There have been plenty of rumours about a more powerful Switch coming later this year. Today, a very reliable Apple leaker (who has connections at Foxconn, the Chinese production company) has tweeted about it, suggesting that it's now entered production: I'm really excited about this, because a recent Nvidia hiring post confirmed they were looking at someone with DLSS experience. For those unaware, DLSS can allow a console to output a 4K image without all the required GPU power. In fact, I've seen footage of Death Stranding run at very low resolutions (360p) and look near identical to a 1080p PS4 image. This could be a real game changer for Nintendo, as Sony and Microsoft can't use DLSS as it's not something AMD offer. A new Switch can offer a decent CPU boost, DLSS and perhaps have more memory without 'replacing' the current Switch.

I managed to finish a couple of games from last year off in the past couple of days. I'll be talking about both on the N-E Cafe this week in a little more detail. Firstly Part-time UFO on Switch, which is a great little game developed by HAL. The final boss is wonderful and introduces new mechanics, which work really well for a "boss battle". There are heaps of costumes, extras and achievements to unlock, some of which are brutally difficult. I finished the main game in just under 3 hours, but I can see it stretching out well beyond 5 for anyone who wants to hit 100%. Highly, highly recommended considering the price. Also did the final room and boss(es) in Luigi's Mansion 3. Not really much else to add here. My favourite Switch game release after the start of 2018. So pleased that NLG have been brought into the fold full-time. The final, final boss was extremely tough, but I managed to finally do it on the third or fourth attempt. Credits and ending cut-scene were wonderful. They've really managed to capture the Nintendo magic in this title and I can't wait to see what they do next. I have a few jewels to go back and get for 100%, but I can easily see myself replaying the entire thing in a year or two. Definitely a 10/10 game! #DCubedWasRIght

This is a bit weird but also a nice surprise. Last May/June I picked up a brand new DSi XL that also came with a brand new copy of Pokemon Conquest. Days after this purchase things went a little south for me for a few months. Because of this, as soon the items arrived I just put them in the cupboard with my DS games and forgot about them. Whilst fishing out Super Princess Peach for the picture I took in the other thread, I came across my forgotten purchase and finally opened it! I always wanted a DSi XL. I just rocked the original model and then Lite when I originally owned a DS but never did upgrade to this. It took a while to find a brand new model that was the colour I wanted. I hate the burgundy and yellow colour models and those were the ones that seemed to be mostly available. I got Pokemon Conquest as part of the bundle. It originally came with Pokemon White 2 but seeing as I already have that I asked for it to be swapped with Conquest. The seller was happy to make the change. I wonder how long these would have sat there had Aneres not mentioned Super Princess Peach?

People seem to think that because Peach uses powers such as crying it sends a negative image about women....or some garbage like that. The whole thing is ludicrous, IMO.

Nice find @Hero-of-Time Also a nice reminder of the days when dedicated Nintendo handhelds used to come with the power adapter in the box. I don't have that many different models of the Nintendo DS or 3DS any more, as the upgrades were so frequent, I'd tend to buy the next model when it came out. While I don't even use my 3DS as much as I used to, I still keep it as there's possibly a few games I'll return to, and I've got a spare New Nintendo 3DS XL just in case, plus one or two brand new adapters so that any 3DS consoles can continue to be used.

I bought myself a 125gb SD card because I want so many games and some I just randomly have a sudden urge to play (like Tetris 99 and Animal Crossing). I also got a couple of cheap games just for curiosity. One is called Night Trap: 25th Anniversary. I've seen footage of this and I love cheesy horrors and heard a lot about it at work so took the plunge. Honestly, I don't really have a clue what I'm doing. I'll probably read up a little more on it. I also got SwordBreaker, which is a game done in the style of those "choose your own adventure" books, which I absolutely loved when I was a kid. I'm enjoying that BUT I can't get past some of the spelling and grammar errors. It's fun but that aspect spoils it a little. I can forgive a couple but there's quite a few errors.

I've never downloaded any mobile game. I don't even own a smartphone... I can confidently say that I'm probably the only person on N-Europe who doesn't own one. Do I win a prize? (if it's a smartphone, I don't want it) - - - - - Do Nintendo ever have anything worth having in exchange for Platinum points? I gave up on them a while ago, only going for the gold points which come with Switch games. The course decoration kit does seem alright, for what it is, but equally, it's something which could have been included in the box for Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. But hey, it's something, for almost nothing.

Kovar was not very good for us at all, very much at fault for all our cheap goals that we were giving away, hence why we sent him back to you guys and brought Travers in instead.

