but it looks like alot more sky on show on in World. Or perhaps I'm seeing things that aren't there...🤷‍♂️

Yeah I'm wondering if I should stick with the lance to start with, means I can hit the ground running when it comes to online play and getting quests done and decent armour sets unlocked...the eternal dilemma! I also know that in 4U, Generations, Generations Ultimate and World I've told myself I'll build up a few different sets...and invariably only stick to lance 😂 guess I could whet the appetite by firing World back up and playing with the Bow on that one, start building up my knowledge so I'm not too far behind 🤷‍♂️ I always remember playing with you a few time on 3U, @Mokong, you specifically pointed out that rolling when blast blighted from the Brachydios would shake it off 😎 passing down the knowledge!

So...is this the MH I finally change my main weapon? Any other series stalwarts thinking of doing the same to freshen things up? I've always been a disciple of the Lance, sine my first foray in 3U, save for a brief go as a switch axe'er in Generations on the 3DS. Can't decide whether to stick or twist, smash my way quickly through the opening parts and be useful to others online by already being proficient...or throw it all away for the bow? I've been desperate to play as an archer since 4U where I started making armour sets etc but never got to the level I wanted on Lance to then switch over. Haven't got the hang of the wire bug stuff yet but I've really, really noticed a dip in the visuals compared to World on my Xbox. Which is strange for me as I usually couldn't care less about that sort of thing, but it's really struck me how poor it looks in comparison and how World felt like a living, breathing...world! Perhaps it's just the level being a bit grey and green compared to sunsets, lucious water effects and whatever else World had to offer. Still, 90% certain I'll be picking it up and once again sinking hundreds of hours into it. My main MH accomplice (a real life friend) is expecting his second child when this comes out, and doesn't have a Switch either, so I'll be hoping to be an active N-E Hunter as much as possible, like the glory days of 3U 😎

Bloody hell 🤦‍♂️ Having spent alot of time on World over the first lockdown, I'd prefer voice chat 100%. With randoms I don't mind so much, you end up working it out, but if playing with N-E'rs it'd be much better to co ordinate battles properly and, well, chat!

Just caught up with the video, didn't need to see that Khezu has returned...🤦‍♂️ Looks good! Not too concerned about the Monster reveals, but gameplay looks good and I hope the maps are big enough to warrant the palamutes carting you about, the frost level certainly looked quite epic from what they showed. Can't wait to give the demo a bash, have they announced if voice chat will be available through the app or in game? Haven't seen that anywhere yet, don't want to be too @Kav about it, but I'd love it if it did ☺️

consider me buzzing, been desperate to fire up World again recently but don't want to burn myself out before this beauty drops 😍

Beaten all the levels and found the secret Beetallion members too, so I'm at a full 48. Had a quick bash at the Impossible Lair and made it to Capital B again (no idea if he has more than 2 fights) but I only had 4 bees left so I got a certain way into it before succumbing to him. Alot of talk before Xmas about a genuine Banjo game, and alot of people saying Playtonic aren't up to the job...I think the overworld is magical but the levels themselves are in patches excellent but a few duds here and there too. I love for them to do another 3D game but more Kazooie like and less Tooie like, the original Yooka Laylee was just too big and a more condensed game could have been brilliant!

Picked this up on my Switch at the start of the year, it's on Game Pass now so I'm chievo hunting while going through it again, cracking game! For me, the overworld is the standout and much better than the individual levels, although they do make some interesting remixes of each one. I never actually got around to finishing the impossible lair itself on Switch, so hoping I'll get that done this time. I can't get a spoiler tag to work for some reason but from my time on the switch I didn't even realise that a house fire made the game even longer, so found something new on this play through, which is great!

