Can you repost the rest of your post? Somehow I can’t seem to read further after that last part...

@Grazza I really enjoyed the 3DS versions. Kinda felt like smaller version of Guardian Heroes.

Predictions... - Crash Bandicoot Switch - Fire Emblem Switch - Mario Odyssey DLC? - Yoshi Switch named and dated - Too much time spent on Octopath Traveller - Lots of time spent on Mario Tennis - more than I'd like (hopefully no more than 5 mins but reckon it could be closer to 12...) And something neat to end with. My heart says Smash Bros but I don't think that'll happen - maybe Pikmin..? PS. Hey again peeps!

The news you've all (read: no one) been waiting for... Technology permitting, I'll be live tweeting the direct tonight, logging on around 9:55! Join me if you want to witness my descent into a tired madness, join in the conversation with me, just read what I'm posting or...just do your own thing. But company would be nice... Edit: I should have noted that'll I'll be doing this from the official N-Europe Twitter account, not my own one. I have some standards...

Figured this was worth it's own thread seeing as its covering both 3DS and Switch.

Cant say I’ve ever seen that on the bottom of my phone screen before! 10/10 Direct, would Direct again!

Terrible Direct. Very disappointing. Oh sorry, so used to typing that afterwards. They knocked this one out of the park.

How about, Donkey Kong and Samba teaming up in one epic collaborative music game, incorporating D.K on the Donkey Konga drums, Diddy on the Keyboard, Samba shaking the Maracas and why not have the Rhythm Heaven Monkeys on the Mic... just because. They could call it... Simian Superstars! Or not, whatever. (It's just a suggestion)

Yeah, yeah, don't worry. Cheers for helping out there, and thanks to @Dcubed for playing backup. And here's the table. Because of the low turnout (Damn you, Spring Snow), everyone who took part raised their averages. Last week, there were 2 sets of people who were tying. Now, we've got three. You guys are giving me a headache. @BowserBasher and @martinist battle for third place while @Dcubed shares 7th with @viceview51. @S.C.G, I took your disconnecting into account, but still submitted your score for the 2nd GP, because it was higher then your average. Plus, I'd imagine you'd want to keep that perfect attendance anyway. There's a Nintendo Direct tonight, it was gonna be at 8pm, but I managed to convince Ninty that this is far more important, and they agreed. On the condition that I do another theme suggestion of theirs. Next League Night: Tonight 8pm Room 1: @BowserBasher is host @Glen-i @BowserBasher @viceview51 @DazzeL Guess I gotta explain this here, huh? For this theme night, you're allowed to choose any character, as long as they were playable in the N64 version of Mario Tennis. Don't worry, here's a list of who is allowed. Mario Luigi Peach Daisy Toad Waluigi Shy Guy (Red or Light Blue Shy Guy only) Wario Bowser Donkey Kong Yoshi (Green or Yellow Yoshi only) Baby Mario If you choose Yoshi or Shy Guy, you have to choose one of the colours that was available in the original Mario Tennis. Gotta keep it authentic! Sign Up Now!

Here's great little video about game preservation. Kinda in the same vein, Nintendolife posted this article about the all digital future. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/03/soapbox_im_secretly_terrified_of_an_all-digital_gaming_future

Great to see the lower budget titles also hitting Switch at retail. Switch is the 3DS’ successor as well as Wii U and needs to be a healthy home for both big budget AND smaller budget titles at retail; so it’s important for smaller games to have a solid chance outside of the eShop too! Also Indieszero has never gone wrong; the game looks fun as hell! (And utterly ridiculous, especially the music, which is always a big bonus!) I’m definitely looking forward to it

Getting the impression from management that literally anyone else could be doing my job and that they wouldn't notice: My Year 1 colleague demanded to go part-time next year or she would leave. Request granted. This means that I'm now the only experienced EYFS teacher in Year 1, which you would think make them more motivated to keep me... well, motivated. But no. "Where's my career going here?" "Wherever we say it is and we're not interested in discussing it." "Look at the improvements in teaching and curriculum content delivery I have made over the past few years. Is that perhaps something I can do more of across the department?" "No." "I've led workshops before and have everything prepared, I hear that someone has dropped out of the cross-campus development seminar. Would you like me to present?" "No, we don't want you to do it, we'd prefer to cancel the time slot." "Oh, so I'm essentially nothing and nobody here?" "We didn't say that. We did imply it, but we didn't say it. Stop presuming to speak for us."

Makes sense. I only have 20-30 minutes to/from work/university so shorter podcasts are much more suitable for me. Yeah, that's true. No idea why I just can't get "with it" in video game podcasts. Maybe it's because I tend to browse video game news websites several times a day and get a lot of news right then and there. For this topic I just don't "need" to hear a conversation about the news. I'd rather talk about them here. It's totally different with other podcasts I listen to. Just a couple of minutes ago I finished listening to a one hour long episode about thoughts. It covered various topics, aspects and stories about thoughts and thought process and I loved it. Maybe it's because I don't regularly look things up about it and don't engage in a community focused on that.

Im the opposite in that I like a long podcast. I have a 50 min drive to and from work so I like podcasts that will keep me going all week. Plus, I find it's hard to get into a good conversation about the latest news when it's only an hour. It's one of the many reasons why I don't care for the IGN podcasts. They are far too short and tend to either miss news or skip stuff entirely.

Oh wow! It has been upgraded to a full retail release!? Awesome! A localisation announcement around now would make perfect sense... And 3DS/Switch multiplatform releases seem to be a trend of this ND... Either way, I just hope that we get the same boxart! HOLY SHIT IT IS AMAZING! Also... no... it couldn't be... Smash? Here? No... (If that's the case... is there a chance for Dillon?)

Problem now is that physical games aren't even proper archives of retail releases anymore either, since almost all of them have post-release patches and DLC that add and fix things. Some games aren't even playable without these updates! Nintendo do have a tendency to include updates and patches on the disc/cart on later reprints of their games (Skyward Sword comes to mind), but they're not exactly consistent about it. Even physical games don't last forever though. And ultimately, they only live as long as the hardware that runs it does, even if the physical media outlasts it... No matter what happens, emulation (be it software or hardware based) is ultimately the only way to truly keep these games alive.

Well we already have two leaks from this ND now... Now a multi platform release. Also... June 22nd in Japan. I’m gonna go out on a limb and also say that we’re probably gonna see Captain Toad on both Switch and 3DS here too...
