God damn. I SAID GOD DAMN! That's how you invite a Newcomer! Not some cutesy letter in their mailbox, no, you bring the ol' veteran crew and your burning logo as big as the sun, remain in the shadows, and just stare at them untill they join you in the scorching arena of Smash! I have seen the light!

    You're new to Nintendo right?

I really hope the next Xenoblade is a turn-based card game.

This morning you said you hate turn based games. You have no right to judge me!

Well to temper my hype I ignored the direct, I kept playing Star Trek Online (loving the Walker Class more than my Vengence for some reason) got tired and went to bed at 10:30, thinking i'll wake up and whilst everyone else is disappointed, I will be surprised. God damn I got that wrong! I don't know where to start! Smash, South Park, Octopath, Okami, Captain Toad the list just went on and on! what the hell are they going to announce at E3 that they had to blow their load for now? The King is back baby

Yes please! We need a new Link costume:

I still find this kind of thing baffling. It's not as if it's some kind of heavy object that needs lifting out, dusting off and plugged in to your TV. If you have one then why not use it? Given you like retro gaming, I don't see the issue with using your 3DS. I'm loving that the 3DS is still getting supported. The salt from people is very real.
  11. 3 points
If that made you laugh, this is totally your kind of game. The series is completely wacky and makes absolutely no sense and it's beautiful.

Another version of Okami for me to buy and never play!
  13. 2 points
To hell with Smash Bros. This was the best announcement of the Direct!
  14. 2 points
To be honest its just an old console that I never found all that comfortable and the right stick nub on my new 3DS is just so stupid that it offends me to look at it for too long

Check this out: https://venturebeat.com/2018/03/09/google-maps-marks-mario-day-by-adding-a-super-mario-kart-to-your-navigation/ Loving that super clean SMK Pipe Frame render. Gorgeous.

Looks great. Loving the 80's vibe on that logo. Anyone pre-purchase the DLC? I'm wondering what abilities the bonus gear have.
  17. 2 points
Did you hear it first and just assume it was called Fractured Butthole? Or read it and never say it out loud? The last, I think. And then I thought the title was a reference to something somewhere that I didn't know of and that was why people found it funny. It's honestly a bit embarrassing. XD

To be honest, this an issue I have with the console and have done for a while. As someone who supported the Wii U until the very end and bought pretty much all of Nintendo's output on that, the Switch lineup is pretty lacking for me. Add to the fact that a lot of the indie games and 3rd party titles i've already played elsewhere, i'm kinda just left twiddling my thumbs until something exclusive arrives.

I will go digital on this for sure! I mean, if there is one game I ALWAYS want to have with me for a quick multiplayer game, it's Smash Bros. I really, really hope they will add some serious alternative costumes in this Smash game. Thinking of how good Nintendo has been with "cosplay" in their games lately (BotW, Odyssey), it'd be a waste if all we get is "The same costume but with different colors!". Seriously Nintendo, we need to have some awesome costume variants! Let me fight as Odyssey Mario in one game, and polygon 64-version in another. Make it happen!

It was rumoured back in March last year but the fact that it's been rumoured for so long without being announced has made people immune to the rumours and thus, it was a surprise. And it was a pleasant reveal. Will look into it! Also, and this bothers me. This is the first time I understand the title... and it's so funny! Couldn't stop laughing when it occured to me late last night.

Cool! Do I own this thread now? I look forward to many meaningful discussions with myself on how underappreciated this series is. The Mii animals look strange but being able to use multiple Miis to help Dillon out gives off a hint of Miitopia, and I'm fine with that.
  23. 2 points
Indeed. I think we'll see an announcement next year with a release in 2020. Dev kits this early is great, though. Gives developers lots of time to get used to it. (if the report is true)

Highlights from @Dcubed and me. Highlights focusing on me (Right Screen) Highlights focusing on Dcubed (Left Screen) Multi Screen Shenanigans! With added Screen Watching! EDIT: Before I get into the Excel file. I should let @S.C.G know that his GP3 point total is 16, lower than your average. If you want me to still include it and maintain your attendance, let me know. In the same manner, @martinist's GP2 total will make 9, also lower, if you want to still include it to maintain attendance, speak up.