DSi/DSiXL is still the best way to play DS games. Oh, and nothing beats the Mega Stylus that comes with the ol’ DSiXL! Still got mine! Pokemon Conquest is also a real good time. Great choice you made there @Hero-of-Time

Yeah, HoT pretty much nailed it, add to that the sudden mood shifts Peach goes through to use those powers and that's the kind of PR no-one wants to go through today, especially Nintendo. Of course, all the inevitable detractors would conveniently ignore the fact that pretty much every character and enemy in the game has mood powers. Not just Peach. That's not to say that another Super Princess Peach can't happen. They'd just have to give it a mechanic with a context that doesn't invite problems. Weirdly enough, the same issues that the DS game would face today could also be used to make a new Super Princess Peach game be a PR home run.

Put the final touches on the new desk today with monitor arm and vertical laptop stand. Pretty happy with it.

I managed to pull it off! Platinum is on the cards now as the only trophy left to unlock is to kill 100,000 enemies. Crazy thing is that I've only just this moment killed 50,000. It's going to be a hell of a grind to kill the rest of them.

I didn't have the game till november, or when did I join. Everything else is OK. I have specific working hours so there si not a day or an hour I can always attend.

Yeah there'd be an insane backlash against that game if it were released today. ResetEra would have a field day. People really read too much into things sometimes all the time.

Yeh, thanks for posting the YouTube version too, as I was thinking exactly the same after seeing it on Twitter. I’m still excited by this, and I’m fine with the fundamentals and scoring system being kept the same as I loved the original. I suppose, being honest, that while it looks great by 3D Pokemon standards, I wasn’t as wowed this time as I was by the first trailer. Besides that beautiful water I thought graphically it just looked ok.

So... as a fan of League One side Swindon Town I have to say what a complete and utter mess this season has been. After winning League Two last season I knew the task at hand would be to stay in the division. Keeping the squad that won the title together was going to be the key to that and enhancing it. Nope, we lost Michael Doughty, Eoin Doyle, Lloyd Isgrove, Kaiyne Woolery, Keshi Anderson and Jerry Yates among others, we brought in replacements like Tyler Smith, Matt Smith, Jonny Smith (yeah, three Smiths I know), Jack Payne and then to replace Steven Benda we picked up Matej Kovar from Man United on loan. Of course, with a completely different team there has not really been room for them to gel to get to grips with this division, leading in turn to an ambitious Richie Wellens questioning his future at the club, he leaves for Salford City, we get John Sheridan in of all manager and in January are rooted deep in the relegation zone. I thought last week's win at Ipswich would be an impetus but we just went and lost 2-0 to Doncaster at home and making the same silly defensive mistakes. We have a better keeper in Mark Travers now but we cannot account for the fact that our defenders are just passing the ball to the opposition strikers on a regular basis. It's calamitous defending, like they belong in a circus or something. All our best defenders are injury prone but it doesn't seem to matter who we put in defence they just concede sloppy goals. Zeki Fryers is not a good centre back at all, the fact that he's one of the better ones we have available tells you a considerable amount. We need a centre back who is experienced, can play at League One Level, is good enough to compete with League One players and who ISN'T injury prone, someone who can lead the backline, organise the defence and most importantly stop conceding these reckless goals that are going to turn us into a yoyo club if we're not careful or worse just be back in the same situation again before Wellens came to the club. Sheridan seems to be looking at strikers but I feel like we have about six centre backs at the club right now or two left backs acting as centre backs and none of them are good enough defensively for this league.

After @Hero-of-Time and I had a brief moment discussing the best DS game ever created, Super Princess Peach... imagine my surprise when my OH told me that there was a bag on the stairs with some old games in that he’d found when boxing things up for our upcoming house move. The bag was stuffed in a box from the last time we moved house like 5 years ago, and there were so many gems in there... including this! So, I’ve fired up my 2DS and this is going to be my night time ‘before bed’ play.

Nopes. Me neither. Does it count if the phone I have was smart? In 2011, when it came out? I use it.. once a month on average. I don't even know my current number from the top of my head.

I've just got Able Sisters to open and found out about custom designs. Someone created this AMAZING Beast costume and I love it!

1. Yup, I suspected this was the main reason when I made this thread. 2. And I suspected this was the second reason. But unlike the first, I can actually do something about this. 3. I find this reasoning a bit strange, because I'm the only one who actually keeps track of that stuff. Sometimes @BowserBasher gives me results of nights I can't make, but no-one else has to worry about that. The point system I use provides a way to compete without having to attend every single week. I do implement a threshold of 50% attendance to stop someone coming in, performing really well and then buggering off for the rest of the year. I don't think 25-ish hours in a whole year is too unreasonable. 4. See, I wouldn't want anyone to begrudgingly join if they've got other games to play. Anyway, it seems pretty clear that one of the main reasons people don't join is the day. With the League starting again soon, I'm gonna take this opportunity to ask the League regulars, @BowserBasher, @S.C.G, @viceview51, @martinist if Saturday would be OK for you guys this year?

Let’s all prepare ourselves for total disappointment that no ones won a thing 😆