I feel like it's the right decision by Sony but it also feels like they are taking some responsibility for what's happened. I know that isn't true, you do you but the headlines are "PlayStation removed Cyberpunk" as if they've done a whoopsie, while Microsoft are hanging back (now saying they'll refund but not pulling it, probably due to the marketing as Hero suggested) What a sorry state of affairs, clearly lead by shareholder needs over consumer needs/internal quality standards. I remember when Perfect Dark N64 was delayed and delayed and delayed...they put out a completed game in the end (you could argue framerates of four humans Vs four bots was utterly unplayable but still...) Selfishly I hope that this means a swifter price reduction or some sort of Game Pass deal, but I feel desperately sorry for anyone who booked a day off, put time aside or was just incredibly hyped for this game and has been left with this. Also must be quite bizzare for people like @drahkonand @redshell who've barely had any issues and are having a blast to wonder what's going on! I thought before it launched it might have been delayed because Google threw a load of money at it to make sure it was Stadia ready on day one. Sadly looks like that was the least of their troubles!

I'm really tempted to pick this up and get completely lost in what looks like an amazing world...in about 6 months or so when the game isn't likely to go kaput on me. One of my friends has described himself as a paying beta player at the moment (he's on Series X) and a few others aren't having the best ride so far whilst still enjoying the fundamental game itself. Strangely I'm really tempted to get this on Stadia, eventually 🤷‍♂️ I'm sure I'll probably end up going Xbox but at the moment I find myself and my fascination of Stadia leaning towards wanting to try it on there.

Completed Call of the Sea this morning. Terrific game, and been so long since I've played a game where the fall back hasn't been "let's put some combat in to lengthen this". It's a story a puzzle driven game that's beautifully realised and cleverly put together, with a compelling mystery to keep you interested. Chuck in replayabilty as well (won't say too much but amongst other things I'm tempted to go achievement hunting I've enjoyed it so much) and anyone with game pass I'd really recommend downloading it and having a go ☺️ As well as working through SoT still, tempted to either go back to Control or I might start Yooka Laylee now as I'm in a "lighter" mood!

Rumour abound they are working on a PvE server that wouldn't count towards your alliance rankings etc, so just a chance to play around and be abit more relaxed with things, but I don't know how concrete that is! I've seen some great quotes from people (even the guy who blew up my ship in the previous story) how no Pirate really starts like that, the problem comes from other people doing it to you. I've given so many other ships the benefit of the doubt and be burned that now if I'm not solo'ing it's engage at the first opportunity and do what it takes to win; I don't necessarily 'like' being that pirate, but it's almost become necessary 🤷‍♂️

You sound just like the chap I play with on a regular basis, he's been known to switch his console off if we start going down after being under attack! I've found I'm less bothered by it since hitting Pirate Legend level, although I've always felt it's just "part of the game", and adds to the sense of risk and reward, but I get where you're coming from. I solo'd some Athena quests last Sunday night, trying to get my emissary up to five star to unlock the five star quests (which would get me big Athena specific rewards). After just over 3 hours I reached five star and unlocked the quests and, as I went back to my ship I got back just in time to see it sinking. Not a clue what happened! Checked Xbox for 'players recently met' and messaged a guy who I'd seen a few minutes back, turns out him and his mate are rubbish in PvP so decided they'd use a small row boat from another island, bring a gunpowder to my ship and blow it up 'just to give it a go' 🤦‍♂️ of all the times for someone to try that 😂 I told him I'd lost alot of loot as well as my quests...but said fair play, what can you do! So yeah, it never stops being a thing, you'll get a few goes with a pretty much empty server, other times it's constant attacks and looking over your shoulder. Hopefully we'll be able to play together soon and give it a fair fight!

I watched the trailer knowing it was for Perfect Dark, and still got a few goosebumps when the dataDyne logo appeared on top of the building. Trailer told us absolutely nothing, but it's great to see this announced, hopefully the "best in the business" channel the original more than Zero... hopefully something more concrete about it soon!

Managed to regain my 1 viewer when I restarted 😎 Interesting game, Call of the Sea! Just puzzles, most fairly basic with a few head scratchers that took me a little while, but lots of intrigue and story that's around the main game; if you go looking for it you can find out alot more about what's going on! Just got a little way into chapter 3, I'll probably try and crack on abit further with it all when everyone's gone to bed tonight.

I had one viewer then...if it was as any of you apologies I've had to go, my girlfriend isn't well so got to go and pick her up 🤦‍♂️ hopefully I'll be back on within the hour 🤷‍♂️