I'm still buzzing, I'm not gonna sleep well tonight. I mean, I knew it was coming, I knew Inklings would be in, I even predicted BOTW Link getting represented somehow, and yet I'm still super hyped! Let the pre-Smash hype begin!

My biggest regret with D.I.Y. is that I bought it late and never really had a chance to play your creations before the online in DS ended, something which also halted my own creativity. I'm definitely up for a sequel to that and I'll be there day one this time
  30. 1 point
Amen to this. I recently bought a 2DS XL so I'm made up it looks like it's going to get a whole load of support for a while! And the OCD in me is happy that both Luigi's Mansion games will be on the same system. Dat double homecreen icon.
  31. 1 point
Same here. I reckon there will be more DLC at some point, it’s probably just too close to the Balloon World stuff to mention it right now though. Got a feeling they might go the same route as Zelda and Splatoon 2 and do a big DLC expansion for purchase.
  32. 1 point
That reveal was absolutely fantastic! Would’ve been more of a surprise if they had shown it before all the Splatoon 2 stuff though, as I realised it was Smash way before the logo appeared, but it was still a great hype moment regardless. So what do we reckon for the release month? Looks like the online service is set to launch in September, and this is basically THE perfect game for that... Just knowing it’ll be out this year is good enough though, super excited to play it.

Damage blocked but character forced off the ledge.
  34. 1 point
Wow, surprised by that! For some reason (my terrible memory obviously ) I seemed to think you played the Wii version, which was when I first played it. Anyway, wherever/whenever you end up playing the game I reckon you’ll really enjoy it.
  35. 1 point
Well, I'm not interested then. But thanks anyway @londragon

Fantastic announcement, especially as it's the complete edition. Depending on the price, I'd be tempted to double dip and see the final DLC for the game as i enjoyed it so much. The Amiibo thing is a bit naff but thankfully it can be ignored as it just looks so out of place in the game. Highly recommend the game though. And this should be good news as Tarsier are teasing something new to come with a possible sequel so hopefully that'll land on the Switch day and date with other platforms when it comes to it.

I'm so hyped to play this again even if the thought of trying to conquer Mummy Me Maze Forever again terrifies my very soul

Looks like Super Bomberman R may be heading to the PS4. https://gematsu.com/2018/03/super-bomberman-r-rated-ps4-korea#RZaSadIMMrSKPii0.99 I may have to buy it if this turns out to be true. Being able to play the game with party chat with the lads is certainly something i'd be interested in.

But the online will be comlete & utter dogshit with the Switch, too. The only difference: You pay for it monthly. Just kidding, people. Yeah, a port would be great for those who didn't play the WiiU version but for me ports on the Switch suck. I've played most of the games already.
  40. 1 point
Yeah, really can’t stand turn-based games... I’ve tried different ones many times but just can’t bring myself to play them. I detest turn-based!

Time to see what the Allies thought about the Direct.
  42. 1 point
I think they would be silly to release their next console before 2020. PS4 is still firing on all cylinders.

Would kill for a Uk version of this!

Was this revealed during the direct? If so: Switch is on fire. Still not for me, but hey. The more people are able to play some of the greatest games (Crash, Dark Souls, Okami, South Park, etc) the better

I'm just happy to see that there is a normal mode in it. I was very worried when they started to show off all the crazy moves and power shots, so there was a big sigh of relief when they gave a glimpse of the standard mode.

Bought the GOTY Edition so I have everything But the DLC areas are off limits for a long time. This sounds like something I could do. Man, this reminds of my youth...staying up all night, playing video games, no worries...good old times. I miss them
